Aisling almost opened her mouth to tell Ardai that his words wouldn't be heard by the animal summoner but refrained from saying anything. She found his words to be soothing despite the fact that they wrong. That being said it was that fact that made them even more soothing. It allowed her to pretend that they were on a peaceful mission instead of worrying about if their other two teams had run into trouble. So it was really nice to hear something like 'I will carry you bridal style.' It was a good image to replace the images of their allies injured or worse. Then Freyja squeezed her shoulder and she glanced over at the other girl with slight confusion until she saw the gentle expression that softened the other girls face. It was a response to her earlier reaction, which was sweet. She was pulled from her gentle thoughts when Caleb spat and gripped her shoulder tensely, something that her tiny frame was unused to and was a bit painful. Luckily Caleb seemed to notice and let go of her to explain the situation. "Vishante kaffas!" she swore loudly. It wasn't in a language that any of her fellow allies would know but it was from her late father's favorite video game and ever since he had passed she found herself swearing like him. Perhaps she had reacted terribly but the idea of her allies being injured got her blood boiling. With a split second decision she made up her mind and fixed Caleb with a steady gaze and shoved the bags into Caleb's hands, literally shoving. She didn't wait to see if he had actually caught them before she was breezing past them. "I must go help them" she said boldly as she hurried in the direction that the fighting was. Not that she could hear it but she knew where it was going down.

Racing through the streets wasn't something that would do for a normal onetian so she was forced to walk at a fast pace until she was free of the prying gazes. Once she reached a point where nobody could really see her from the city she jolted into a run with desperation in her every stride. She had to get there in time, there was no option where she couldn't get there in time. As she came into view of the battle she noticed a few things right off the bat. The blood on Quinn, the cut on Ella's face, the dead solider's. Then she spotted the prince who was being charged by what appeared to be the leader, however given how everyone seemed okay with this she assumed that the prince was okay. Must have challenged them to a duel, it was the only reason she could come up with where the other solider's and her allies would be okay with such a situation. So instead of going to the prince's aid she started towards the other solider. She had just stooped to pick up a sword when she saw something wrong. A second solider was approaching the prince from behind, taking light steps. Spinning on a dime she let out a loud war cry as she raced towards the sneaky solider. The moment she was close enough to the solider she flung her tiny body at them, the centeral point of her weight hitting their hips. Because of her own low center of gravity and the where she had launched her self she knocked the solider down with the force of her momentum. Landing heavily on top of the solider she felt the breath rush out of her lungs leaving her gasping slightly. Despite her gasping she started to sit up so that she wasn't crushing the solider's chest. That being said she still hadn't fully regained her breath yet which is why she wasn't one hundred percent prepared for the sword that came out of nowhere. Luckily she jerked to the side enough so that instead of slicing her head off it instead grazed her neck cut a few strands of her purple hair. "You beast! How dare you use such cowardly acts" she told the solider like he was some child that needed to be chastised. Without giving them a chance to respond she used the blunt end of her own sword to knock them out. Then she tossed the sword aside. Lifting her hand she touched the cut on her neck. It wasn't deep at all but it was deep enough to draw blood.

Adrienne had been standing in a corner away from the others, tracing the new scar on her forehead, when Finnegan mentioned a guest of sorts. The Prince of Delra to be exact. Her fingers immediately stopped, eyes raising to glance at the others in the room. She wasn’t sure how she expected them to react, but it definitely wasn’t this. Not with flower crowns and bookcases.

Adrienne was almost positive she was going to end up with whiplash, her head swiveling back and forth as she watched them talk with so much excitement and speed. Sure, sure. He’s a Prince. He’s royalty. Except, wasn’t he also a prisoner? If he really was a ‘guest’ they would have thrown him in any old room. Not a jail cell. Why did such an occasion call for so much excitement? She couldn't deny that the feeling was infectious, but it didn't make much sense to her.

We all understand that he is just a person, right? I mean yea, basic human decency is a thing, but it’s not like he’s going to write a review on how comfortable our jail cells are. We can make it as cozy as we’d like, but if this backfires there’s only one thing that’s going to matter; the fact that we kept him in a cell against his will.” She pointed out, crossing her arms over her chest and shrugging. There wasn’t any hostility in her tone, just confusion.

