Atlanta Hunter
Phoenix Squad Commander
Location: Platform 12A --> Train
Tags: Ella, Quinn, Onyx, Brenn

Atlanta moved forward when Quinn asked for help boarding, but their trusty ex-princess had already handled it. The commander smiled and followed them up the steps, keeping a close eye in case they needed more assistance.
The train compartment was empty inside too. Atlanta was certain the other rebels had arranged these circumstances, but she wasn't the type to ask too many questions. Things were running smoothly, and she would handle any disturbances as they came. The commander wandered down the aisle at a calm pace, checking over her teammates to ensure their conditions hadn't worsened. Grey eyes went wide in concern as her gaze fell upon Quinn.
Atlanta was already rummaging around in her bag as she approached the table. "I have some left from last mission," She told Ella and Quinn as she pulled out the tiny pill bottle. She'd taken it to Fivana, in case the squad experienced headaches from the obnoxious noise. A few tablets still remained.
"These aren't very strong," Atlanta explained, handing the pill bottle over to Ella. "They'll take the edge off the pain at least - unless you have something better."

Gavotte Tenuto
Water manipulation
Location: Train
Tags: Jen

Gavotte felt like a wound-up spring slowly uncoiling. Now that the mission was over, he could finally sort through the overwhelming experiences and relax. In all honesty, field work made his heart pound with all the uncertainties and dangers flying in his face. A job back at Headquarters, maybe in the Intelligence Department, would suit him far better.
Still, he remained on the Phoenix Squad. There was a particular reason that enticed him to stay... in fact, she was taking a seat beside him right now. The waterbender prayed his (admittedly meager) courage wouldn't fail him now.
"It's reserved alright. I was expecting a certain beauty, umm... the queen of fire," Gavotte teased as a blush dusted his face. "Have you seen her? Tall, blonde, beautiful but deadly with a bow and arrows..."

Ardai Fairchild
Shadow puppets
Location: Platform 12A
Tags: Phoenix Squad, Aisling

Ardai's face changed from excitement to horror as Aisling stepped in front. He frantically tried to stop, but he'd built up too much momentum in his eagerness to reach his friends. Crushing his much smaller friend seemed inevitable - until a sudden breeze swept towards him. This bought him just enough time to veer to the side without any disasters.
"Wow, thanks!" Even as he bent over in exhaustion, Ardai still wore a huge grin. The realization finally crept into his thick skull that he'd almost collided with an invisible shield. Even an idiot like him could figure it out. Why else would Aisling be standing in front, protecting him from seemingly empty air?
"Pretty please, could you let me in?" He looked up at Aisling from his hunched-over position, hands still braced on his knees. "I need to hug Qu- uhh, I need to see everyone."

Alastair Brungard
Prince of Delra
Location: Train
Tags: Robin, Demetria

The Prince watched in silence as the two lasses blindfolded their other captive. He did take note of Robin's handkerchief, appreciating her taste in color. Of course, such thoughts were only hinted at through an approving smile before he turned away. He expected the rebels to blindfold him shortly - best to take in his surroundings first.
Alastair noticed the immediate problem at once. The telekinetic lad appeared to be in distress from the terrible wounds he had suffered, a sight that brought a keen stab of guilt. Had the prince successfully convinced their attackers to back down, none of this would have happened. The knowledge twisted like a blade in his heart.
"My deepest apologies for what happened. Is there anything I can do for your friend?" Alastair spoke on instinct, directed towards no one in particular. Under any other circumstances, he would have rushed the lad to hospital, leveraging his privilege of royalty to ensure the rebel was given priority treatment.
Now Alastair could not even offer a cup of chamomile tea. Infuriating, to say the least.

