Hawthorne nodded, a smiling faintly at her," Alright then". Once again, the captain admired her self-sufficent attitude. Though it could be a little frustrating at times when all he was trying to do was help her. He hoped that she'd eventually accept his help a bit more. Hawthorne picked up his sword, tossing it slightly in the air. " Yeah... I suppose I just have a lot on my mind." He clutched his sword tightly, reattaching it to his belt. " Training always seems to clear my mind." Hawthorne noticed that she looked very tired," You look like you need some rest. Will you be alright?" He asked

For a moment, Soren was more horrified at Alex's idea than anything. He shuddered at the idea of jumping into the fire, and while he hated it, he nodded in agreement with Donnie's words. He was finding it all the more difficult to tolerate him as his sisters didn't seem to react well to how he spoke, but he suppressed an urge to get into a fight. "It's all right, though that's incredibly dangerous, and it's best to leave the riskier ideas as last-resorts. But, still! I understand what you were getting at. It'd work, but there might be a more effective way to go about that idea." He smiled to Alex, trying to reassure her in some way. He was happy she at least tried to make an idea, even if it wasn't perfect. He listened as Basil spoke up, nodding. "Ah- yeah... We need nature magic for the job, which I lack. Him and Basil'd have to work together." He sighed softly, fiddling with his feathers. He bit his lip, quiet briefly. "Yeah... it'd probably be easiest to smother the fire. At least enough to push it back- in fact, you could probably control it to a degree."
He tilted his head, mind finding some train of thought. He was staring for a moment at the waterfall, curious as to why Donatello had looked back toward it. He mentally weighed a few variables, pulling his scarf down from over his face just to be able to better feel the temperature. "Ah..." He seemed to think of something, taking a few steps closer to the water. "Water... doesn't burn, right? So we'd be less endangered so close to the fire if we were all soaked," he commented, looking more curious, as if he just wanted to know if the idea would work. "And it's cold, so that might help somewhat with the heat from it..." He tilted his head, curious expression fading slightly as he frowned. "Except... I'd rather deal with the burns than get my wings wet. They stay wet for days! I hate it; it's impossible to deal with, and my feathers get ruined..." His tone became more stubborn now, clearly not fond of water. "Plus, I spent forever on making this jacket perfect- I had to try multiple times. I mean, I guess it getting burned wouldn't be any better... burned fabric feels awful... ugh..." He fussed with the fabric of his scarf, groaning softly. His own argument was falling apart in his mind, especially since now wasn't really the time to be having a fit over his appearance.

Donnie crossed his arms, glad that they finally came to same conclusion he did. Sort of. "You may be powerful with your Earth power but I'm not. Tech is my thing. So you can go ahead and conjure sand if you can but I know I can only manipulate Earth" he shrugged slightly, "But that's really all it'd take. Sand, Earth, Water, just something that keeps the fire from getting oxygen" Don raised an eyebrow when Soren practically read his mind but he ended up rolling his eyes and laughing softly. "Here I thought Oliver was the only dramatic Royal" he said, having a strong urge to push Soren into the water just to get this whole thing over with. "You know.." he said, walking up beside Soren to look into the water. "There is this miraculous thing called Energy Quell" He then pushed Soren into the water. "You can have a talk with one of them and they'll hook you up" He said, smirking inwardly. "Oh, anyone that wants to play hero needs to get drenched" he said, looking at Spencer, Alex, then Basil. "I'm not about going to be responsible for anyone should anyone get burned"

ℬ𝓪𝓼𝓲𝓵/ 𝓠𝓾𝒆𝓵𝓵/ ℒ𝓸𝓬𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷: The water fall, Forest/ 𝓣𝓪𝓰𝓼: Soren, Alexandria, Spencer, Donatello

Basil was quiet as she listened carefully to her brother and Donatello. Soren agreed with her suggesttion, at least partially and that boosted her confidence a bit. Her heart still beat just a little fast because she was so anxious. It didn't help that Soren walked over to the waterfall, leaving her without her moral support. Basil found it easier to talk to others when she was close to her siblings. But, the princess dug her nails into her palms, resisting the urge to follow Soren to the water like a frightened puppy. She was determined not to let Donatello get the best of her. She turned her attention back to the nobleman just as he pushed Soren into the water. Basil's eyes widened," Soren!" She squeaked. Panicky, the short Quell dashed over to the water, peering in. Basil actually couldn't swim, but she wasn't going to let Donatello hurt her brother. Soren's wings would fill with water and weigh him down. Basil's heart pounded in her ears as she scowled up at Donatello. Letting out a string of curses, unbecoming to a princess, she shoved Donnie in the waterfall as hard as she could. " IF HE'S HURT I SWEAR I WILL TEAR YOU APART!" Basil hissed angrily. It was clear that Donatello had pushed her to far. It seemed that she could be just as fierce and strong as she was meek. In a way is was slightly unnerving the see this side of the timid princess.

