"The odds aren't exactly in my favor, but who knows, maybe things will turn around for a change." Arkady laid her palms out before her, generating heat. The goosebumps that had risen on her skin vanished at the sudden warmth. Her powers though were dulled because of the cell she now resided in. She wished to be out of the room. She was trapped and she didn't like it. Her heart had sped up as the feeling of being suffocated set in and she clenched her hands to form fists before she slowly unclenched them.

Aurora looked back at Ash and then to Juniper. "Leonardo will get her out. But first, I need to get you to Amille." She hauled Juniper through the hole and felt the burning heat as she passed through the opening. Aurora winced slightly but kept moving, determined to help him. "Amille, over here!"

Amille heard Aurora calling her name. She ran towards the source of the sound, leaping over flaming trees that have fallen. She coughed, dwelling her lungs burning. She was also starting to profusely sweat, and that was never good. She reached Aurora and Juniper. "Aurora, are you okay? Is Juniper okay? Are their others in there?" Questions came flying out like missiles. She just couldn't control her mouth right now.

Leonardo
Fighting his animalistic fear of the danger he was in, Leo grit his teeth and shifted into his anthro form. He swiped at the smoke that gathered in front of him as he cast a glance towards Juniper and Aurora, frowning slightly when his eyes turned to Ashs unmoving form. He moved to her side and knelt down to lift her up. A gnawing animal instinct nagged at the back of his mind and he could feel his heart beat wildly within his chest as if he had just finished running at his top speed. "Ash?" He whispered, adjusting his grip as he rose from the ground. The pain of the flames burning the back of his calves had him blindly rushing towards the opening. He coughed and tried to protect Ash from the flames as he moved as quick as this form would allow. Leo hadn't even realized he closed his eyes until he burst through the fiery opening and damn near ran into a tree. He clutched Ash tightly but his legs were trembling, the pads of his paws searing with pain. He tried breathing heavily only to go into a coughing fit. He allowed his eyes to open just a little bit in order to see Amille, Aurora, and Juniper before making his way over. "Ash needs help" he said distantly, his thoughts staggering with the thought that Ash needs help.

" I suppose it's possible." Hawthorne nodded. He gave a soft sigh, crossing his arms over his chest. He literally held Arkady's fate in his hands- well sort of anyway. Hawthorne wanted to help her, but he wasn't sure how to. If he just simply set her free, he would get in a lot of trouble. If Hawthorne even tried to help her, would she take it the wrong way? He didn't want to hurt her pride. It was obvius that he was plotting something by the look on his face. He looked up, hoping that she hadn't noticed. " It's a little chilly in here, isn't it...?" He said, fumbling with something to say. Hawthorne wasn't exactly the best with small talk.

Juniper shut his eyes, numbly letting Aurora take him to Amille. The only thing on his mind was if Ash was okay. I... can't believe she's gone.....I ... failed a packmate..... The guilt was worse than the pain he felt from the burns and the fierce ache in his chest from the toxic smoke. Juniper's shoulders shook violently as he fought back tears. He opened his eyes part way, looking sorrowfully at Amille. " C-can you help her, Amille?" He whispered hoarsely.

Soren nodded slightly, quietly agreeing. It was overwhelming just to be outside in the Aboveworld, let alone think about how much there was... He gained a bit more of a grimace, the smoke growing more apparent to him now that he was aware of it. He rubbed his forearm at Basil's answer, as he couldn't say he had any ideas either. "Yeah... they should... It'd make sense to at least try, even if it doesn't seem likely..." He chewed his lip though, knowing she was right. The howlers couldn't really deal with the fire, could they? He couldn't think of how they could, at least. "Then again... how would we?" He looked at Basil, almost frustrated. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get himself to like the idea of the howlers ending up succumbing to the fire. "Neither of us have that ability, either... and it's not really like we can just go back and get some help without some sort of consequences; we're not supposed to be out here to begin with." He fiddled with his hair, looking at the mingling blue and violet. "I don't know what we could do to help with actually dealing with the fire that they couldn't already do, but we wouldn't be useless... Only problem is I don't even know if they'd want our help..." He paused, and exhaled a sigh. "I can almost guarantee they wouldn't, actually. Not from us."

Aurora looked at Amille and shook her head. ”Juniper and Ash are the only ones. Now we have to get away from this fire. I don’t know how we can put it out unless it rains in the near future.” She walked down the path in the woods, the fire to her back. Aurora supported Juniper and Leonardo carried Ash. She looked to Leo and mouthed her next words so Juniper wouldn’t hear. ”Is Ash alive?”

Arkady eyes gleamed and she tilted her head as she looked at Hawthorne. ”How is it that you, a former prince, got the honor to deal with a mix and theif like me?” That day had been a day like no other. She had stolen, imprisoned, and was then talking to one of the most important people in Solodin. Though she knew she should have been honored or surprised to be in Hawthorne’s presence, she wasn’t. He seemed to her like any other person in a way. ”What are you thinking about?” Arkady had noticed the expression on Hawthorne’s face.

Basil nervously tugged on her bangs, trying to decide what to do. They couldn't just let the fire get out of control, right? " Well... we have to try to do something " She said unsurely. " I know we don't have maroon magic, but we do have some power. Maybe we can help put out the fire? At least we do have magic at least." Basil looked up at the smoke rising from the forest. If the wind picked up, the fire easily could get out of control." Of course they wouldn't want our help... " She said quietly. " But... We don't have to let them know we're helping? Who knows, maybe the Howlers are staying away from it like the animals are? " She offered hopefully.

Hawthorne gave a dry chuckle, running his fingers through his hair. " You mean, how did I go from a prince to a soldier? Now that is an interesting story." He smiled a bit, looking out at the city through the small window. " I gave up my title when I was seventeen to join the Royal guard. I always felt that I could protect the city better with a sword than with a crown." He shrugged, looking back at Arkady," I'm happiest out on the battlefield, protecting the people I care about. So, I've stayed in the Royal guard, working my way through the ranks. Now I'm captain and in charge of all Solodin's security. That includes dealing with thieves" He chuckled warmly. " I can't complain though. I love my job. I'm happiest fighting for the people I care about." Hawthorne seemed to be dodging her second question a bit.
