Hawthorne nodded, " Great" He smiled at Arkady, " And you're very welcome." He glad she didn't take his offer the wrong way. He wasn't offering her charity or trying to force her to do anything. Hawthorne shook his head, " Nonsense. You can go where ever you like in the palace. You're a guest." He said, "But.. there is a couple things we have to work out. Obviously, I can't let you wander around by yourself. You'll have to have a guard at all times. I'm afraid you're stuck with me for a little while longer or if you'd like, I can assign you one of my soldiers." He said," And, you can't stay in those clothes. Though, I'm sure Soren will be glad fix you up with something. He's clever with clothes and fashion" Hawthorne chuckled warmly

The spit weighed heavily on their shoulder's as they trudged through the forest, weighed down by the massive game the group of Howlers had captured. But, still, Gemi and his meager band of inexperienced hunters marched on toward the village, a journey they had set out on several days ago soon about to come to it's end. But, the massive buck that the hunters carried made every every step at this point near agonizing, the sight of the village in the distant feeling like a gift from the Spirits themselves. Their brethren must of heard of their coming arrival and readied the fire pit. They had smelt the smoke for miles.

A feeling of relief came over the band of hunters as they crossed the threshold into the village. One part the satisfaction of finally making it home after being away for a few days. The other part being able to finally drop the massive beast they had managed to slay for their people to eat. It was a massive deer. A good catch. There wouldn't be an empty belly in the village, at least not for one night. But, as the group collected themselves, it was quickly apparent to the senior hunter that something was amiss. The village seemed some what...barren. Empty. Not completely devoid of his people, but the amount of Howlers coming to welcome the returning party was somewhat sparse. Gemi furrowed his brow further when he realized the fire pit wasn't ignited either. "Then what is that smell...?" he wondered aloud.

Arkady looked at Hawthorne and the corners of her mouth turned upwards slightly and she raised an eyebrow. "Will I be wearing a dress?" She had never worn a dress before. Arkady would always see the noblewomen wear ones covered in gems and sequins. She had always thought the ones they wore were cheesy and over the top, as if they were trying to impress something or someone that just didn't exist. "And I'll stick with you." Arkady had a feeling if she was to be followed around by a guard she'd punch them in the face out of anger and get into a fight.

" If you want to wear a dress, I suppose so" Hawthorne shrugged. He chuckled warmly, adjusting the strap of his sword, " To be honest, i never pegged you for the dress type." Hawthorne looked over again at her old, tattered clothes. He smiled a bit, " Well then, this is going to be interesting. You'll have to tag along with me tomorrow during my soldiers practice and things." Hawthorne chuckled warmly." A real taste of Royal life I suppose". He made a motion for her to follow, smiling a bit more" Come on, let's head to the palace"

Arkady looked at the ground, and even though he was right about her not being the type to wear a dress, she would like to think that she could if she wanted to. "And I never took you to be the type to smile but here you are now. Who knows, maybe I'll be wearing a dress tomorrow." Arkady smiled lightly and began to walk. She lifted the hood on her red cloak, the fabric covering up part of her face. Her hand rested on her ruby dagger and knowing that she had her bow and quiver full of arrows made her feel a little better. She turned to look at Hawthorne, so only he could see her features with the red hood covering her. "I want you to teach me how to fight. Train me." Arkady had fought on the streets before, but never knew how to properly do so. She wanted to be able to defend herself better than she was used to.

" Oh really?". He very rarely opened up with most people. Hawthorne gave a warm laugh at that," Well, maybe you will wear a dress tomorrow then". It was a well known fact that the captain was rather grumpy sometimes. Though, he did like to joke and Hawthorne's heart felt lighter as he walked with her out of the prison. " You want me to train you?" He said, a bit surprised, but obviously pleased. " I'd be honored to teach you" Hawthorne said, happily. Fighting and training others were his strong point. He had taught every soldier in Solodin how to fight.

Arkady kept her head low as she smiled and walked out of the prison, her cell behind her now. "Let me know when I can start." She was eager to train and learn everything she could. Arkady wondered where exactly they were going, since she had no idea her way around the more formal parts of Solodin. She usually stayed near the borders and away from the rich nobleman and woman. "Lead the way Hawthorne." Arkady wondered what the royal family would think of her being there. Her chest felt heavy as she looked up at him. "Are you sure your family will be alright with... me being in the palace?"

Hawthorne nodded, leading the way towards the palace. As they walked, the houses slowly became nicer and much larger. Quell dressed in fancier gowns walked the streets. But, for once Hawthorne didn't bother to uphold his image as a leader. As Quell waved and called 'hello' he didn't seem to hear them. " We can start training any time you want to." He said cheerfully. Hawthorne shrugged slightly at her question, " I... didn't have time to ask them, but I'm sure they won't mind. "

Arkady noticed how the Quell waved and greeted Hawthorne as they walked on the street. Many of them though ignored her all together or gave her mean looks. By looking at her clothes, they could tell she didn't belong among their fancy gowns and huge houses. Though they thought they were better than her and the other outcasts, she thought they were far from it. Many of the noblemen and woman would pass the hungry and weak and not do anything to help them. Someone who did that had no place in Arkady's heart. She sighed and laughed lightly at Hawthorne's response. "It sure will be a surprise for them then to find me."

Leo kept his confused gaze on the ground as he walked towards the river. The smoke was never really gone but it was getting easier to breathe as they traveled away from the fire that he assumed was still spreading and tearing away at thier forest. Occasionally he'd falter when a sharp pain radiated up his legs most likely due to a burn, but otherwise he was silent as he walked.
His ears twitched when the sound of crashing trees echoed through the forest or when he'd step on a crunchy leaf. If he hadn't shut off the sorrow his animal instincts wanted him to face, he'd probably would've caught the slight sound air being inhaled and exhaled.