Alex tries to smother a snort of laughter as Donatello pushes Soren into the water. A sly smile lights her face at his comment about getting drenched. She follows behind Basil to the water before jumping in herself, yelling "CANNONBALL!" Alex lands in the water with a splash, enjoying the feel of the water rushing past her. She looks up to the surface as bubbles rush past her. She swims after them, breaking the surface with a gasp, a huge grin on her face just as Basil shoves Don. A frown twists her smile at Basil's hiss, before her mouth opens wide. She suddenly realises why Basil is so mad. Alex ducks back under the water, searching for her brother.

Soren huffed softly, rolling his eyes. He was a bit apprehensive as Donnie got closer to him, tensing up a bit. "Hmph, yeah, I know, but-" He stuttered, cut off at a sudden push. Something he hadn't thought he'd need to expect from a noble, and something he wasn't ready to counter; he couldn't hope to catch himself, and he fell into the water with a yelp. Falling in the water wasn't a good thing; it gave him no real chance to save himself with his wings and just rendered them useless. A lot of factors were stacked against him, enough to flood him with panic and stop him from doing anything for a long moment.
His wings were quick to fill with water, becoming unfortunate weights to him almost as soon as water touched them. Well, he wasn't wrong at least, the water was cold, at least for his tastes. Or maybe that was terror digging itself into the prince, making him feel frozen. He didn't know, he couldn't really decide on that. He couldn't move for the longest moment, but at least seeing his youngest sister jump into the water got his attention, the large splash when she jumped in snapping him out of his thoughts. A burning feeling in his lungs was his other hint that he'd been under longer than what he should've let himself.
He flared his wings slightly, trying to use them to get some sort of movement, since it would be easier to use them than to swim against them, but they simply weren't meant for swimming. He came to the verdict that it'd be easiest to stop trying to deal with this physically, and in a moment, he'd teleported out, appearing on the ground beside the water. He coughed and tried to catch his breath, on his knees and looking worse than before, but all right. He couldn't pick his wings up, or at least, they were idly laying across the ground beside him. "We-e-ell-l, I was ri-ight- it-it's c-c-co-o-cold," he spoke up, voice scratchy. He coughed again, trying to clear his throat. He was trembling, and he was hoping it was easily dismissed as him being cold rather than him actually having been struck with terror. He raised up his hand and adjusted his jacket, grimacing as he realised he'd lost his scarf at some point. It wasn't too surprising, he never secured it and wore it loosely, but it still frustrated him. He was at least relieved that his sword remained firmly clipped at his side, and he rested his hand on its hilt, looking out over the water and visibly shuddering, pulling his wings slightly closer. He smiled slightly, feeling amusement as he saw Don in the water too, at least.

