Caleb listened to Freyja’s words after considering Ardai’s suggestion. It was obvious that the redhead had an ulterior motive, but it certainly wasn’t malicious. And knowing Ardai it was probably a ploy to let himself off the leash of Onetian society. “Freyja’s right, we are not very... inconspicuous right now. But these streets all look very familiar and I’m afraid we could lose each other. I could always give whatever team I’m not on a bird like I usually do, but...” his eyes flickered over to the raven perched atop Cassiopeia’s shoulder. Would another bird really attract more or less attention?
Albin’s insight was very much like Caleb’s own indecisiveness, and as a decision was not clearly being proposed, the teen’s heart sank at the thought of himself taking charge. “Hm, well...” Caleb cleared his throat before speaking up again. “From what I have read about convenience stores, it does not usually take a lot of time to choose what you want. Plus if only a part of our group went, we wouldn’t know what to get the rest of you. I say we stick together, we all get something, purchase them together, and leave to find a park or something.” There were an abundance of green spaces in Delra’s capital, so it wouldn’t be hard to find one. On the flip side, had they split up, then the convenience store group would likely spend the entire rest of their free time trying to find the park the other group chose. Even with another of Caleb’s summoned songbirds, Oneta lacked the blatant individuality of Fivana.
The dark haired boy took a deep breath, then closed his eyes as he awaited the approval or disapproval of the rest of the party. While it might have appeared that he closed his eyes in anxiety, though, Caleb was actually returning to the consciousness of the sparrow on Rose’s shoulder. It let out a surprised chirp as the boy realised that everyone had started walking and quickly caught his balance. It didn’t appear as if the animal medium had noticed him just yet, and while she was talking to someone else, Caleb decided to try his hand at making himself known.
“Rose! It’s Caleb. The bird here on your shoulder, I mean.” Caleb hesitantly thought, the words coming out of the bird’s beak as what sounded to him like normal sparrow sounds. He probably should have tried to talk to her through his summoned animals during training...
Not wanting to completely leave his focus on where his
actual body was, the recruit opened up one eye to look around at the rest of team Omega.

Onyx Carriado——————————
♣︎ // Phoenix Squad Recruit // Acrobat // Tags: team beta, Theodora > Keelan
Onyx stayed near Theodora and her cat as the group started off, eager to see the cat transform despite the fact that the two groups would likely break off before then. Considering what the other recruit had said about making the cat larger, the acrobat assumed she was on team alpha. Onyx grinned to themself at the thought of
them being on team Alpha. Onyx being intimidating seemed as far fetched as seeing a Onetian in Fivana, despite their guardian’s reminder that they would’ve been in a Sixney gang had she not taken them in. Luckily for Onyx, they were talented in ignoring her.
The dark-haired Phoenix squad member’s footsteps hastened a bit as those leading the charge started to point out geographic markers on the map. Onyx was normally one to follow the beat of their own drum, allow their legs to take them where they were meant to be. In this particular instance, however, their mission felt a lot more exciting- like a treasure hunt except the “treasure” was a prince they were going to capture. This excitement dulled a bit as they heard someone approaching from behind. Curiosity got the best of the feline-resembling teen and before Keelan could speak up, Onyx turned so they were walking backwards.
“Nope. Not unless I need to devote all my attention to walking, anyway.” The edges of Onyx’s violet eyes crinkled as they shot the girl a playful grin. They took her outstretched hand and gave it one, dutiful shake. “Oh, I’ve seen you. And not seen you. You’re the invisible girl, aren’t you?” They inquired with a tilt of their head. Their hand had been brought back to sit thoughtfully on their chin as their other one was hidden in a pocket. Onyx was easily bored, and though they were often napping or trying to bother someone, their lounging spaces were strategically placed for different intended outcomes. One of these places was, in fact, up the wall of the training area, where the acrobat kept track of certain abilities their teammates had. Keelan so happened to have caught their attention (mostly out of curiosity), as she seemed to turn invisible sometimes without even meaning to at times.
As Onyx awaited confirmation their backwards walking caused them to get caught off guard by a root that caught their heel. Instead of being very phased though, there was a momentary look of surprise before the recruit did some dancer’s twirl with their feet to place them evenly on the ground past the obstacle. “Huh, guess I should start actually watching my step...” Onyx’s lips twisted into a cat-like smile of amusement.