After listening to all the ideas the others had to offer, Soren had some of his own to share. He says, "These are all pretty good ideas, and making sure he isn't left to rot in a dank cell would surely help us out in the long run no matter the outcome." Looking over at Sycamore he continues, "We've given him things to do to pass the time which is great, but as someone very experienced on this subject, I need to find him the comfiest seat and bed in the whole headquarters! Aida could you color me some sheets for the bed? Oh and when I find the chair... hm... A nice deep ebony colored wood." Soren leaves the room with determination to try every bed and chair in the whole place himself to find the most comfortable furniture for their new "guest".

After a brief moment of dumbfounded staring at the trapped guard, Robin shook herself free of the trance. Don't just stand around and wait for someone else to solve your problem. That won't happen whenever you can't person up to do it. With what training Robin had, she quickly dispatched the guard as painlessly as she knee how. After they dropped to the ground in an unconscious heap, she quickly retreated, guilt gnawing at the back of her mind, even though she knew it needed to be done.
"Well... that's all of them, except..-" Robin spoke quietly as her gaze trailed over towards where the duel was about to start with Alistair and Wayne.

Gavotte Tenuto
Water manipulation
Location: Forest
Tags: Robin

Gavotte stood poised with the knife, ready to throw if the guard made any wrong move. To his utter relief, Robin was able to throw the net and capture the soldier without putting herself in danger. Gavotte didn't lower the knife until she'd knocked the guy out, and he had to admit, he winced a little seeing it.
The other guards had fallen, and the Prince was facing their captain. As much as Gav hated and distrusted Alastair, son of the tyrant, he was confident this battle would go in their favor. The Prince was bound to have some underhanded, shady skills that would allow him to defeat Wayne. Gavotte chose to ignore him and rush to his friends' aid instead. "You did it, Robin," He told her with a shaky and unconvincing smile. The other allies were all accounted for, with Ella tending to Quinn. All Gavotte could do now was watch the duel unfold at the edge of the clearing.
"I'm just glad you all are safe," He murmured, addressing Robin but also his other allies. Jen, Onyx, little Aisling who had come rushing out from the city, everyone.

Alastair Brungard
Prince of Delra
Location: Forest
Tags: Wayne, Aisling

Wayne was expecting a parry. That was his first mistake. No doubt he planned to overwhelm Alastair through sheer brute strength, but the Prince did not fight losing battles. Poised on his feet, he prepared to dodge his enemy's reckless strike. Before Wayne reached him, however, a violent commotion from behind alerted Alastair. He turned momentarily to see a small lass tackle aside a soldier - who had been positioned to backstab him. What dishonor!
Of all the treachery committed today, this was the final straw. As an insult, Alastair sidestepped Wayne's incoming blade without even looking at him. The guardsman whirled on him and struck again, but the Prince ducked underneath, retaliating with a sweeping kick that knocked Wayne off his feet. He landed on the ground in an undignified heap.

Wayne was not even worthy of Alastair's blade, which had remained at his side this entire 'fight'. Sheathing his sword, the Prince now looked down on Wayne with intermingled contempt and rage. "How dare you allow such treachery. You mock me for honor, yet violate the only terms we agreed on... No matter, this fight is over."
The traitor's knuckles were white around his sword's hilt, and his eyes bulged with grotesque rage. "It's over when I say it is!"
Alastair was not expecting the crazed strike that came next, a brutal slash aimed upward for his throat. He leaped back quick enough to avoid a fatal blow, but not quick enough to dodge the sword entirely. The blade slashed him from waist to shoulder in one cut. Green eyes widened, then narrowed as he responded with one last kick. This one connected with the captain's head, knocking him out cold in an instant. "Then say nothing more."

(The fight is over! Alastair's post will be continued below Atlanta.)

Atlanta Hunter
Phoenix Squad Commander
Location: Forest
Tags: Everyone, please help Quinn

Silence fell once more throughout the forest - the time for bloodshed was over. The adrenaline of the fight was already starting to fade, and the commander felt an intense burning in her shoulder where the mace had connected. That would be dealt with later. Atlanta heaved a sigh as she took inventory of everyone. Most appeared physically fine. Quinn, however, was not. He needed immediate attention or Atlanta feared the worst.
"I'm so proud of you. Thanks to everyone watching each other's backs, we made it through in one piece," Atlanta spoke. "And I want to keep it that way. Right now, our priority is getting our injured allies stabilized - then we can decide what to do about the soldiers and get out of here."

