Kenji Spiro / Nineteen / Tagged: Xander

It was a shock to even the vampire's systems of the stabbing, jolting pain that shot through him when the human pulled the arrow from his back. It was a good thing that he lost so much blood already in this circumstance. The man worked on him like he was a patient in some backwoods hospital which caused him to pause. This man seemed too knowledgable about these things just to be some random, eavesdropping citizen of Ember. But the reason the blood loss was a good thing despite it being an overall hinderance to the vampire was the fact the man was touching Kenji's skin which should feel like death itself. He couldn't produce the warmth a human did and though the chill never bothered him- he knew it was somewhat shocking to someone who didn't know any better. This was one of the reasons he wore thick clothing and sometimes even gloves. It gave him some warmth in case he needed to physically interact with the humans around him. Still, he made no mention of it which caused him to relax. He let the man patch him up but wouldn't take a drink of the man's liquor courage. It was okay that he lost so much blood seeing as he wouldn't die from it right away. Even now- the blood was clotting in preparation to heal itself. He grabbed the archer and gave him a slight shake to ensure he had his full attention. The man was much paler than before and was clearly putting on a front of courage in this instance. It was hard from the vampire to feel the emotions and fear that this man could be feeling due to his supernatural origins. He had no doubt he would get out of this alive. And lucky for Xander- fear often left the blood bitter in his mouth. The human wouldn't be his meal but the courage he was showing did give him a small amount of respect from Kenji who loosened his grip on his arms. "Listen very closely and stop worrying about me. If you have anything worth getting out of this dungeon alive you better start thinking about them now- cause you will need all the courage you can muster." He handed the bottle back to Xander and paused for effect. "There are two guards down here with us- the others are probably searching for the princess and Jessika. One of them has the keys on his belt- I saw them as I was hanging off of him." Hopefully, the human wouldn't question how he knew there were only two or how he could see the keys in such a dark place. If he did- well maybe his blood would be useful after all. "We need to get them close enough to disable them. I want you to call out to them that I have died in the cell. They will come and check it out. While one guard checks me it is likely the other will be watching you. With me as a distraction- you need to do whatever you can to knock the guard unconscious and I will do the same with mine. Once we do that- we get the keys and lock the guards up here." He closed his eyes briefly as a wave of dizziness hit him. He continued with his voice thick with pain, " From there- you will be able to leave the castle. But you will most likely be wanted by the crown and be a fugitive the rest of your days. If you want that life, feel free to part ways with me. If you want to clear your name, follow me to the queen where we will have a direct audience with Her Majesty. It will be dangerous- of course- but I have a... way with words." The last part was mostly sarcastic but there was some truth to it. As the general of the army of Runeth, he has met the queen before on two different occasions. She would most likely recognize him or even remember the uniform he is wearing.

Did.... did she just say, ' Vampires'? Letting out a huff, she stood up again. '" your right...It is probably best for me to just go take some time and rest... we'll work on returning to the castle tomarrow.... Here's just to hoping Aralynn can keep herself together for at least that much." with that she began walking back torwards the Inn, checking back every now and then to make sure Jessica was still following her. " However...how are we going to pay for a night's stay? I don't know about you, but I don't have any funds on me at the moment.''

Once Aralynn began walking off, he followed after her by shadow, staying out of the heir's sight. He made sure to stick to the shadows until Aralynn stopped wherever it was she was heading. After verifying nobody was around, he let himself show, leaning against the wall behind Aralynn. " Hmm, you're cooking eh? That should be entertaining. None the less, it's nice to see you're alright.I'm glad those assasins never made it to you. However, I'm afraid your little plan didn't go quite so smoothly as you seem to think. Yes, potential suspects were likely captured, but the heiress isn't on this castle's grounds anymore. I can tell she was here not too long ago, but she's not on these grounds. Her trail seems to be escorted by an unknown entity. I can verify she is unharmed, but I can not verify she is with an enemy or an ally. " he then stood up straight, moving to stand in front of Aralynn. " In addition, make sure you eat a filling and healthy meal tonight. It is of your best interest to do so.'' He then gave her an innocent smile. " anywho, I understand thing's have been rather eventful around here. Figure anything more out yet?"

The fox kept her head tilted, thinking Akira looked confused...Shaking herself, she huffed when Akira said she did need rest, because it sounded like she didn’t believe Jessika about being a vampire as well as Kenji. She flicked her tail a few times, breathing lowly, then shuddered. She needed to feed, but if Akira wasn’t believing the existence of vampires...how was she to get a meal? She didn’t want to...but she’d heard the stories of vampires not feeding going crazy. Again, she didn’t want to end up like that...She yiped when Akira mentioned money... “Erm...wasn’t really thinking of that, y’know? Kenji told me to get you out of there, then you said you wanted to get back to the castle tonight...” she sighed.

