Basil was a bit surprised by his question at first. " Well... not really..." She admitted in her quiet voice, " At least not that I can remember. I never really wanted to before ", Basil smiled back at Soren, " But I'm glad we're sneaking out now though. It's sort of fun". She lead them over to one of the hidden entrances to the caves. " Okay, this should lead us up to the waterfall" Basil said, stepping in to the mouth of the cave, " But, we don't have to go all the was into the Aboveworld if you don't want to "

Soren nodded at her answer, humming slightly. "Well- that's fine. Though you just seem pretty good at it, for never having tried before," he commented, giving a soft chuckle. He smiled. "It's good you're not hating this, at least! I'd feel bad otherwise." He followed her to the entrance, looking into them. He looked at her, furrowing his eyebrows and puffing out his lower lip in thought. "Well, I am curious about it. I've never- never really gone too much past the waterfall, honestly. I've only sat just outside of it." He rubbed the back of his neck. Relaxing his wings and his posture overall, he stepped into the cave, looking around. "If you want to, we can. I wouldn't mind, but I don't wanna make you. It'd be safer with both of us, yes, but both of us would have to want to go."

Arkady sighed, if only he knew what trouble she was. "I'm… different than you." But was being different so bad? She refused to think of herself as the low-life creature so many others thought of her as. Arkady was grateful for the person trying to help her, seeing as he was one of the only people who cared, but what he was asking her to do was almost impossible. Give the book back? It's all I have... She clenched her jaw and raised her chin slightly and glanced at the man with the chains still in his hand. Slowly she reached into her satchel and pulled out the treasured book. Arkady's hands shook, and she tightened her grip in an attempt to make them stop. It was the only thing showing that she was secretly terrified. Not for herself, but for the people she was to care for and the stranger who suddenly had become so interested in her well-being. Her heart beat rapidly and she was sure that if any of them were howlers they would have been able to hear it pounding in her chest. She held the book close to herself, clutching it like it was a life-line.

Aurora nodded and slowly transformed back into a human. She shook out her light blonde hair and ran her fingers through it to get out the remaining tangles. She held the game bag in her hand and walked with long strides. She glanced at Amille, wondering why the girl was suddenly so interested in her well-being. Aurora looked away before being noticed and kept her eyes set on the area before her. Her senses weren't as strong as they were in her animal form, but she could still sense the uneasiness in the air. "Tensions are rising between the Quells and Howlers."

Donatello & Spencer | Filler Post

Slipping a custom made backpack over his shoulder, Don left his house with Spencer practically bouncing at his heels. It was true that it wasn't often he had to perform this difficult task and he was glad to have Spencer come along on the trip. Why hadn't he thought of it before?
"I suppose now we can twice as much material that we need" he stated, glanced towards Spencer's backpack that carried the minimal supplies she needed in case they needed a break. To get to the waterfall, he needed to travel across Solodin and the easiest way was to simply go through the Square. With a bored sigh, he led the way and occasionally glanced towards Spencer as she got distracted by the various shops in the square.
Don stopped dead in his tracks when he saw hawthrones tall figure in the distance so he pivoted on his feet and took a different route to the other side of solodin. "Do not need that dog around us" he grumbled and rubbed his neck. Glancing towards the Castle of the Maoneighs, he calculated they'd only take about thirty minutes to actually get to the waterfalls.

Eating a free crossiant he'd got from a sweet ol' lady that ran the bakery, Ollie happily strolled the square. He usually was given free things when he completed a task only a Red hair Quell could do for the locals. To earn this particular crossiant, he climbed up the bakery building to replace the old, worn out sign with a new one.
Nomming the pastry, he waved hi at others and nodded to wise elders in acknowledgement. Gawd, he loved this city and its people. It wasn't long before the word of a mix acting up spread throughout the square. Not a lot of things happened in Solodin without others finding out about it. Heck...he couldn't even keep his crush on Donnie on the down low. Swallowing the last bite of the pastry, he licked his fingers quietly and paused when he spotted the little huddle of gathering folks. Hawthrone was easy to make out amongst the other due to his height and Ollie raised an eyebrow in curiosity. How would big bro take care of this situation?

Ash was perched up in a tree at the edge of the Howler Border. She had been on watch all day, observing all of the wildlife. Not much had happened since she took over her shift and she was quite bored. Ash could see the tops of the buildings in the human city. Deciding that it was about time that she should head back to camp, she jumped down. Her bare feet hit the leaf covered forest floor.

His dark hair was weaved with pink and he ran a hand through it nervously. Is that how she viewed herself? He studied her face with a crumpled look of pain. Can't blame her, the way this idiot speaks to her. he groaned inwardly before opening his mouth to reply, "I-" Josh stifled another sigh and murmured, "Trust me on this, okay?" he looked up at her with deep brown eyes, most likely from his Hispanic heritage, "Hand him the book, and I'll give you something in return," he explained softly, the expensive ring clutched in his palm as he awaited her next move. He didn't need the useless trinket he had received from some greedy old man in exchange for a rare book and was just burning a hole in his pocket.

Addison sped through the forest and dodged around trees. Running was like a second nature, and she could run for hours without growing tired. She fancied that she was going so fast she wouldn't be able to stop. The human had left her mind the minute she sprang away, relieved to have it over with.

Hawthorne rolled his eyes at Josh's remark. " You don't know who I am do you?" He said, giving a scoff " Hawthorne Montaigh, Captain of the Royal Guard. Maybe you've heard of my father, the king? " Hawthorne rolled his eyes. I should arrest this newcomer for disrespecting an officer He thought grouchily" Look, sir, whoever you are interfering in an arrest. " He looked surprised as Josh held out the ring to her. What... is he doing? . Hawthorne turned his attention back to Arkady, who was shaking. She looked pretty frightened. Hawthorne felt something tug on his heart seeing her like this. He was used to taking down powerful Howlers and big criminals. Arkady just looked... scared and weak like this. It sort of shook the tough soldier in a way. Hawthorne slowly lowered the chains. Though, his stern expression never changed, there was a slight pity in his eyes. It seemed Hawthorne did have some heart after all. " Miss... just give my brother back his book." He said, as gently as possible. He held out his hand, stepping closer carefully as to not scare her. Hawthorne still had a job to do though. He had to protect the city from thieves and other criminals. " Give it back and we can forget it even happened" Hawthorne promised.

Leo distracted himself as soon as the question of the Quell came up. He looked at the ground, to his side, up at the sky, anywhere except the human. His ears flicked towards sounds he heard in the forest, feeling slightly uneasy as he ventured away from his territory. As the village came into view, his eyes narrowed and his animal instincts demanded he go on the denfensive. "Yeah um," he coughed awkwardly, sounding more like he was gagging, "I better go. Oh," he looked up to the human, "Remember to not say anything and Don't go into the deep dark woods because it's dangerous for fragile humans." Leo smiled, or well he tried to smile though it was an epic fail, "And dream of my spots cause ya know they are better than stripes"

" Why thank you" Basil said, giving a bubbly laugh, " Maybe I ought to sneak out more often! This a lot more fun than just reading about the caves." She grinned crookedly at Soren, knowing that she probably wouldn't sneak out. Basil nodded in agreement. She hadn't really seen the waterfall before either, but she had read about it. Basil fiddled with her bangs as she thought about it. "I'd like to see the waterfall too, I think. Technically, we wouldn't have to go very far to the Aboveground." She reasoned," And we'd be perfectly safe together, right? I think we should do it, just this once?"