Alastair Brungard
Prince of Delra
Location: Forest
Tags: Wayne, Aisling

Fallen soldiers were strewn motionless on the clearing which had become a battlefield. Interspersed among the bodies were the rebels, some injured, one of which had just saved his life. Though wounded, Alastair walked with poise to the young lass's side. He attempted to shield the gash from view by means of discreet positioning of his arms. It looked worse than it was really - there was no need to alarm this newcomer further.
"Thank you, good lass. I am indebted to you," the Prince spoke softly with a respectful bow. He then tilted his head, tender concern in his eyes as they examined her cut. The wound was not deep enough to kill, but warranted attention nevertheless. "You are hurt... deepest apologies for my inattention. I should have dealt with that traitorous barbarian."
The Prince removed the tie around his collar and reached forward, meaning to apply pressure to her wound. He stopped just short of making contact and drew back a little, mentally chastising himself for being so rude as to almost touch someone without their explicit permission. "Ah, pardon my manners. May I?"

Sycamore Jin

Aida confessed that she couldn't see very well either. With a sheepish smile hidden behind the bookshelf, Sycamore realized it was because she'd shoved so many books into her friend's hands. "Sorry about that, Aida. And great ideas, Soren!"
Adrienne then spoke up, saying things confusing to the young phoenix. "It's because he's 'just a person' that I want to do this. What matters most is being as kind as possible in any situation, and if I can make a little difference in someone's day, then I'm going to try. Soren's right - there's nothing to lose by being nice."
Sycamore wondered if Adrienne was feeling pressured and didn't want to do this. "Ah, but if you don't want to participate... that's okay. I wouldn't want to drag you into something you're against, and I'm sure Mr. Finnegan would understand. That goes for the rest of you too!"
A burning pain seared across her body as soon as she finished speaking. As if a blade had slashed clean across her chest, slicing from waist to shoulder. Sycamore flinched slightly but managed to keep her balance with the bookshelf.

"Don't worry babe, it's fine!" Aida replied cheerfully, standing up again to peep over the books. With Adrienne's reply, though, she remained uncharacteristically silent. Sure, the prince was a prisoner, but it seemed super rude and hypocritical to be cruel after he'd been cooperative towards everyone. Maybe we could leave some books for the prisoners who were being cooperative as well. It would be pretty unfair not to. Though, Aida smiled once more at her friend's reply.
"Sycamore's right. Everyone deserves a chance to be happy." Aida piped in, her hair swishing across the floor as she continued to peep quite comically over her stack of books. She turned to answer Soren as well, nodding.
"Of course! I can do that."

Shock flickered across Quinn's face as he took in the worry of his teammates. He hadn't ever seen this level of concern before, even in his childhood. Nobody had been this concerned over his well being. Sure Ardai had always been like a mother hen when he got sick but it hadn't ever occurred to him that others also cared for him. He didn't even twitch when Ella started to wrap the bandage over his wound and instead just stared at her with the same shocked expression. As she added the dressing onto his back his expression softened. "That. That is the first time anyone has ever said something like that to me. I. Well I didn't know....." he started to say and then trailed off before shaking his head. If he spoke anymore she would ask questions and he didn't have the right answers to give her so instead he pushed that thought aside. "Thank you Princess Ella your words mean more than I can ever express. If you need anything, and I mean anything, in the future I will do whatever I can to make sure it happens" he seriously. Then he lifted his gaze to give Atlanta a swift nod when he saw that she had defended them. With that nod he felt his vision suddenly flicker and then the ground was swaying slightly. Glancing down at his hand he knew something was wrong right away. His own hand was pale, much paler than before and now that he was focusing on it he noticed that he could feel sweat on his brow. The blood lose was getting to him. As he came to this realization he tipped forward dangerously and only barely managed to catch himself before he completely fell over.

