xxxxxxxxThe group dispersed, everyone going their separate ways. Most ended up in the infirmary with Benji. Aurora might have joined them had she not made plans to speak with Atlas privately. She caught him stalking off and towards the cafeteria. The blonde waited a bit, not wanting to be a bother, before heading that way and expecting to still find him there. She took a seat beside him, normally asking permission but bearing witness to the fact that he was eating and his mouth was full. Her hands stretched themselves out on the table and then folded together. "Thanks for sticking up for me back there. Marley is a real handful. Still wish you two would have stayed put but it all worked out in the end." A ghost of a smile graced her light pink lips. She might have grabbed his hand and squeezed it was it not occupied. Was that too far? What did it matter, none of them were gonna see past their current ages most likely. This was a never-ending cycle of survival. Instead, she leaned over and kissed his cheek, standing up then and preparing to leave with that. Screw a conversation because she just threw even herself for a loop.

indentation Benji even though he knew, he still felt relif when he had no bites. He nodded at the girl. "Yeah I lived close. When I get the strength, I can tak you there I promise." He stated while laying down. It felt nice to finally relax, the dizziness lessened. "I was in the gas station I usually go to, I notice your suppliers tend to go to the grocery store instead so when Nova popped up, I hid. I used my illusions to make the gas station seems empty to her. The illusion broke when I knocked over a cnady rack, it caused her reality to ripple and she saw glances of me. She tried to throw a knife at my head, missed, and it scared me enough to show myself." He relayed the story of how he met Nova. "We talked and she mentioned bringing me here and thats when I think her name is Marley, the super angry one, showed up and started being threatening, so I tried to hide Nova and I in hopes of protecting us from her, but I had used my power a lot so I drained myself, passed out, woke up in Tripp's arm, and now I'm here." Benji continued looking between Nova and Aries. "I'm sorry I caused so much trouble. And Nova...I'm sorry for accusing you of settting me up. I didn't mean it. I know you didn't. You just wanted to help me. Thank you for everything. I'm glad you'll be staying with me, but I don't blame you for being cold towards me."

She was sitting in a chair a little ways away from them listening to Benji speak. She wondered what made her go to the gas station today, was it just a coincidence? What else would it be? But why did her brain make it a one way track to go to the gas station? She pushed the thoughts away when her she heard her name, this caused her to look up at directly at him as he spoke. It made her feel a little better that he didn't really think that of her, but she still felt a bit angry towards him. "It's fine....just don't expect me to step between you and Marley again" there was the smallest hint of playfulness in her words, but it was mostly overtaken by a cold tone. Her eyes gave her away more, but soon after she looked at the ground again. "So....can we keep him?" she asked Aries, it was like she was asking to keep a pet, but she asked like that purposefully. It was to lighten the mood a little, Aries was just thrown into all of this and with dealing with a stranger, and then having marley in her hair, not even to mention that she knows that Nova went out on her own now, so Nova would probably hear it later.

He heard steps approaching as he was snacking. After all that telepathic communication he has a bit of a headache and most the time it would get better if he ate something. He looked over to see Aurora, she had taken a seat besides him. He smiled and nodded a little towards her. "Hey." he said as his mouth was now empty. He listened to her "It wasn't a big deal, but anything for you." he didn't realize his slip up at first and did an awkward short laugh as his hand went up to the back of his neck for just a moment. "Sorry I didn't listen, It's not often we find a straggler, and I wanted to make sure yo- everyone was okay." he stated as he cleared his throat. Then she kissed his cheek, and his face went red, he blushed as he sat there, not really sure how to react or how to respond. "I...." he wasn't even sure what he was trying to say. "Earlier....when you told me not to come, what did you mean by it..." he wasn't sure why he was asking, probably just curious.

aries listened to benji's story. at the mention of marley, aries let out a quiet puff of air. that girl will be the death of me. she watched the interaction between nova and benji, noting how close they seemed already. she sighed at the news of nova going out alone. she'd have to talk to the other girl about that later. "well, if he wants to stay, we'll have to take a vote. majority rules." aries looked to benji. "i'm aries by the way, not sure if i introduced myself. i'm the leader here. nova's one of our suppliers, and lavendar here is one of our medics." she hesitated. "the angry girl, marley, is one of our scouts. just try to ignore her, okay? she, uh, she's got some anger issues." aries smiled lightly at nova. "once he rests up a bit, you can show benji around."

marley nearly jumped out of her skin at ezra's question. she'd been so absorbed in her thoughts that she hadn't heard him approach. "jeez! you scared the crap out of me." marley huffed loudly, laying back down on the saggy couch. "yeah, i dunno if you've noticed, but aries and i aren't on the best of terms. she thinks i'm irresponsible and have anger issues, but she's the one who seems to hate me for no reason." she rolled her eyes, then looked to ezra. "you wanna sit? since no one else wants to talk to me right now."

xxxxxxxx She stopped in her tracks and turned around, facing a blushing Atlas. “I didn’t want you to get hurt, that’s what I meant. I mean, Storm either, but he’s a fighter. I’m sure you can hold your own...” she stopped and pinched her nose, sighing. “I’m not friends with Storm the way I am with you.” Excuses excuses. They were good friends but she could no longer ignore what had been brewing within her for a long time now. The idea of wanting something more. It had been so preposterous she dismissed it repeatedly but as of late found herself caring less and less. Being on the constant brink of death had her thinking irrationally it seemed.

indentation Benji chuckled "What am I dog now?" The boy knew Nova was trying to lighten the mood. He did feel horrible about what his said to her. "I'm steering clear of Marley. She scares me." He said too seriously. Its true, he never wanted to interact with the girl ever again. Marley was everything he wasn't and it intimated him. "I'm not getting up any time soon, so go on do what you gotta do." Ben spoke to the nurse. When the room cleared and it was just him and Nova, he let out a huge sigh. "Ya know, Today has been a rollercoaster. I'm glad I'm not currently dead or laying on the ground in my tent, but holy cow." He spoke in disbelief.

