Sorinn Yang- m- 28- Vulcan- Engineer- homosexual; Castor- SO open- dad x mom: Trinity; two younger siblings- he may have human blood in him but no one has ever proven this- location: the engine room- Tags: Francis/open

The handsome but also cute male nodded as he looked at the other male. At least, he assumed Francis to be a male. He knew Francis could also be a girl’s name. Something just told him this lizard like male was likely exactly that, a male and not a female. He watched the other looked about for a moment. He tilted his head as he too looked around, but nothing seemed amiss. Shaking his head, he reached up to rub at the tips of his pointed ears, a habit he had of sometimes doing. He then lowered his hands quickly, and watched the other male once more. His pretty colored eyes glanced around the area they were in, now. He’d been looking towards the break room before, as the other had. Now, he looked around the immediate area. He let out a tiny chuckle, saying “I’m a Vulcan. If you mean my name, my parents named me Sorinn. I gave myself the last name of Yang,” he then also said. It didn’t seem to be usual for Vulcans to have last names…but he wasn’t on Vulcan anymore. He said “Francis is a very nice name, by the way. I think it can be used for boys and girls, right?” he asked. He’d been on ships for a while now. He’d definitely heard the name Francis before, and he’d learned things from other people. He then nodded at the other male. Quickly saying “I’d definitely like to explore, look around, the ship.” He gave a small smile, then glanced to the engine a moment. Before looking to Francis once more. He noticed when the other seemed to stare. He tilted his head at this.

Jezzel Robespiere- f- 24- Cosmosin (or Cosmic Cat)- Security Officer- Pan; Star/Night, Aurora, maybe also Celeste- mate/significant other: open- family: dad x mom, and many siblings- location: near/at bridge- Tags: Celeste, Castor, Jerdana, Niko

The lovely little female flicked her tail back and forth quickly. It wasn’t lashing, but it wasn’t really ‘wagging’ either. It just seemed to be flicking quickly, heedless of the kind of mods she was in. She wasn’t angry, but she wasn’t excited/ecstatic either. Therefore, it had nothing to do with her mood. Her cat ears went back for a moment, then perked once more. Her human ears then picked up on the sound of the chair, as Castor spun it slightly. She tilted her head a bit as she watched him, then shook her head.

She smiled as she looked down at the dog, saying “Hello,” to him. She didn’t mind if he responded or not, she’d just wanted to say hello. It was cool that they allowed a dog to be First Officer on this ship. She nearly jumped when Castor addressed her, then. She said “No, no, I just wanted to make sure you didn’t need anything. I didn’t want to just walk away. Since it’s possible any of you might have needed something,” she said. Plus, at least at the Academy she’d been at, and those first ships, their captain or others would dismiss them.

Highest Speed Needle Thread Through The Seven Keyholes||Stowaway Pilot||Cargo Hold||Tagged: Aerglo, Kahran, Star

"We're not on the Atlas," Needle said, "Though from what I can see it's probably a similar ship. Couldn't say what the layout is, maybe we can find a console that'll tell us more." She sent out another pulse, to the limits of her range. "We're definitely alone here, too. None of our crew, or of this one." Strange, that. They weren't exactly being subtle, her least of all. Were there no cameras in here? Surely someone was monitoring the hold somehow, the Atlas did. Probably best to assume someone was on the way, though she wasn't really sure what they could do. The holdout blaster she usually kept in her satchel was gone, another curious twist of fate, and she doubted the others had any weapons on them. "I'm not good with Galactic Standard Script, can anyone read what's on these crates? At least we can figure out where we're going."

Francis - engineer for The Sovereign - Angusaurian (lizard) - Location: Engine Room - Tags: Sorinn

Francis silently sounded out the word “Vulcan” as Sorinn said it, doing the same again for his given name as if to practice before saying it aloud. “Ah, Sorinn! Pleased to meet you! And I believe so, yes! Thank you!” The little lizard’s cheek fins twitched in pride. “It is not a name that comes from my planet, but it was rather common in some of the vocalized versions of literature I read from other solar systems. Back in my university days, that is.” He explained in a little more detail. Francis wasn’t quite sure of the origin of the name, but it seemed to have belonged to at least a few different species since intergalactic travel became commonplace. Plus, Francis himself had an easier time pronouncing it. “My name among other angusaurians is a little different, but still considered unisex. We tend to name after character traits, so mine-“ he bobbed his head twice before lowering his chin “-means courage and selflessness. Although it can be pretty easily lost in translation, haha.”

