Wonderland: There Is No Way Out

Hatter crossed his hands and stood up straight when Furrattā jumped out of the tree. "Oh," he kind of squeaked. "There you are." He commented with a smile, exposing his slightly yellowed teeth. "Well, please excuse me, but I am on my way to see the white queen. Good day to you, Furrattā." He said with one last tip of his hat and he turned, walking back down the trail.

Furattā blinked and watched him leave. "Can I come with you?" she asked him as she started following him before he answered. She looked around then looked back at Hatter.

Hatter looked back down at Furattā. "I can't see why not. What business have you with the queen?" He asked, somewhat perplexed.

Furattā smiled at him. "Nothing, I'm just bored," she said and jumped over a rock. "I have nothing else better to do," she added and looked back up at Hatter.

Hatter nodded and looked back ahead. A sudden confused frown came to his face when he wondered if he would be good enough to fill her free time. But he didn't say anything about it. He was mad, he had crazy thoughts like that all the time.

Furattā looked up at him and blinked. "Hatter, what's wrong?" she asked him, her smile replaced by a worried look. Was it something she had said?

Hatter looked down at Furattā and gave his usual cheesy smile again. "Oh nothing. I was just thinking..." He looked ahead at the road and gave a blank expression. "And then I realized...I was thinking..." He said with a shocked look.

Furattā tilted her head to one side, then decided to just not question him. She just looked forwards and skipped a little bit. She started humming again.

"That's a lovely song, Furattā, where did you learn it?" Hatter asked, trying to make some small talk.

Furattā stopped humming and looked up at the Hatter. "I made it up," she told him with a little smile. She took her stuffed animal off her head and cradled it like a baby.
