laurel was pulled out of a police car with her hands cuffed behind her back. today was the first day of the villain reformation project, whatever that was. laurel had a bright smile as she noticed the heroes all lined up waiting to get their little villain sidekick. she glanced back at the officer who was escorting her. "listen bud, i'm gonna be a good guy now, so if you would so kindly uncuff me that would be great!" he ignored her and moved her to the line of villains that was forming as more arrived.

damien was waiting next to the other heroes. he felt sort of nervous to see what villain he would be paired with, most of them looked rather annoying to be with. he sighed as he watched the villains get unloaded from their cars and placed in front of them to be paired with a hero.

Issac stood near the end of the long line of heroes, which contained faces that were both familiar to him, and many who were not. Altogether, this wasn't very surprisingly. The roster of active heroes had changed greatly over the years, and while many were still on duty, Issac was aware of others who were greatly enjoying the benefits of retirement. Issac himself had been edging towards retirement. Safety Hazard was never a high-profile hero. He couldn't leap buildings in a single bound, or fly faster than a mach yet. Whenever a disaster occurred, he had to flag down a taxi. This projection, the reformation, or whatever. This was it. His final hurrah before he hung up the metaphorical cape and tried out uninterrupted normalcy for once.

A small, spherical drone floated above the line of heroes, bobbing gently on the soft blue glow of three pulsing hoverjets. It looked to be a simple ball of smooth brushed steel, save for a circular screen that was currently displaying a simple, pixelated face. Safe, non-threatening. SIF calculated this was the best frame for a first impression.

It wasn't her only presence, of course. She also had a live satellite feed of the site, the view from several nearby security cameras, as well as the cameras and radios of all the squad cars carrying the villains participating in the program. Obviously, she had pulled up the files on all the participants long ago, on both sides. It was her algorithm they'd used for the selection, after all.

While she waited for the others to arrive, SIF took a moment to review the file on her own partner. Andre Williamson, more widely known as Acrobat. Minor gravikinetic powers, limited primarily to his own person. Largely an opportunist, no real severe crimes. Mostly B&E and cat-burglary. Fairly straightforward, unlike some of the others.

"Has everyone gone over their dossiers?" SIF asked, her voice broadcast from the drone's speakers, as well as the heroes' cell phones. "I sent you all an email on the relevant information, it should give you an idea as to how to interact with your new partners. I also outlined a rudimentary two-week integration program to take them through the paces of being a hero, but feel free to proceed however you wish. You all have more experience than me, and algorithms can only go so far."
