I start my day by dropping a pie on the floor.
Excellent.
I pick it up, mop the floor, and trash the remnants of the pie.
Sugarlicious has its grand opening in a few minutes. In the mall. There are lots of people and not all that much nature in a mall, but since my food was apparently good enough to get me here, I came.
I almost wish I hadn't. There's a lot of pressure on me to do this right. If the grand opening doesn't go well, it will shed bad light on me for the rest of my career. I've made some great-looking pies this morning--apple, raspberry, blueberry, cherry, and the list continues. There are berry themed cakes and cupcakes too. I've even got a little table covered in sample cups of raspberry jam.
I turn the OPEN sign on and unlock the doors, crossing my fingers that today goes well.

Sometimes ... being an early riser wasn't very fun. Looking at myself in the reflection of the long mirrior that hung on the inside of my bedroom I ruffled the shaggy hair on top my head and glared at the half-asleep zombie that stared back at me. The sun wasn't up yet and unfortunately I knew I would have to leave the house soon as I couldn't stand being inside for so long. After a nice long and hot shower with several minutes dedicated to making sure every inch of my was dry I felt as though maybe I was ready to take the day one. With that thought in my mind I grabbed up the keys that lay next to my bed and set out on the journey to the mall, intent on finding some cute new clothes to wear.

"M-maybe I shouldn't be here..." I thought to myself as I watched a woman change the sign on one of the shops in the mall to open. It seemed as though they has just opened for the first time which in one respect was good as I didn't really want to be around a whole horde of others ... but then again I could be putting the owners at an inconvience by sitting in the corner, possibly too shy to even let them know what I was ordering. Sighing I finally made the choice and slowly took the steps needed to bring me into the new shop, eyes scanning around the room and taking in the delicious scent of all the freshly baked pies.

I've just opened and someone's already walked in. That was fast, and I'm still nervous.
I take a shaky breath and smile. "Hello. Can I direct you to the free samples of raspberry jelly on the table there? A-and as you're the first customer, you get a free pie of your choice." Exhale. Gosh, why is it so hard to talk to people? Especially this guy. He looks nice and almost as nervous as I am.