Sycamore Jin
Phoenix
Location: Prison
Tags: Aida, other recruits

Sycamore nodded in understanding, a smile on her face. "That's alright, I'm sure any change of scenery would be nice. The books are a great idea too!" She picked the leftover books off the ground, from ones too big for the shelves (like 1001 Almost Life-Size Thrinton Skyscrapers), to ones that clashed with the overall aesthetic (like Demons of Detention Hall).
"Ah, I think we're ready now." Sycamore led the way out of the cell. "Oooh, do you have any color schemes in mind already? I used to be friends with Leroy and I know he loves bright colors."
She paused for a moment as a sudden stab of unexplained emotion jolted through her heart. It was a keen discomfort, the sense of having committed some awful harm without meaning to. What is this feeling? I didn't hurt anyone, but I feel like I did. Her trimmed feather-brows were furrowed in bewilderment.

Aisling waited for the inevitable clash but was surprised to find Ardai veering to the side and stopping next to her. "I can't take credit for that, it was mostly Quinn. I just was a human blockade" she hummed with amusement. However the expression of cheerfulness that warmed her gaze quickly darkened at the sound of the beginning of Quinn's name. She knew that he was going to be looking forward to seeing his friend which is why she should have been more prepared for what he was going to say. Glancing over her shoulder she watched as the last members of the two other teams boarded the train. Allowing the shield to come down she took those moments to try and think of a way to break it to her friend that Quinn had been injured. There was no real gentle way of saying it without causing the tall red head to think of the worst. "I'm not sure how to say this so excuse me for being painfully blunt. Quinn got stabbed, he is stable right now but I don't think that launching a hug at him would be good" she said reaching out to give Ardai's arm a squeeze. Then she took a step back and swiveled on her heel as she headed towards the shield. "You guys can board now" she told them as she slipped onto the train. Making her way over to Quinn first she paused a few feet away to watch what was happening. Right off the bat she could tell that she would just get in the way but she desperately needed to speak with Ella. With that goal in mind she slipped over to Ella and leaned close to her to whisper in her ear. "When it calms down I need to speak to you about some news regarding the Phoenix Squad" she whispered as gently as possible. Pulling back she glanced around the train compartment. It was thankfully devoid of all life aside from her own people. As her gaze roamed over the compartment she noticed an empty seat next to Alastair. Striding over she paused in front of Alastair. "Is this seat taken?" she asked curiously.

Robin looked from Demetria to Wayne, sighing.
"Do you think we should keep an eye on him? He is unconscious, but.." Robin would've highly preferred to not have stayed near the disgusting rot pile any longer, but she didn't want to leave such a dangerous person unguarded. The sooner we get home, the better. Robin already felt sorry for whoever would have to guard him. From what she'd seen during the battle, his mouth was about as foul as the rest of his being. How much of this did the Prince have to put up with? Even if Robin didn't trust him, she still felt bad for him.

Aida helped to gather some books as well, and stepped out of the cell. She pondered Sycamore's request, turning to face her.
"Hmm, I'm not sure. Maybe district themed? Like, Fivana and Twodor and stuff- uh.. Sycie, are you okay??" Aida paused her flown of ideas, looking concerned for her previously feathered friend. Sycamore looked really.. off. Aida shifted her books in her arms, freeing up one.
"Do you want me to carry your stuff? I don't mind."

"It's truly nothing." Ella replied gently to another thanks, this time from Quinn. She genuinely was just happy to be able to do something, even without a power or any prowess with weapons. Working in the medical ward had always made her feel helpful and, though her role as a spy was perhaps more important, there's something about sitting around a palace while your friend's and family work away under the ground that makes a person feel helpless.
"Oh, of course!" Quinn had asked for painkillers, which meant his calmness earlier must have just been from adrenaline. Ella quickly rummaged through her first aid pouch but Atlanta had beaten her to it. She accepted the bottle of tablets and shook out two, which she offered to Quinn. "I wish I did. Painkillers suitable for impalement aren't the sort of thing you can just go and fetch from the chemists." She was sure the medical ward back at headquarters would have something better, but this was it for now.
After she'd spoken Aisling slipped by, and whispered something into her ear. Ella's eyes immediately went wide with concern, whatever Aisling wanted to talk about it she was certain it was important. Still, she discretely squeezed her friend's arm, in both a gesture of comforting friendship and to indicate that she understood, and then watched as she made her way to site besides Alistair. Slightly distracted she turned back to her patient and the others at the table. "Right... um.. so..we need to clean the wound..." She shook a bottle of saline solution. "And then pack it." She pulled a sterile packet of gauze from the pouch and placed it on the table. "Make sure you take those painkillers first though." She reminded herself to ask if she could run a session with all the trainee rebels on why not to remove a blade from a stab wound. "I'll probably need an extra pair of hands too." As she spoke she began to rub her hands with an antiseptic wipe. "Quinn, are you able to get that hoodie off?"