Donnie didn't expect Basil to react the way she did. Falling into the water, he smirked. So maybe Basil did have what it would take to be Queen after all. Letting himself sink deeper into the abyss, he raised a hand to make sure his glasses didn't fall off and remained motionless in order to conserve energy. It was different underwater than it had been during the day. He could actually see but now it was too dark to see anything really. Still, it was relaxing as the water muffled his senses and it would've been even better if he hadn't had to worry about Soren. He sighed inwardly, and swam to the surface.
Swimming was something he had to learn in order to go gen hunting. His Father taught him the way all Lyttletons were taught- by simply being thrown into the water. Scary at first but Dons quick thinking mind had learned to adapt to the new challenge. Every other week he practiced swimming and like everything he learned, he perfected it. His swim style was almost elegant in a way.
As he swam, he silently freaked out when something tangled around his arm. A gasp allowed the little bit of air he had to be let go and he frantically tried to get away before just propelling himself up to the surface.
Breaking the surface, he breathed heavily and flinched when Spencer dove into the water near him, startling him. He grit his teeth and raised his hand out of the water to see what in the world was clinging to him- Sorens Scarf. The only reason he recognized what it was was because he thought it was a good thing to have if they were going to being playing with Fire. He sighed softly in relief and glanced up toward Basil and Soren, his sight blurred by water. It was all too easy to see them even without his glasses for they were both just blobs of green and purple. "If Soren could survive a plunge into water without being hurt. Let's see how he fares against being plunged into a fiery forest" he said quickly before his voice faltered due to it being cold. He swam to the edge and pulled himself out of the waterfall, teeth chittering lightly as he rose to his feet "Besides, I always have a contingency plan should something I do go wrong. I'm not an idiot" he mumbled, rolling his eyes slightly as if that was the most obvious thing in the world. Looking at the scarf, he debated between keeping it so he could use it during the fire or giving it back. Grumpily, he grumbled "Here's your scarf princess" he muttered, balling up the drenched scarf and practically shoving it at Soren, mostly bitter at the fact that the scarf has spooked him when he was underwater. "Basil, your turn to take a dive" he huffed then looked at Sorens wings with a sudden interest. "Hm, so my hypothesis was correct. Your wings aren't waterproof" he mumbled mostly to himself, "Too bad"

♛ARKADY RHYAS FEYRE
18 / female / heterosexual / half quell, half howler / tags> Hawthorne / loc> palace

Arkady nodded and curled up under the blankets. "I'll be alright Hawthorne. You should get some sleep as well." She was tired but didn't want to sleep. The thought of returning to that nightmare made her frown slightly. Her expression though was gone in a flash. She was already planning on what she would do in the morning and that made her feel a little better. Morning will be here faster than I will notice. Arkady didn't close her eyes just yet though. She kept on glancing back and forth between Hawthorne and the windows. While the palace was nice, she wasn't use to the Royals way of living. The bed wasn't as comfortable as it was before and it felt more like a trap than anything. She momentarily wished for her old life but told herself that this was better. Here she wasn't hungry at least. But she didn't want everything handed to her on a silver platter. Arkady wanted to work for her things like she is used to.

ℬ𝓪𝓼𝓲𝓵/ 𝓠𝓾𝒆𝓵𝓵/ ℒ𝓸𝓬𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷: The water fall, Forest/ 𝓣𝓪𝓰𝓼: Soren, Alexandria, Spencer, Donatello

Basil stood at the edge of the water, anxiously looking for her brother and sister. She knew Alexandria could handle herself in the water. But, she was worried sick about Soren because of his wings soaking up the water. As Soren teleported onto the shore, she dashed over to him, " Soren! Are you okay?!". Basil worriedly looked him over. As Donatello spoke, the princess scowled deeply. He did know how much she wanted to push him back in the waterfall just to wipe the stupid smirk off of his face. Basil was sick of the arrogant nobleman. Her anger gave her a bit more courage to speak her mind. She turned on the nobleman, an indignant spark in her eye. " Listen up you pompous blue-blood. " Basil said, trying to control her temper, but she was sill furious. " How could you do something so senseless and so...so selfish ?! To prove a hypothesis?!" She crossed her arms over her chest with an annoyed huff, "For a supposedly intelligent man, you don't think things through. What if you had hurt my brother?! I don't care if you had a million back up plans if something went wrong." The princess gave a bitter laugh, looking at him through her bangs." I thought you were supposed to be a genius inventor? ha You haven't even tried to help! You think so highly of yourself, yet you're nothing but a vain snob. " Basil spat angrily, stepping closer to Donatello with confidence. " If you are going to stay out here, do something useful for a change. Try to some up with something better than nearly drowning a royal." Basil turned her shoulder to him, going back to Soren to make sure he was okay. Her mind reeled with other sharp things she wanted to say to Donatello, but slowly her anger- and spunk was fading. She knelt to take a closer look at Soren's soaked wings, though honestly she wasn't sure if they were okay or not.

Alex treads water, listening in to the conversation. She's relieved that Soren's okay and can't help but grin at Basil's outburst, proud of her sister for standing up to Don like that. Alex climbs out of the water with ease, trying to use her telekinesis to get rid of some of the water. It doesn't work. With a sigh and a shrug, Alex decides to ignore the water and focus instead on her companions. "So, about that fire...?" she says, trying to remind the others why they wearere here.