He tilted his head as he looked at her a moment, squeaking when she put a hand on his head...He huffed when she mussed it up, wanting to push the offending hand away, yet he didn’t. He sighed softly, before noticing her smile. He hummed as he relaxed a bit, though...Shaking his head, he scolded himself, especially when she spoke up to him. “I most definitely did not...Akira stopped me. I...almost saw the victim die, though...He definitely did, they kicked me from the room.” he said, with a bit of a whimper. Of course he was on edge...He sighed once more, taking notice of her gentle tone soon after. He shrugged at her, huffing when called trouble as a pair with Akira. He smiled, however, when she told him she still loved him, nodding gently at her when she moved her hand off. He nodded at her, though added “I...don’t think I will need anything else...Um, yes, in an hour.” he said, with yet one more nod to the queen. He chuckled when told he could judge her cooking, saying “Okay.” then squeaking at the kiss, though the blush was one of embarrassment...He called back “Okay.” about the curfew, though definitely wasn’t leaving the palace, the grounds at least, again tonight...maybe...He wanted to read, but didn’t want to bother her about whether to get new books from the library...

She shrugged when he said it shouldn’t be considered an honor. Yet still, she would consider it such, and so then she let out a small sigh thereafter. She offered a small smile when he said she’d impress him if she could actually find a use for the small blade. She tilted her head as he reached for something on his belt, then found and removed it. She hummed as she reached out for it, but then paused...Would he put it on her belt, on the short shorts she had under her dress, for her? “Un...Fallon, will you put on my belt for me?” she asked, lifting the ddress enough to actually see the shorts. She sighed as he said he’d heard things, saying “As long as you don’t lay a han$ on them...there won’t be a problem.”

Ren Smiled as he watched Theo transform. “I like your hairstyle it looks much more vampire like then mine does.” He surveyed the area and looked for Ruby. “When you think of a vampire you don’t normally picture a long blond haired man in a fur coat.” Chuckled Ren. He watched as a Crowd began to form near a dark corner. “Wait..somethings happening over there..wonder why there’s police there.” Ren looked around with concern,he felt Ruby’s presence around there..somewhere..

Ruby ducked into a shadow as a detective arrived at the scene. Hopefully no vampires were in the area,that way it would seem like a typical murder. She scanned the area for Ren,she could sense his very heavy presence around. She could also smell his signature cologne that nobody else in the vampire kingdom would even think of wearing.

Aralynn had been heading to her room to put her hair up when her new acquaintance decided it was alright to make more of an appearance. She first heard him speak behind her, which gave her time to correct her demeanor. Of course he had seen the gushy maternal-like side of her already thanks to watching her and Akihito. That fact didn't stop the teen from dropping back into her dry guarded public persona she used around her people or guards. She accepted Duality's deal to keep her family safe, not out of trust. Trust or no trust Aralynn had the gut feeling that he was the best chance at keeping them from harm. That was all she needed. The young queen looked up at the male as he stood right in front of her the second she had turned around. "For the future watch your distance and the sneaking up on me if you can restrain yourself will you? I happen to have a dagger hidden on me at all times and can use it.", said Aralynn warningly, "And I am sure Akira is fine. You don't know my sister. What I said about her and Aki isn't a lie after all, but should someone not be out there looking for her?" Looking away from Duality she ignored the comment about her cooking the blonde teen continued, "No nothing as of now. Not that I have had much time to look into things. I plan on doing some late reading tonight."

Theo grinned at the compliment. “Heh, thanks? It’s sure obvious despite how I had it before I got turned.” He explained quietly, not wanting to draw any unneeded attention. At the other’s remark about his own appearance, the darker haired man shook his head. “Nah, it suits you. Besides, isn’t “vampire-looking” the best option? Some charming guy with a coat wouldn’t even prompt that idea.” He persuaded. Theo suddenly saw red tint the edges of his vision for a moment as he was overwhelmed by the smell of a lot of living people. He was starving but there was no way he could pull anything off right there; especially not with officials so close by, as Ren had pointed out.

With a split-second decision, Theodore looked to his companion and threw him a cheeky salute before slinking to a connecting alleyway. “I’ll take care of it, mystery guy.” Though he had little energy left to stay in a shifted state, if he could smell blood he could use that to fuel his next movements. An animal attack wouldn’t seem too out of the ordinary in the city either, and though he’d have to stay low for a bit it wouldn’t out any of the vampires. Thus, with what was left of his abilities Theo turned himself into a dog.

The now-Belgian Shepherd turned on his food-driven instincts, bounding out from the alleyway and sinking his teeth into the calf of the detective. He barked out a snarl after getting a taste, and immediately let go to headbutt the back of his knee and bring him down. The man cursed loudly and tried to swat at the dog with a gloved hand, catching him across the face a few times and whistling sharply to disorient him.

Xander sat back with a heaved sigh after completely sure that the other man’s bandages were tight enough that they would not come off. The actions hadn’t taken too much out of him, however the archer had taken on his own fair share of a beating. It was nothing close to being pierced by arrows but he definitely had some new scrapes and bruises from the bushes he had crossed through and, more obviously, being hit by the butts of the soldiers’ weapons. Now that the excitement had mostly drained from the room the adrenaline that had run through his veins was wearing off.