Brenn nodded miserably as Onyx spoke words of wisdom. "I know you're right." He murmured, "I just wish it hadn't felt so easy." He shook his head and brightened his expression. "We did it though. It's done." He was sure he'd said that already, but it was his only other resounding thought. "And that was.. smoother? than we thought."
He glanced a little worriedly over at Quinn but Ella was giving medical-sounding instructions that seemed like they made sense, plus Atlanta was here. It was impossible for him to see Atlanta as anything less than capable. Quinn would be alright, he had to be.
"We have the Prince and it seems like he likes us, right?" Brenn continued, returning to his usual path of spouting optimism and attempting to ignore any other thoughts. It kinda worked. "So.. that means we're on our way now. We'll have inside knowledge. There's more hope than ever."

Atlanta Hunter
Phoenix Squad Commander
Location: Train
Tags: Ella, Quinn, Aisling, Brenn

Worry creased the commander's forehead as Ella indicated she had no stronger painkillers. The general-purpose ones from Atlanta's purse were better than nothing, but she still wished she could do more. Despite having no medical expertise whatsoever, the commander listened intently to Ella's explanation of what needed to happen next. "I'll help the best I can, but I have no experience. I'll follow any directions you give me," She explained.
Atlanta took a quick assessment of Quinn's hoodie and decided help would be best. Any sweater required some effort to remove when injured, especially the sleeves and collar. Atlanta remembered struggling with one while recovering from a dislocated shoulder. Thankfully her father came to her aid, but otherwise she would've been stuck. Quinn was smarter than that, but... his pain and injury were also worse. "If you raise your hands, I can help pull the hoodie off."
Although she couldn't divert her attention with a response right now, she did take note of Brenn's optimistic comments. That kind of attitude was important to a rebel squad, especially at times like these. She also noticed Aisling had briefly stopped by to whisper something into Ella's ear. Clearly a private matter, so the commander wouldn't probe. She did have a nagging suspicion of what it was about though.

Ardai stared at his friend with wide, disbelieving eyes for a good five seconds. He was half expecting her to pat him on the back and reassure him it was some kind of terrible joke. But that made no sense either. It wasn't funny, and Aisling would never do something so cruel.
Heart sinking in horrified anticipation, he followed up the steps and entered the train. The color drained from his face as he saw Quinn, terribly hurt and bloody, surrounded by teammates working to keep him alive. Ardai clenched his fists until his knuckles turned white. He wanted to rush over and gather his friend into a hug, but given his reckless impulsivity, barging into the situation would only make things worse.
His eyes darted around the train compartment and fell on the next-best thing. Prince Alastair. Blinded by irrational anger, all Ardai could think was that monster. "You!" He barked, stalking forward to confront the green-eyed demon. Ardai pointed an accusing finger towards Quinn, trembling with rage. "Did you... did you do this?"

Alastair Brungard
Prince of Delra
Location: Train
Tags: Aisling, Ardai

The Prince had been lost in thought, conflicted between manners and duty. He understood he was expected to stay put, to be cooperative, but his conscience screamed otherwise - demanded he act even if his efforts would prove fruitless. He had to remind himself that now was a terrible time to explain himself to Ella, and he could not offer practical aid to the injured rebels. Yet such admonitions offered no comfort against the guilt of inaction.
Alastair appeared to calm visibly when the kind lass from earlier appeared, breaking his cycle of internal conflict. "Not at all. Please take a seat," He told Aisling with a warm smile.
Perhaps striking up a conversation would take his mind off the growing itch to leap to these strangers' aid. However, not another word had passed his lips when a redheaded youngster stormed towards him, hazel eyes ablaze with grief and fury. At this point, Alastair did not even try to deny the allegations.
"Even though my blade is clean of his blood, my conscience is not. You are right to blame me," He said, his tone calm but heavy with remorse. "When we encountered a team of Royal Guard, I attempted to negotiate and failed. These injuries could have been prevented had I suggested a different course of action."

