Ahzenai

This is the first Ahzenai of the new lines, he is a male. His name is pronounced Ay-eh-too-oh.

The vortex, which had been wan and lifeless, began to slowly pick up speed. Its colorless aura was infused with hints of deep, salty turquoise and a splash of refreshing seafoam and sky blue. With a great rumble and the sound of humongous, typhoon-like waves rearing and crashing like the hooves of wild horses, the vortex's spinning slowly quelled, until only the sound of pattering raindrops remained. It was then that the white-brushed paw, much like seafoam itself, sliced through the twirling winds, followed by the rest of the lithe figure. A smile, gentle and curious, played across the creature's lips.
"Hello," he said, his bright eyes sweeping the gathered crowd as he shook reflective droplets from his bluish coat. "I am known as Aeituo. I have come forth to seek someone who can teach me, someone able to reflect on life and see old things in a new way. Old souls in fresh bodies, come forward. Our spirits have much to learn from one another."

woo ;; the day was dragging on. the wind picked up as the clouds began filling in the sky and the sun was hidden. the air was thick with moisture, and it seemed getting a downfall was inevitable. just oustide the vortex cave, a summer-tanned girl and an orange and black ahzenai were laying together, the girl's head on the ahz's back and her legs sprawled out in front of her. her eyes were fixed at the darkening sky, and her body shifted up and down evey few moments as the orange beast she rested on breathed deeply. heat seemed to radiate off of the ahzenai, and the girl was glad of it as the days grew colder with winter here on ahzen.
"it's december. why is it so humid and wet outside?" the girl thought out loud. she wasn't exactly expecting an answer, but the ahzenai responded anyway in her gentle, feminine tone. "have you approached the vortex yet? you can practically feel rain when you're around it. i don't blame the rest of them for going back into our cave, kat." kat turned her head to look into the black-spotted female's eyes, which were now glancing at her. "weird. maybe it has something to do with a new creation. what do you think, ichi?" she asked, folding her hands on her stomach and sighing. "that seems to be the only explanation." ichi responded, yawning. both of them were tired from the dragging day.
suddenly a loud whooshing sound tore up behind them, coming from the vortex. kat rolled on her side to face it, and squinted to get a better look. with a gasp she watched as a turquoise ahzenai spilled from its foaming blue swirls, and took its steps forward into the new world. he flashed a curious smile and introduced himself as 'aeituo'. ichi's ears perked as she heard his beautiful name, and her tail fluffed up in excitement. kat saw her reaction and couldn't hold back her wide grin, "looks like you've found someone interesting." she bit her lower lip to contain her sweet laugh, but she laid a hand on ichi and followed her closer to the handsome blue ahzenai. ichi's eyes went wide as she looked him over, not saying a word until she was happy with her observations. "he's, uhh... gor--a water elemental." she fixed herself before looking away. kat smoothed out ichi's fur with her long-fingered hands, "he's pretty." she said in a cheeky way, before continuing on, "go talk to him. you're a crafty ahz with a crafty owner. old things into new things? no problem. i mean look at you! you make vintage stylish." she threw the words at ichi with such force, the orange and black ahzenai was speechless. the two were at a stance facing each other, eyes locked, tail swishing and arms flying.
ichi opened her mouth, but no words came out. kat spoke for her. "we both know you want him, right? we both know you can have him, too, if you try hard enough." by the end of her 'glorious speech', ichi was staring at the ground, twitching anxiously. "what if he rejects me? i... i've never had my heart broken before." suddenly kat's gaze softened. she walked up to ichi slowly and wrapped her arms around her neck in a hug meant solely to comfort her. "ichi," she said softly, "you don't figure things out by watching and wondering. you learn by taking risks. just ask him. countless times have you pushed me towards wooing when i thought i would only stutter out one word and flee off. now i am trying to do the same for you. remember persica? she came to us through you. we have the choice of taking aeituo in, to show him how we do things around here. taking old memories and using them for new things. this is what he wants, and it's what we have. all you have to do is ask." she breathed, and let go of her warm orange ahzenai. she gave her a nudge toward the great turquoise male, and smiled, gesturing onward.
ichi longed to turn tail and go hopping back to their cave, but she didn't want to lose her chance at the beautiful water ahzenai. finally she mustered up any willpower she had left and bounded over to him, ears pricked and eyes shining. she drew up smile, too, and found it easier to look into his blue, foamy eyes than she thought it would. the air was thick with moisture around him, almost like a cloud, but it was cool and collected. he was marvelous.
"aeituo." she said smoothly, loving the sound of his name on her tongue. she said it again, this time looking thoughtfully at him, "aeituo. if you would like to join us, you are welcome. there are several ahzenai in my family, and we all have our certain skills. i'm sure there is a place for you, where i would be happy to relish in the past, and turn it into wonderful things for the future. with you." she added, then dipped her head respectfully to the powerfully-looking ahzenai and whisked away, feeling pride and a spark of love swell up inside her.
