Carter nodded to both girls. "I came here with my mate Payton, she's like my little sis. Anyway, this is my second year here. Payton and I where supposed to send off a lantern, but she was busy, unfortunately." He spoke kindly through his accent, while Riptide tried to bite at the incoming waves.

Hearing his question, Lola gave a small laugh and nodded her head. "Mhm! They are like human houses, but they are somewhat different. They are made out of different materials, so they could be underwater." She responded, not seeming to mind the many questions. In fact, she had a few questions for the human. Reaching forward, she grabbed her bottle of soda and took a sip of it. "I remember you mentioning movies earlier. What is a movie?" She inquired, her blue eyes filling with curiosity.

Not having much to say, Thomas fell silent and proceeded to watch the colorful lanterns. He rested his hand on top of Carla's head, allowing his broad shoulders to slump down. Silently, he wished that they could have a lantern festival every month. He liked to come out and watch them float over the water. His mom and stepfather enjoyed them too. Though, of course, he knew that they did not come to the dock. They were probably watching the scene from the house. He felt kinda.. envious? He wanted to watch the lanterns with someone. Well, he had Carla, and there was a girl sitting next to him. But that was not what he meant.

Walking onto the dock, Daniel held onto the lantern between his hands. He noticed that others were releasing their lanterns, so he quickly moved to reach them. He stretched his arms out and released his lantern into the sky. A grin formed on his lips, his brown eyes following his lantern until he could no longer tell it apart from the other lanterns.

Marie nodded and giggled at Riptide. "How old is Payton?" She asked lookin at him.

Hayden looked at her. "I agree with that, but I don't want to burn myself on hot pizza."

"She's 17, and if I had a twin she'd be the one." Carter chuckled. "Do either of you have siblings, really close friends?" he asked in response.

The brown haired teen walked swiftly to the beach, the warm breeze blowing through her hair. She was quite far away from any signs of life, to her knowledge. There was an unusually splashing sound, but Payton thought nothing of it. Pulling her shirt over her head, a black bikini top covered her chest. She kicked off her pants, black board shorts underneath, and leaped into the water. as soon as her body was engulfed in the cool sea, a light grey mermaid tail bound her legs together. Completely shifted, Payton broke the surface of the water.

Marie smiled. "Not really." She said and looked around. "It's my first year here, so I guess your my only friend."

Kyler saw a girl jump into the water and become a mermaid. He swam over to her and surfaced next to her. "Hello." He said looking at her.

"Wow, well you've got us two." He gestured to Opal. "I hope you find other friends, hanging around with the same people can get annoying sometimes .Trust me I know." Carter replied, not trying to be hard or trying to get them to leave. Just simply stating his knowledge.

Payton squeaked, startled, as a head popped up next to her. She scrambled backwards, floundering like a fish. Her eyes, which where huge in surprise, changed colors at least three times.

Larkai shook her head and ran out to the dock. She nervously walked up to Thomas and swallowed. "T-Thomas...I wanted to know...if you wanted to hang out with me?...you dont have to if you dont want to...I understand..." she said softly. She looked away almost sad and scared. She didnt want him to think she was weird...even though she was half mermaid...