Sycamore Jin
Phoenix

Sycamore shifted her weight from side to side, uneasy and embarrassed for acting so strangely. "Sorry about that. I'm not sure what happened, I just felt so weird for a second. Maybe it's something to do with not having feathers all of a sudden?" She tilted her head, looking over the stubble lining her arms. It was a little itchy now that she paid attention to it. But itchiness didn't normally lead to a sudden surge of unexplained alien emotions...
She soon decided it was useless to dwell on negative things out of her control. Now that the feeling had passed, the phoenix straightened up and a smile returned to her face. "I'm good, but thanks! Also I love the idea of district-themed rooms," She said as she led the way down the hall. "Pastels would be nice and calming too."
It wasn't long until they encountered the first prison cell. Its dark-haired occupant was sitting on the bed, facing away from them. He had a wispy build and hunched shoulders slumped in exhausted resignation. "Yes?"

Aida tilted her head slightly. It probably did feel pretty weird to not have feathers after having them for your entire life.
"Oh, that makes sense. I wish you could've kept them, too." A slightly darker hue flicked through Aida's bright pink eyes as her voice took on a slightly melancholy tone.
"Still, you look pretty either way." Aida added with a cheerful smile, following her friend down the row of cells. When they arrived at the first cell, Aida felt her heart breaking for the terribly sad and exhausted looking prisoner. He looks so sad!! Hopefully the books and stuff WI cheer him up?
"Oh, we brought you some books and stuff. What's your favorite color, by the way?" Aida looked around the cell, planning out a simple way of making it look more cheerful without needing to actually go in it.

Quinn felt a rush of guilt at the way the other's look at him, it seemed his exposing his pain hadn't been a good move. Storing that information away he could almost feel the shift as it started. He was coming to the conclusion that he should keep the pain from affecting him until he was alone. Right now that did no good but with that thought he was able to draw upon a little strength. Sitting up straight he reached for the painkillers that their commander had brought over for him. Casting them both a thankful smirk he knocked the two pills back and closed his eyes as he fought to bring himself into the present. The pain was already there and there was nothing he could do to put that dam back up but he could force himself to act as though the pain killers where working better than they had originally thought. Though to be honest even painkillers took time to take effect so he had time to get himself together. Turning his gaze to Ella he gave her a small shrug. "It's okay Ella, anything to take the edge off is good in book" he said in an effort to make sure she didn't feel bad. His attention was drawn to their shortest member when she approached them and spoke in a low voice to Ella. He could make out every word though he tried his best to tune it out and forget each word after. It wasn't his place and clearly Aisling had wanted it to be just between her and Ella.

He was drawn back into the conversation when he heard Ella start talking about the wound. Mostly it was about what she needed to do but the last piece was directed at him. She wanted him to take off his hoodie, a task that was one he wasn't looking forward to but it had to be done. Without skipping a beat he reached out his good hand, releasing his wound with his bloodied hand, and grabbed the sleeve of his hoodie as he pulled his arm inside. With that move he had his bloodied left hand clutching his wound again. As he reached to peel the bottom of the hoodie away from his wound he paused and glanced at Atlanta. It was only then that he had heard her. Quickly peeling the hoodie away from the wound he then raised his hand. His expression was carefully passive. "Than..." he started but was cut off by the sound of his friend voice. Snapping to attention he turned enough to see Ardai. "ARDAI! He didn't do anything to cause this, it was the smelly gentleman over there. Captain Whiny Wayne. All-star tried to make the fool see reason and they chose to instead command their solider to attack instead of negotiating" he said gently. The only shout was his friends name to get his attention. It was his hope that if he could draw his friend attention over to him. With that he motioned for Ardai to come over and patted the seat near him. Then he turned his attention back to Atlanta and raised his hand again so that she could pull the sweater off. As soon as he had raised his hand he peered at Ella out of the corner of his eye. "I won't have to remove my t-shirt too will I? I would rather bleed out than remove it" he told her in a soft voice. The scars that littered his torso where more than any phoenix squad member should have, in fact it was more than any rebel should have.