"Do you think I'll be able to stay?" Benji asked, turning to face Nova completely. He studied her face. "God she's pretty." He thought to himself. From the first time he saw her, he thought she was pretty, he loved her short hair and tattoos. The boy was just to scared to even think about the thought for too long, but now that they're alone again, and safe, he could think it and process it. What he didn't realize was how long he was staring though. He quickly looked elsewhere, when it finally hit him. "I don't want to go back to sleeping on the ground every night, especially since this is the first bed I've been in since the dead-heads happened."

indentation Lavendar smiled at the two. "Well Benji you seem to be in good company. I have a few things I need to do and I'll be back in an hour or so. Aries, here's the med report, just so you have proof when we do vote on him staying or not. I know some people here aren't too keen on outsiders." She handed Aries the report. "Nova, make sure he doesn't move too much, it could cause him to pass out again." The girl spoke this time to Nova. "If anything happens while I'm out, make sure to keep him hydrated and laying down." She stated as she left.

Lav went to the kitchen, she hadn't eaten all day. A headache grew as searched for food. She found a can of peaches. "This'll do, plus I can give the rest to Benji." She thought to herself as she used her utility knife to open it. Lav needed energy before she could pain transfer with Benji, if not then his pain would worsen and she'd be quite tired. She found a bowl and plopped half of the peaches in it, this will be Benji's. She ate the rest straight from the can.

Nova had a half smile on her face to Benji's comment but she hid it. She looked over to Lavendar when the girl spoke to her "Okay, I'll tie him down if i have to.." she joked slightly. She nodded to the medic as she left the room, and once again it was just Nova and Benji. The last time they were alone, things were awesome, he showed her the most beautiful place, but then it got ruined. Would it happen again? She kept her eyes to the ground for a moment before Benji started to talk. "It was different than usual, but there was something I am confused about. Your powers....back at the station, when you went unconscious, it felt like I got hit by a bus. Why?" she asked as she adjusted herself in the seat.
She sighed lightly "I....I'm not sure. I mean a lot of people here are just scared. A new things create more fear because there is a lot of uncertainty. But...after all we put you through, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Some of us still have our humanity." she stated. She had realized that he was staring, she felt her face heat up. Was there something on her face? "That's something I don't miss. Sleeping on the floor was always really uncomfortable." she said recalling when she was alone.

He rubbed the back of his neck and nodded as you could basically see him deflate. "O-of course. That's what I assumed you meant, I was just clarifying." he lied. He offered a light smile to the girl, in so many ways he found her so intriguing and special. She was different from the rest of the girls here. He pushed those feelings away, was there really any time for a relationship? The world was ending and people died when they hit a certain age....was....it worth it? He wondered as he looked at the ground. "Next time...I want to go with you outside the compound. I don't want you getting hurt either." he said lightly.

aries headed over to the scout tower to find tripp. she walked into the inside part of the small building, finding him watching the fence. "hey tripp, wild day, huh?" she leaned against the wall beside him, one leg crossed over the other. "so, what happened? i want to make sure the new kid, uh- benji, i wanna make sure his story lines up with yours." aries smiled encouragingly. "i trust you and your judgement, so don't hold back."

xxxxxxxx"Sure, whatever you say." Aurora winked playfully, the corner of her lip lifting and forming a smirk. Another couple awkward seconds of staring at one another and Atlas was insisting he come along for the ride next time. "Over my dead body. I'm fine, seriously. Forget I can do this?" A pair of throwing knives whisked their way out of her combat boots and tipped themselves in Atlas' direction. "The zombies have nothing on me," she laughed because she wasn't really all that cocky. It was true, to an extent, but if their numbers became overwhelming and it was just her she was bound to die. "I'm thinking of heading back though to get those supplies we needed. If you absolutely insist, I guess you can come. Gives me a good excuse too since you are a scout." Plus, we'll be alone. She extended a hand to help him up if he did decide yes.

ezra jumped just as marley did, "i-i"m sorry, i didn't mean to scare you." he quickly spoke before turning silent when the girl began talking about her relationship with the group leader, aries. he gave a slow nod. yes, he did notice how they were with each other, and it was distressing to ezra. he didn't like the feeling that sparked within the room when they were near each other. he understood how marley felt, though he didn't understand how it came to be like this. he sat down next to her, "do you think you have anger issues?" he asked with a gentle tone. then he thought about the stranger, who he saw earlier coming into camp. ezra knew that the visitor could be playing a part in this, but he couldn't really blame him. he didn't know the full story, but seeing as to how he got himself into the camp, and hasn't shown hostility, ezra considered him to be a potential group member. "it's because of that stranger, too, isn't it, that's got you worked up? i think... we could use an extra. strength in numbers, you know? he might prove himself useful to the group."
