Lola gave a slight nod of her head, relaxing when she heard that he would not tell anyone. She slipped back into the water and reached out to grab onto her lantern. She followed his gaze over to the other lanterns drifting over the ocean's surface. Lifting her arms, she released her lantern and watched it float up to the dark open sky. She kept her gaze on her lantern, thoughts floating around in her head. She felt bad for dropping this huge secret onto Jason's shoulders, but she felt as if she could trust him despite not knowing him for a long period of time. She silently cursed herself for being too trusting; it would come back to bite her in the tail someday. "This is amazing." She whispered, briefly flickering her gaze over to the human before looking back at the lanterns in the distance.

"Nice to meet you too, Jenna." Thomas responded, turning his head to notice that it was time to release the lanterns. He lifted the lantern from his lap and held it in the air. The male watched it lift off his hands and float along with the others. Once his lantern was mixed in with the other lanterns, he returned his attention back to Carla and Jenna. His canine friend licked Jenna's hand, her tail making a small thumping sound against the wooden dock. "She's easily excitable-"

Walking onto the dock, Daniel held onto the lantern between his hands. He noticed that others were releasing their lanterns, so he quickly moved to reach them. He stretched his arms out and released his lantern into the sky. A grin formed on his lips, his brown eyes following his lantern until he could no longer tell it apart from the other lanterns.

Payton walked through the streets of town, a blank look on her features. She wore black cargo pants that came to mid calf, thin soled grey tennis shoes and a light grey cotton tank. Her dark, chocolaty hair was pulled up to a tight high pony tail and bounced behind her. Nothing seemed exciting to Payton, all but the sea breeze to lift her mood.


Carter jogged down the beach, his grey Weimaraner trotted next to him. His grey and red shoes dug into the soft sand, and sweat rolled down his shirtless back. He listened to the rolling waves, crash next to him, enjoying his time listening to the world around him.

Today, the waves were huge. I smirked, anticipated to get in the water. I slip on my black wetsuit and pick up my surfboard. I run into the water, getting on top of my board. I find the perfect funnel wave and paddel out to it. I stand up and surf inside the wave without a fumble. I mastered this years ago, and I loved it. I surfed for another 30 minutes or so with one of my best runs. I decide to head back to shore soon.

Marie was lying in the sand, her tail had disappeared by now but she just wanted to sunbathe for a little bit. She looked around and noticed a guy{Carter} jogging and smiled at him.

Carter slowed to a walk as he approached two girls. One was headding towards him with a surf board, the other shot him a smile. "Hello." hea greared both girls. " Nice weather today isnt it?" There was a slight Australian accent to his deep voice, a warm smile across his cheeks. Riptide barked happily beside Carter, toung lolling out as the dog panted.

Marie nodded and smiled. "Yeah, you have a pretty dog. What's it's name?" She asked and sat up looking at Carter. "I'm Marke by the way."

Adira continued to paddle with her long oar until the dolphin started to help her, at which she almost fell into the water. Quickly regaining her balance as she got used to the quicker pace, she glanced behind her at the animal before over to Marina. Today is a very stage day...she thought silently to herself, giving a small frown until she noticed the lanterns. "I think here is good," she commented. They were pretty close to the shore, but not enough for people to see them clearly.

Once Lola took her lantern, Jason turned his attention back to his own. He held it out in front of him for a moment before simply letting it go. It seemed to faulter for a moment before slowly raising up. Once it caught the slight wind, it joined alongside Lola's and the two objects steadily rose together. His mind was taken momentarily away from what the mermaid beside him had confessed, simply enjoying the soothing sight. "Yeah...there's allot more this year," he replied with a smile. He turned his head back to Lola and watched her for a moment, happy he had someone to share the experience with him this year. Even if she turned out not to be entirely human. By the time he had returned his gaze to the darkened sky, their lanterns had joined the others high in the air. There seemed to be thousands, though he knew there couldn't possibly be that many.

I run back to the beach, very happy with my time on the waves. I see a boy waving to me, so I wave lightly back. "Hello," I said, my Irish accent (yes, she has an Irish accent XD) That is noticeable, but not too thick. "The waves are great today, aren't they?" I smile. "I'm Opal. Nice to meet ya."
