Katharine Underwood|Griffindor|2nd year
Katharine got up early, got dressed in her robes, and picked up her bag. She made sure that she had her writing stuff, quills, ink, spare parchment, and collected the books that she would likely need. After checking that her bag wasn't going to split, and her books weren't going to crush her ink and get it everywhere, she put her wand in her pocket, and exited the dormitory before anyone else in the room had even got up.
She headed down to the great hall, and sat down at the end of the Griffindor table, loading her plate with eggs and sausages. When she looked up to get a glass of orange juice, she noticed someone at another table staring at her... and it wasn't Kaylee, who, in any case, would have come over to talk rather than just staring.
Katharine raised an eyebrow at the other person, and returned to her breakfast.
Kaylee Underwood|Hufflepuff|3rd year
Kaylee was awake before anyone else in her dormitory, but knowing the others were early risers too, she got dressed and waited by packing her bag with yarn and her crochet hook. After sticking her wand behind her ear once more, she collected all of her writing stuff, and packed that into her bag too.
When the others rose, and got dress, everyone chatted rather sleepily, and filtered out of the room once they had everything and were dressed. Kaylee was the last to leave, and closed the door behind her gently. Trotting to the portrait hole, she climbed out, then up the marble staircase into the entrance hall.
Walking into the great hall, she paused beside the doors, thinking for a second on if she should go to her house table, or join her sister at the Griffindor table. She decided to go sit beside her sister, who was sitting completely alone. True there weren't a lot of people at the table yet, but she was sitting as far away from anyone at the table as she could.
Kaylee noticed her look up, pause, and then continue eating. I wonder what she was looking at? No matter. She thought as she walked over and sat down beside her sister.
"Good morning Katie! How's it goin'? Have a good nights sleep?" Kaylee said cheerfully.
"Good morning Kaylee. I'm fine, and I slept well. How are you doing? Anyone I need to duel?" Katharine replied, cutting her sausages into smaller pieces.
"No, not on the first day Katie! I'm good. I managed to acquire a Hermione Granger from one of my friends, and I only had to trade a Harry Potter! Fortunately no one knows that I have like twenty of him at home." Kaylee chuckled, as she piled a plate with food.
"Nice! We'll have to put in our collection later. Who are we missing now?" Katharine knew, of course, who they were missing, but liked to let Kaylee keep her list. She spread butter and marmalade on a piece of toast, and took a bite.
"I'll check and let you know later. Now tell me... Who did you argue with last night?"
Kathatine choked on her toast, and started coughing. With her eyes watering, she looked at her sister. "What do you mean?"
"I know you well enough to know when you've had a row. Now, who was it, and why?"
Katharine sighed. "Madison, because she was making fun of you being a Hufflepuff."