The man stiffened when he was grabbed, but didn’t try to break away. Kenji was his only way out, and he probably wouldn’t mean to hurt him after what they had gone through together. Through an obviously hesitant gaze Xander listened to the general closely. His expression hardened a bit at the vampire’s talk of courage, taking the bottle back and lifting it. “Yeah, I’ve got something.” He muttered and moved quickly to take a gulp. It burned his throat but it was nothing he couldn’t handle- unlike whatever this guy’s plan was starting to sound like. Pocketing the drink, the hunter moved to a crouch and stayed silent the entire time Kenji was planning.

Throughout the briefing the marksman had a doubtful look on his face. There was still fear, but it had mostly resolved to a desperate hope that Xander knew in the back of his mind would not save them. They were both as good as dead with or without the plan, though he’d play along with his dying companion’s wishes. While there was surely a small chance that they could pull it off, Xander guessed that there would still be guards riddled about the place in the case that the assassins from before returned. He was about to point out this fact when Kenji began swaying ever so slightly and Xander planted a hand on his shoulder to steady him. Slight worry creased his brow at the apparent dizziness.

“Planning is all good and done, but how will it do us any good if you faint in the middle of it?” He barked quietly. The information that the other gave about the guards certainly stirred some suspicion, but through narrowed eyes he didn’t vocally question it. The thought that Kenji was an assassin himself plagued his thoughts for only a second before his attention turned to the arrows he had taken and the idea was quickly scrapped. That still left the question of how he knew there were two soldiers; the keys were probably obvious with the noise that they made, but not so much their guards. Just when Xander was about to ask, his eyes fluttered over his cellmate’s face. Sheesh, a few more breaths from him and he’d be out- he couldn’t accuse him of anything just yet if he wanted to keep his conscious clear for when he died. The hunter grimaced as his mind went over their plan again but nodded nonetheless.

“We better hope your guesses are right. Ah, and I have no plans of having charges I’m not guilty of.” The light brunet breathed, clapping a gentle hand on his shoulder before shifting his position closer to the center of the room. “Hey!” He shouted, tossing a glance to the hallway outside of the barred chambers. “Are you going to leave me in a room with a dead man?” He followed the script, though the thought rose that yes, they probably could and would. No one tended to care about prisoners even if they were freaked out by another’s carcass. Xander would have to come up with something else to help their situation. “You wouldn’t have anyone to question if I died from his tainted blood, would you?” The man called out, trying to suppress the resentment in his voice.

Xander shot another look to Kenji. He was extremely good at playing dead, enough so that he had to force himself not to go over and check his pulse himself.

Ren watched Theo attack the detective. He knew it wasn’t a good into try and stop a hungry vampire. So he stood out in the crowd, observing from a distance. It was pretty easy for him to blend in with the humans despite his tall intimidating appearance. Ren wondered if he could get closer to what the detective was looking at,without causing any attention. He cursed under his breath when he saw the corpse of the plump woman, his most recent victims. Soon a swift movement caught his attention. It was coming from behind the detective and Theo.

Ren made his way to the sound and carefully made sure he wasn’t in the detective or Theo’s way. Two different colored lights seemed to shine from where the sound came from.

Ruby had watched the entire thing happen. She watched the blood hungry vampire and shook her head silently. Surely a starving vampire would attack a Human in front on all these people,especially when their all on alert. Ruby shifted into am owl and sat in a low hanging tree. She hooted quietly as to fool the approaching footsteps. Ruby knew someone was coming her direction but she didn’t know if it was a vampire or human,but it was best to play it safe.

As the footsteps got closer. Ruby tensed. She smelled a familiar scent,it smelled like Ren but she wasn’t too sure... Ruby was tempted to get herself involved with the detective and the attacking vampire but she didn’t want to reveal herself to whoever was in front of her.

He hummed as he shook out his dark hair then did, in fact, decide to go outside. She’d said curfew at ten, right? Well, he needed to come back for dinner anyhow. Shaking his head, he hummed as he trotted to the doors and out, again not having guards with him. He knew he should bring at least one, if not two or three, but...he just couldn’t bring himself to care, again. Shaking his head, he glanced about as he reached the streets, heading down them. He soon came to an odd scene: was that a dog attacking a detective? He turned away, figuring the detective could get rid of the dog, seeing a tall blonde guy heading to an alley...Well, humans could be blonde. He still crept after him anyhow, gasping when he saw eyes in the alley, a fat woman not moving there either...He backed into a wall, gaspi;g louder as that kinda hurt...

(idk if Ren needs to feed, but feel free. just don’t kill Aki...)

Ren didn’t notice the young prince following him. He looked at the pair of eyes and smiled, showing his fangs a bit. Ruby hooted angrily and flew at him with her claws raised. Ren just sighed and pushed the bird away gently. “Ruby I’m done fighting! I just want to talk to you.” Ruby hissed and shifted to her normal form. “I don’t want to have any conversation with you,you don’t care about anyone’s feelings you selfish brat.” She kicked a stone at Ren but he swiftly caught it in his hand.

“Now Ruby I’m no selfish person, you’ve seen me give you everything I have, even when I didn’t want to.” Ren leaned on the wall and pushed his hair out of his face. Ruby crossed her arms. “Didn’t I say don’t talk to me and that we’re not friends anymore!”