When the dark-haired humanoid accepted his invitation, Francis gave a little hop- although his tail was too long to leave the ground as the rest of him did. “Wonderful! How about we try to find the eating area first? See what’s on the way too!” The light-golden reptile suggested, already scrambling into the hallway and peering out the large window. Stars were reflected back in his eyes as he gently set four of his clawed hands- two of which were mechanical- on the glass. “Ahhh wait a sec! Let me see if I can recognize any of these star formations! Ahh never mind, this is why I’m not up on the bridge, heheh.” Francis joked, quickly getting distracted once again and twirling around to continue walking. “Vulc-Sorinn! Did you say there was something you were interested in seeing onboard?” The angusaur angled his head over his shoulder to give his companion a side eye. “We can use this chance to figure out our own versions of the maps. That’s how I learned the tunnel systems back home.”

Celeste - pilot for The Sovereign - Sentient Star Fragment - - Location: The Bridge - Tags: Jerdana

The edges of Celeste’s metallic lower eyelids crinkled with her smile, Jerdana’s excitement for visiting Illuviaa bit infectious. “I bet so, and for most of our other crewmates as well. As.. exciting… as parts of this journey might be, it will be well worth it. I have a feeling we won’t soon forget it, either.” All of them were the best of the best in their respective fields after all, so Celeste wasn’t worried even with their unfamiliarity of the route. Maybe it was even designed that way on purpose- add a bit of excitement for the passengers, and a little test for those paving the way for the cruise line’s newest tourist experience.

Celeste leaned forward the tiniest bit when Jerdana spoke of Earth, curious about the warmth in which she recounted facts about her home world. The star fragment felt this part of learning was almost as intriguing as the information itself- even though organic life forms could rarely hold a heat source inside like her own “biology”, there was more warmth in their emotion than she could ever hope to recreate. Even when the content now sounded a bit like it was being recited from a text. They did lean back, however, once Jerdana mentioned not having travelled much past Mars. Celeste had heard of it before, certainly, although there was less buzz around that planet then the one called “Terra”. “Well, thank you for sharing a bit about your home. That, along with some other things, is what ‘new’ means to me, so I appreciate it.” She said with a dip of her head. That does all sound very intriguing, though. It’s much easier for me to conceptualize an entire planet of one environment compared to the variation on yours, even if the crystals are hidden inside the rocks.” Celeste gave a small grin. “Which, I would love to see someday, if we get the chance. The star I am from- and am, I suppose..? Doesn’t have anything of the sort, so I guess you could consider me a little jealous.”

At this, Celeste angled their seat to continue half-facing Jerdana but also half-face their screens of operation. With a lift of their hand, another, smaller window opened up and the fragment pulled up satellite images for their destination. The photos were surprisingly clear, almost showing the transparent gleam in the crystalline structures. “I hope we’ll be able to have some free time once we’re there. It’ll be my first time actually enjoying an environment as opposed to trying not to scrape a ship on it.” She joked, moving the window to the screen right between both of their places. “It seems like we’ll at least have enough time to plan for things to do.” Should the ship continue to sail smoothly, then Celeste hoped the two of them could put off their responsibilities for at least a little while. There was no piloting or navigating a ship that was grounded, she figured.

The handsome but also cute male hummed quietly. He nodded along as the lizard like alien sounded out the word. He smiled at the other, after blinking a couple times, and nodded once more. He said “Yes, yes, nice to meet you as well, Francis. Hmm…what is the name of your species?” he then asked. Had the other already told Sorinn what his species was? Sorinn didn’t remember that, but maybe Francis had said it. Still, he asked him to be sure of what the species of the other male was called. He nodded as the other then spoke of the name Francis. He said “It’s interesting you should use that name, then. I think it suits you just fine though.” He then nodded as the other said his name in his own language was also considered unisex. He wondered if he could ask him to say his true name. It might be a difficult name for himself to understand. He shook his head a couple times. Then smiled as he looked at the male lizard alien, and said “Oh, sure sure, you definitely look courageous and selfless.”

He chuckled when the other did a little hop. He found that cute, as Francis really did highly resemble a lizard of some sort. Most lizards were cute, though some he found himself unsure of. Such as iguanas…but there was no reason to get into that. He nodded for the fifth or sixth time as the other spoke again. He said “I’m fine with that, I’m starting to get a little hungry.” He then watched the golden reptile scramble to the hallway. He tilted his head as he seemed to study him, then followed him. He chuckled again as he listened, and watched. He shrugged to himself, then said “Okay,” to the other. Who it turned out didn’t seem to actually be able to recognize stars. That or he just got easily distracted, or both things could be true. Shaking his head, he watched him continue to walk. He said “I hadn’t said anything about that, actually. I would be interested in finding the library. We could also try and find the shopping sector that seems to be somewhere around.”