Straightening as much as he could he sent Ella a tight smile as thought to try and say that he was okay, everything was okay. His hand jumped to his injury and he let out a small breath of relief, it seemed that the bandages hadn't slipped. Not surprising since Ella knew what she was doing. He was a tad surprised that despite the fact that she had wrapped his injury she hadn't noticed the scars that littered his back. Though he assumed most of that was hidden enough by the blood that it wasn't the first thing that stood out. Which was a good thing he didn't really want to explain the scar that ran from his left shoulder all the way down to his right hip. Tugging his ruined hoodie down over the bandages he was grateful that the hoodie also covered everything and hopefully Ella never noticed. Turning his attention to the duel he watched the prince, he would have kept his eyes trained on the duel but was distracted by a familiar war cry. Turning tired eyes to the direction of the sound he watched as Aisling barreled into battle flinging her tiny frame as a solider who had been approaching from behind the prince. He wasn't sure what all happened with Aisling after since he had a bad angle so instead he watched the duel. It seemed that despite being a captain Wayne wasn't very good at one on one combat as demonstrated by the way the prince easily side stepped and dodged each swing. It didn't take very long for the duel to be finished up with the obvious winner being the prince. Turning his attention to Atlanta he tried to focus on what she was saying. Something about getting the injured stabilized. With that idea he straightened fully and fixed Atlanta with a determined gaze. "I am okay for now. It might be easier to stabilize on the train when we know that we are safe rather than being worried about another attack. Besides I can channel more of my skills into keeping myself semi stable" he said in his most confident way possible. It was off put by paleness and the sheen of sweat on his brow.

Aisling snapped to attention at the sound of someone approaching her and she looked up to see the prince gracefully making his way over to her. From what she could tell he was trying to hide something, something that became very clear after he had gotten closer. He was injured but before she could say anything about it he was thanking her with a bow. For a moment she was at a lose for words. She hadn't ever been bowed to nor had she ever been addressed as lass before. It was a bit jarring to the system to have such a polite person address her. That combined with the fact that the prince was speaking directly to her was enough to short circuit her mind for a moment. It wasn't that she was star struck by the prince, it was more like she never expected to be addressed by the prince so soon after meeting him. With a small shake of her head she pushed those thoughts aside and focused on what he was saying. It seemed that he felt responsible for her injury even though it was really her fault. If she had been faster she wouldn't have gotten injured at all so it wasn't their fault at all. If anyone was at fault for the injury it was the solider who had tried to lop off her head. She opened her mouth to say that but was cut off when he started to move towards applying pressure to her wound. She was a bit startled but would have let him if he hadn't paused and asked permission. It was that act that allowed her to do something. "You are hurt!" she finally managed to exclaim while staring at the wound. "So you may tend to my wound if you allow me to tend to yours" she said reasonably and turned her big puppy eyes on him. It had worked for the doctor so it might work for the prince.

Keelan-Rose Major

She watched everything unfold, still invisible behind a bush. It seemed that they didn’t need her and Onyx’s help after all. She followed quietly behind the group, still invisible and waiting for something to go wrong, when a group of royal guards attacked the group. Keelan’s eyes flashed as she thought of what to do. She took a running leap at one of the men, staying invisible in order to hold the element of surprise. She grabbed the knife that was hidden in her shirtsleeve, fully prepared to utilize her training and kill this man. He thrashed under her one hundred fifty pounds of weight, reaching for his sword. She brought her foot forward and stepped on his hand, forcing him to release his grasp. She grinned at her knowledge of self defence, jumping up to roll the guard on his back and hold his arm down. Keels’s hand went immediately to the cuffs, before realizing that the cuffs wouldn’t help in this situation. At the man’s pleas for mercy, she settled for giving him a deep gash in his thigh, cringing at the squish his flesh made. She hesitated a bit before pulling back from his body, still straddling his back. As she stood up, she stepped gently on the pressure point on his neck, knocking him out. There were many other guards, some standing idle, others in combat with the rest of the Phoenix squad, and some unconscious on the ground. Her invisibility would come in handy for this, as she snuck behind all of the guards. Choosing one who seemed less muscular than the rest, she snuck up behind him and put him into a choke hold. He clawed at her arm, but she swung a leg in front of his, locking it while pushing forward on the guards back, he was now laying face down on the ground. She pressed gently on his neck, right where there was a pressure point, and he almost immediately stopped thrashing and lay there, seemingly lifeless, but Keelan knew that the man was just unconscious. She stood up, surveying the remaining guards who were fighting the rest of the squad.

Onyx Carriado——————————
♣︎ // Phoenix Squad Recruit // Acrobat // Tags: alpha & beta (Brenn, Quinn, Ella), Alastair, Wayne

“That’s good to hear,” Onyx breathed, taking a moment to look at Brenn’s face to see if the information was genuine. They had already known it was though- the two had been close as far back as Onyx could remember. At the “Eyes open!” Outburst the kid leaning back in surprise, catching a side glimpse of another guard before one of Brenn’s knives hit his shoulder and another of their teammates knocked him out of sight. That was one way to clear the enemy the acrobat supposed.

