"Tristan is cruel to me, my parents haven't shown me any love since I was a young child," she continued then stopped. She appraised him with cautious eyes; she did not trust him yet, just as she didn't trust many. I trust Patch, she thought. I trust Nick and Serena and Crystal. That's it. "What kind of deal?" she asked cautiously.

Kaleb grinned at his fiance's sister. "Ehh, nothing big. Just a small little contract between the two of us." He winked. "You go to dinner tonight, behave, and be polite. I will make sure that you won't get married to any old lord or duke. I might even be able to ensure you a decision of whom you marry. After all, a pretty girl like you is bound to have some lover somewhere." he taunted. The prince didn't like having to tease the princess, but anything to get her back in the dining hall.

Arabella rolled her eyes at his flattery. Think about Patch. This may be your only chance to get to be with him, she reasoned. She considered his offer for a few moments, then stuck out her hand for him to shake. "Alright deal," she said, trying to smile. "But next time you're tempted to try and flatter me and call me pretty or whatnot to get what you want, don't. I only makes me angry."

Kaleb laughed at her rebuke. "I was being sarcastic. But in truth, I like you. You and I would make great sibling-in-laws. If those even exist.." The prince led the way back down the corridor and towards the huge set of doors that entered into the dining hall. "And a word of advice. Try not to irritate Tristan. He's had it a bit rough. After all, he was there when Aiden died." he whispered.

Arabella smiled, finally seeing he meant no harm. "Tristan has always been sour, no matter what he's done," she said rolling her eyes. "But I'll hold my tongue. He'll be suspicious though." She moved towards the door a bit, her nervousness coming back at the thought of returning to the dining hall. "I will tell you your deal may be useless," she said with a sad laugh, leaving Patch unmentioned. He's my little secret, she thought. My secret happiness. "You may not have to influence my father to let me chose my own husband."

Kaleb smiled at his fiance's sister. He had ways to persuade his majesty. The prince bowed courteously at the entrance of the dining hall, taking the required steps, and then bowing once again to each set of rulers. As Kaleb made his way back to his seat, he glanced around for Nick. Still no sign of him. Interesting. He sent his fiance an encouraging smile, and received a grateful smile from Tristan.

Arabella entered the dining hall and the conversation grew more muted. She looked around the room, feigning indifference. She bowed to her parents and the rulers of Avalon, then moved to her seat, shooting Tristan a warning look as she did. She brushed off her skirts and looked around the table, catching KC's glance. She smiled at him; a smile of thanks, of nervousness, of fear.

Serena didnt even realized what was going on. She was just sitting in her chair, trying to figure out which of the twenty different emotions she felt she should show. Sadness, worry, anger, happiness... The girl didnt know anymore, so she just stared at one of the candles on the table, her eyes caught in the beauty of the flame. She knew she was a mess inside. She had probably never been a bigger mess... She just wished life was easy.

Cassia led the prince inside, setting him down on a worn, wooden stool. A rather wrinkly man with a eggplant-shaped nose shut the heavy door behind them, locking the twelve or so heavy bolts. Once they were secure, Cassia scraped another beaten stool across the rough cobblestone floor, perching on it in front of the prince. The woman gestured around the small, circular room. Men peered down at the seated prince, some scowling, some seemingly uninterested. But every eye was glued to the prince. Except the man that had bolted the door. One of his eyes was glossed over and stared at nothing in particular. "You, Prince Tristan, have stumbled upon what is known as His Royal Majesties' Band of Protectors. Bop, for short. Each one of us," She gestured at the men around them once more. "Including me, have been.. hired to protect you and your precious siblings. Don't worry, we're completely loyal." One of the men, a short troll-like man, handed her a small purple glass vial. "Ah, thank you, Ferston." she said, gently taking the tube from the man's hairy hands. "Now, if you'll just drink this.. potion, you'll be all set." The woman handed the vial to Nick, watching him encouragingly. Prince Nick eyed the glass warily, but decided that the odds of him escaping from this circle of strange men was not likely, and tipped the purple tube upside-down, all of its contents slipping down his throat. "You may, uh.. Experience strange things. For example, you may be sent to hell for a little while.." Cassia's voice slipped away from the prince's mind as he tipped backwards on the stool. The last thing he felt was heavy arms and hands supporting him, and the present faded once more.


{ DeerInYourHeadlights - I actually think it would be okay for Nick to just be in a comatose state instead of getting kidnapped all over again..

((Hey everyone! Term 1 holidays have just started for me and so yeah, I'm back home with Internet. I suppose I'll just kind of do some posts about him in his coma state?))
