"We wait outside and see if he starts bleeding, in which case we force the door open and get him to a hospital? I don't know, Clara! I am not the best at this, either!"

felix //
"No. I guess I don't. I mean...I do. For a few seconds. And then I recover. It's a bit weird. Someone once tried to break my arm. It snapped for a few seconds and then I was...perfect. It was kinda strange. Why?"

Jace Parker
Jace had fallen asleep for only a few minutes when he was awakened by knocks at his door. He tiredly opened his eyes and sat up on his bed. "Yes?" He called out but there was a long pause before anyone answered back. "Jace. what is going on?" He was surprised to hear his father's voice. "Nothing, why?" He asked. There was another long pause and then his father spoke again, "You need to cool down. You need to cool down now." Jace's brows furrowed in confusion and he peered over at his mirror which was all fogged up due to the rising temperature in the room. No, the entire house. Jace bit his lip and got out of his bed. His cats, who had been enjoying his warmth only moments ago, were now panting from the heat. Jace hurried into his bathroom and immediately turned his shower on. When the cold water touched his body it created a cloud of steam just like it had before.

Theo //
He shrugged. "No reason, just wondering..." Theo wasn't especially concerned about the day's strange happenings - and the even stranger people he'd stumbled across. He wasn't entirely normal either, he knew. "Are we almost at your house?"

Clara //
"Do you think the large steam cloud is a bad sign?" Clara raised her eyebrows suspiciously. "I'm beginning to doubt Jace is as fine as he thinks he is."

finny //
"Undoubtedly. Should we help him, or...call paramedics...or..or...Clara, help me here. Please help me." Finny turned to Clara, grabbing her friend by the shoulders and roughly shaking her.

felix //
"Yeah, pretty close. What do you do for fun, Theo? Tell me about yourself. I know nothing about you, and you have officially been dubbed my new best friend. I want to know about you. Tell me about your friends! What do their voices sound like? How tall are they? Are they interesting? Do they catch butterflies? Can they sing Nine In The Afternoon?"

Clara //
"Crap," she agreed with the same velocity. "Crap crap crap. I feel like paramedics wouldn't know what to do with weird steam boy." Clara stared at her hands helplessly. "Climb up to his room? Abduct him so I can rain on him again?" Clara's powers and physical state were still worn out, but she knew that she could pull herself together in order to save Jace from certain death via melting.

Theo //
"Thanks," he said, "I'm flattered. Um, like I said, I'm really not that fascinating. I like to go on walks with my dog?" Theo groaned. "Back in BC, there are about five hundred times more hiking trails than malls and movie theatres and whatever city people have," he laughed. "So, I wound up doing a lot of canoeing and hiking, mostly with Fisher, my loser of a dog." He smiled fondly. "I did have friends, and I must admit I did spend a fair amount of time on the internet. And, as for my friends? Uh, there were three of us, me, Chad and Bronwyn. I've been meaning to call them..." Theo paused for a moment; this was the most he'd said for months. "We were kind of the outsiders, the book nerds, too smart to be popular but not smart enough to hang out with the science geeks. Bronwyn's a photographer, really quiet, reads a lot. Really, really nice. Chad? He's probably my favourite person in the world." I may or may not have a crush on him. "I wish you could meet them."

Felix stopped walking. He slowly turned around and stared at Theo. "Theo. Theo, call them right now. Right this instant, or I will dig your phone out of your pocket and call them for you. I need to know EVERYTHING about your friends. And I mean EVERYTHING. I need to be friends with my friends' friends. I need to be friends, Theo. I NEED. Also, I will fight Chad for your favorite. We can have a whole gladiator tournament for the great honor of being your favorite."

finny //
"I don't know, Clara! I just know that I don't want him to DIE BECAUSE HE IS LITERALLY THE ONLY PERSON I HAVE MET IN MY ENTIRE LIFE THAT MAKES ME WORRY ABOUT WHAT I SAY IN CASE I MESS UP, CLARA! HE IS THE ONLY PERSON IN MY WHOLE LIFE THAT HAS BEEN ABLE TO MAKE ME...I DON'T EVEN KNOW, CLARA, I'VE NEVER LIKED ANYONE BEFORE, BUT IF I HAD TO PINPOINT A FEELING FOR IT, IT WOULD BE HOW I FEEL ABOUT JACE!" She paused, taking a deep breath and lowering her volume. "I just.....I don't want him to get hurt. I really don't want him to get hurt. I still owe him money for coffee, anyway, so he better end up okay! Let's...knock on the door or something. Politely so we don't scare anybody."

Theo //
"Er, okay," he snorted. "I'd rather not have you fight Chad, as he'd be dead in about ten seconds, but I will certainly call him." Chad had texted Theo earlier this week to tell him that Bronwyn was on a camping trip with her parents and wouldn't have internet or mobile access, so Theo figured his only option now was to call Chad. "The last time I've talked to him on the phone, he was half asleep, so here goes." Theo dialed Chad's number, crossing his fingers and hoping he picked up.

Clara //
She was silent for a moment. "I've never felt that way, but if you do, then we better make an effort. Also, it's definitely rude not to repay him, so he better not die." Clara steeled herself, then grabbed Finny's arm and strode up to the door.

"I can't die very easily. Like, you'd have to snap my neck to kill me. Of course he might die. I wouldn't kill him, though. Not intentionally." Felix grinned at Theo, though it was barely visible in the darkening light. Felix was oddly illuminated by a far-off streetlamp, that strange outline of light around someone as the sun sets. This outline seemed to darken the rest of him, as if his form was inconsequential to the outline surrounding him. Light was weird in that way.

finny //
"I owe him like seven bucks." Finny mumbled, muffling her own words with her hand. She gently raised her other hand and knocked gently on the door. She was, sadly, fully aware of the fact her knees felt like they were going to collapse and her arms felt like lead. Nervous energy does that to a person.