Just as they seemed to be catching their breath, the vision of a Onetian duel was created right in the middle of the clearing. Alastair gave an oath to the head general that had been provoking him before. That memory alone made Onyx’s features harden, although they didn’t dare get involved. That was, until Wayne’s promise was broken from the appearance of another guard. Before any of them could try anything, however, Aisling popped out of the underbrush and effectively tackled the oncoming enemy. “Yeah, Aisling!” Onyx cheered before realising that she had been on team Omega. The rest of them were clearing the way back, right? Onyx glanced anxiously to where their friend had appeared, then back to the prince upon hearing a few more verbal jabs back and forth. It was over by the time they really saw what was going on though.

“W-ow, what a day, huh?” Onyx gave a perplexed smile to the ice-manipulator, wandering over to a few unconscious bodies and retrieving Brenn’s blades. “You’ve gotten great at throwing these you know. I wouldn’t wanna get in a fight with you, for the sake of keeping my blood where it should be.” They tried to lighten the mood, staring at the knives before handing three of them back hilt-up. “Ah, but if you’re really okay, then I’m gonna go check on Quinn real quick. You haven’t talked with him too much, right? If you wanna come with then I’m sure he’ll appreciate it!” The dark-haired recruit beamed, then slid through some of their teammates to find their injured friend.

As they moved, their violet gaze couldn’t help but linger on Prince Alastair. He was impressive, Onyx had to admit. He was well-trained and didn’t seem to be using his ability, though they still didn’t figure out what exactly his power was. Plus he was just as poise and regal as you’d except a prince to be- charming too, they observed from watching his and Aisling’s interaction. It was no wonder the citizens adored him. Right now Onyx was inclined to agree with them, even- though the natural instinct to trust him only made the Sixney-raised teen all the more eager to suspect him of something vile.

Onyx hadn’t realised that their eyes had narrowed until they drew back to Quinn, squinting in a lot more friendly way (such as a cat that trusts the subject of their vision). “Sheesh, somebody doesn’t want people worrying about him.” They teased. Despite their usual “climbing on friends” dynamic, this time Onyx merely squeezed under Quinn’s arm and slung their own gently over his shoulders. “Lean on me if you need to. Any onlookers will think that we’re just really cool bros.” Onyx’s voice was casual, but their attention was drawn to the hoodie that now covered Quinn’s torso. It was exactly the type of move they’d expect him to pull, and it made them a little concerned. Luckily they had witnessed Ella dressing the wound. “Thank you for reaching him so quickly, Ella. I hope... you are well..?” Onyx suddenly turned to face the fellow rebel. She had done her part splendidly, though now it appeared to them that she may feel a little... left out, to put it simply. They didn’t want her to think like that, especially since they viewed her with a lot of similarity to the rest of the squad. Not to mention she had been in the same fight the rest of them had taken part in only moments prior.

Caleb Oxenbera——————————
♠︎ // Phoenix Squad Recruit // Beast Summoning // Tags: team omega, roy

Caleb gave a determined, although not super confident, nod to Ardai’s reassurance. “Yeah. None of them used their powers just yet either, from what I could tell.” He recalled again, though it sounded more like he was trying to reassure himself.

He watched as The redhead worked his magic, projecting an image onto the side of a building with only a few movements of his fingers. It was always intriguing to watch others use their abilities. Caleb was shaken out of his concentration on the other, however, when Aisling fixed him with a look and shoved her bags into his arms. The teen caught and rearranged them with ease, yet before he could ask about the sudden decision she was already off. “Wha- wait, we need to secure-“ he paced quickly after her, but after looking around the corner she was nowhere in sight. “At least the others are on their way back, but that was not a well-drawn map...” Caleb muttered to himself, slinging all the bags onto his arms. In a quick movement that seemed to be a silent clap, a falcon stood steadily in either palm as his hands separated. In an instant it took off, and was shadowing after their quick-paced teammate. “It’ll be more noticeable but it’s worth it if she needs help.” He explained again as he moved towards the ledge again.

The dark-brunett had to blink a few times to capture the shadow in its entirety, making sure to create a similar form when he clasped his hands together again. The insect was the except same as Ardai’s, including the solid black hue. Unfortunately Caleb didn’t remember the colours that this specific type of creature had, though he figured it would be ‘good enough’ as he directed it down to settle on a streetlight. “Okay, Freyja, I think you’re good to go.