Aisling felt the squeeze from Ella and felt a rush of guilt, she didn't want to be the one delivering this news. However she made sure to keep those thoughts off her face and instead offered Ella a tiny smile before she was sweeping away. Her smile turned more genuine when Alastair told her that the seat was free. Taking a seat next to him she unbuttoned the top two buttons of her shirt and rubbed her neck awkwardly. Opening her mouth she started to voice her thanks before she was interrupted by Ardai. The tall red head was angry that Quinn had been injured, unfortunately he was directing his anger at the wrong person. Opening her mouth to say something to him Alastair beat her to it, though he didn't exactly clear his name. With a slight frown she opened her mouth to correct him but was interrupted again by Quinn, who despite the bloodied appearance seemed to be doing okay. Doubt flickered in her mind, he couldn't really be that okay. Sure he seemed to be in pain but at the same time he still seemed much to calm for someone who had just been stabbed. Pulling her gaze away from Quinn she looked at her tall friend."Ardai Quinn is right, if we are to be blaming anyone it would be the one who ordered the attack and the person who actually stabbed Quinn. We have the man who ordered the attack and he will face justice for those crimes. For now why don't you join Quinn. I am sure your presence will offer him some much needed strength" she said a gently and as kindly as she could. She didn't want Ardai rushing over to Wayne next, especially when Quinn had waved him over. Glancing at Alastair out of the corner of her eye she pondered what to say next.

Keelan-Rose Major

Keelan had followed her fellow squad members to the train, closing her eyes as she sat down. She was lucky. With her power, she only suffered minor injuries - a pulled muscle (from being over-excited about flipping that one guard), a jammed finger, some bruises and scratches - where some of her friends and allies had come out battered and bloodied. Ella and Atlanta were tending to Quinn, who seemed to be in a lot of pain, but other than that, everyone seemed to be alive. Tired, worn down... asleep, but alive. The captain of the royal guards, Wayne, was sitting unconscious across the train, and all her friends seemed to be tense and cautious around him. She debated going to talk to someone, but decided against it, not wanting to interrupt anyone’s conversations. She would be able to catch up at headquarters anyways, in familiar territory with familiar people and familiar food. She smiled to herself, her eyes still closed, and started humming quietly. She hoped she didn’t disturb anyone with the jolly, celebratory tune, but she just couldn’t contain herself. She was a good singer, and enjoyed it, so assumed that no one would be too upset. Opening her eyes again, she locked hers with the Prince’s, quickly looking away. She would get to talk to him later, but for now she would stay positive. After all... they had won this battle.

Robin decided that keeping an eye on Wayne would be I'm everyone's best interest. She sat down, keeping a seat of space between her and the captain. She looked up at Demetria, folding her hands neatly in her lap.
"Feel free to go sit down, I can keep an eye on this.. scum." Robin gestured towards the unconscious captain with a sigh. She felt guilty for not doing much in the battle, and wanted to do something to make up for her inaction. I hope Quinn is doing okay, he got hurt pretty bad... A flicker of worry crossed over Robin's face as she looked at her teammate in his exhausted, sorry state. If-- When they got Quinn back to the medical ward, he'd be alright. Robin fidgeted with the strap on her bag, before pulling out a few strings she'd knotted together. She started to braid the strings to keep her hands busy while she waited out the painstakingly long train ride.

