"Oh Rena," she said, not knowing what else to say. "Would he consider going back on the deal, whatever it was, if he knew how you feel? He won't want to be the one who causes you misery. Even if I don't know much about being in love or being loved, I know that much." She offered another sympathetic smile, trying to show her sister that she was there for her.

"It's Kaleb." Serena replied, looking at Arabella as she forced her tears away. "He won't, and I don't want him to since he will become happy of it. That's why I'm going back to Elyadon tonight. I don't want to break down again in front of his eyes, like I did a year ago." The girl spoke quietly as she stared at her feet. "I understand he wants to give me freedom for the next two months, but this deal only makes me feel like a prisoner..."

Arabella smiled at her sister slightly, "Then we'll go back tonight," she said resolutely. "You and I would react very differently in this situation Rena. I think you did the better thing, for the sake of your relationship, but before you decided you forgot to think of what it would do to you." She paused for a moment, hoping her sister would look back up at her. "Rena, soon you're going to be in charge of a lot of people," she said. "I know it, you know it, the people of Avalon and Elyadon know it. But for now, you need to focus on you, figure out what you feel, what you want, what you need."

Serena looked at her sister and closed her eyes to prevent tears. She opened them after a moment again. "I feel like I'm not good enough for KC. I want to spend time with KC before the wedding. I need Kaleb, he helps me to forget what happened when I'm with him. But I can't get what I want or need at this moment." Serena replied quietly. "KC doesn't want me to hug, kiss or flirt with him until we are married. He doesn't even want me to hold his hand. He wants to spend time with me, but just for talking." She sighed softly as she looked at her hands. "But I'm afraid I will marry a stranger if it goes on like this. I haven't seen him for more then a year! I have seen the Avalon servants more often as I saw him the past year..." Serena sighed and leant against Arabella, tears streaming down her face.

Arabella put her hand on her sisters red hair. You and me, so different, yet so the same, she thought as she looked down at her. "Then let me talk to him," she offered. "You can't feel like you're marrying a stranger Rena, you need to know him before the wedding. Don't you think he'd be able to allow only one month of this? Could you two come to a compromise?" Her mind raced as she tried to offer a solution she thought Serena would agree to.

Serena sighed softly, resting her head on Arabella's shoulder as she hugged her sister gently. "I don't know. Maybe." she replied quietly. "But I'm not going to tell him I'm breaking down mostly because of this. I do not want him to think I'm weak." Serena sighed softly and stared at her feet, realizing she indeed didn't knew KC very much at all. She didn't knew how he would react if she would tell. "He will become happy because of this, so it's the best solution this way."

"Serena you can't always put others in front of yourself," she warned her. "Especially if putting others in front of yourself begins to tear you up on this inside. Sometimes it's better to try and reach a compromise than just suffering silence." She looked over her shoulder and out the window, looking out into the night. "Let's try something," she said. "Will you try something for my Serena?"

Serena bit her lip as she looked down at her hands. "I know that, but I just want people to be happy." she murmured softly. She sighed as she looked out of the window, before facing Arabella again. "Depends on what I have to try from you." she replied quietly, wiping the tears out of her face. It was good to talk for once, it made her life feel less complicated.

Arabella smiled. "This is something Aiden had me try once," she said choking back a sob as she mentioned her brother. "Look out the window, into the night. Tell me what you see. Just whatever you see." She looked back at her sister. You always want to make other people happy, she thought sadly. I'm not a good person, Rena, but I can try and make you happy before you have a husband to make you happy for the rest of your life.

Serena nodded quietly and looked out of the window, into the night as she faced the Avalon garden. A soft smile spreaded across her face as most things reminded her of something nice with KC, from when they were little kids, running through the maze of hedges, or when they were around fifteen, secretly kissing under the cherry blossom tree. Even the spot of last night, where she and KC had danced, both happy and sad because they were so close yet so apart. More tears streamed down Rena's cheeks as she watched the dark garden, describing her memories to Arabella. "I see little KC and me, running through the maze, chasing eachother. Kaleb and I as young teenagers, kissing under the cherry blossom tree. Kaleb and I yesterday, dancing." Maybe the girl had a vivid imagination, but this is what she saw, or remembered. Her mind was flooded by memories of her and KC at the moment, but you couldn't blame her for it. She was in love, after all.