Atlanta Hunter
Phoenix Squad Commander
Location: Train
Tags: Ella, Quinn

The commander turned her head as commotion broke out across the train. Ardai had just arrived and was immediately reacting with impulsive rage, red-faced as he confronting the Prince. Before Atlanta could de-escalate the situation however, Quinn himself dealt with it. She was admittedly impressed at his quick thinking and clear head despite his condition. It looked like the painkillers had worked wonders on him, even though that didn't make sense - the medication wasn't that strong or fast-acting. Atlanta didn't mention it however, just gently helped him remove the sweater.
As for the t-shirt, Atlanta didn't touch it. Council had given her a fair share of information on the recruits, so she was well aware of the scars that lay underneath, crisscrossing his body in numbers pretty much unheard of. The commander had never asked about them and didn't plan to. "I'm sure keeping it on would be fine, right?" She said to Ella with a hopeful look.

Tempers flared brighter with every word out of that tyrant scum's mouth. Ardai stomped forward, winding up to bash in that evil murderer's arrogant face, when an unexpected voice snapped him out of his rage fit. Quinn.
Fist frozen in midair, the redhead turned so fast he almost gave himself whiplash. "W-what?" He sputtered, still furious but reasonable this time. Ardai cared more about Quinn being okay, so the actual content of his words took a while to sink in. Aisling's comments helped him finally come to terms with it.
"Oh. Umm..." Ardai stammered, now looking between Aisling and Alastair. He put his now-unclenched hands awkwardly behind his back. "Sorry about that. I mean I know I'm dynamite, but I promise I'm not always blowing up like this. Ah... I'll go sit down now." His face was turning red again, this time out of embarrassment and not anger. He crept away with a sheepish smile and snuck into the seat Quinn had apparently saved for him.
"You'll be fine, right?" Desperation was evident in his voice as he tried to keep an optimistic attitude. "You don't need to answer! I know you will be. Hey, uhhhh... what's a hothead's favorite snack? Firecrackers!"

Alastair Brungard
Prince of Delra
Location: Train

Alastair braced himself before the punch struck, but the blow never came. Another rebel had interjected and stopped his furious comrade in his tracks. The Prince was surprised to learn the intervention came from the injured lad, and made sure to keep a mental note of this.
Aisling followed up the telekinetic's words with her own. Alastair also noted the names she mentioned - Quinn appeared to have remarkable composure, while first impressions of Ardai implied he was loyal but reckless. Alastair felt himself gaining a small understanding of the different rebels' dynamics. Aisling herself, for example, seemed to play a nurturing role that the Prince found quite endearing.
Alastair had a moment of taking in his surroundings again. To be honest, the sudden encounter with the angry rebel had worried him a little. Almost equally worrying was the presence of an unfamiliar voice humming a cheerful tune. As Alastair looked in that direction, the singer made brief eye contact with him before she turned away. Alastair's brows knitted in concern. This behavior confused him a little - was she alright? Perhaps she was disoriented from the recent fight.
The Prince decided not to dwell on it. He was not the best consultant for treating trauma, nor did he have a complete understanding of these rebels' personalities.
Alastair turned back to Aisling with a soft smile. "Thank you, Lady Aisling. I appreciate what you and your friend did back there," He told her. "May I ask, is there anything in particular I should be aware of? I do not wish to step on my new friends' toes, so it seemed appropriate to ask a fellow dancer."

Keith Marshall
Prisoner
Location: Prison cell

Keith had long given up on tracking the passage of time. Locked away in this underground prison, day and night became relative concepts. Guards patrolled this corridor at all hours, but none spoke to him. Not that he was interested in having conversations at this point.
He heard footsteps approaching down the hallway, and then an unfamiliar voice sounded from outside his cell. Keith heaved a sigh and turned to face them. Two young women stood there, both holding large stacks of books. The smaller of the two clarified it was for him... and asked him his favorite color. Keith immediately assumed this was some kind of test.
"Hello," He murmured, voice shaky from lack of use. He cleared his throat before speaking again. "Thanks for the books, it'll be nice to have something to read. As for colors, I'm partial to olive green. Why?" Keith regarded the two girls with doubtful but not hostile eyes. If this was a test, it was certainly a weird one.
"You're here to talk about Fivana, aren't you?" Keith sighed, greatly misunderstanding why the girls were here. "I'm ready now. I've thought about my actions."
