thornclan came to be when rosestar,' the clans founder, had settle
in this area due to the fauna and ample flora that was found.i' the
clan grew, and before they knew it, thornclan had become a large
and relatively tightnit group. 'all was well, perfect, even; up until
cryptids,' or "creatures of nightmares" began to surface.' these cre
atures fed in the dark,'i' and thrived off of the clan's fear of them.
these creatures were relentless,' and stopped at near nothing to g
et to the clan whenever it was dark. after rosestar's death, the ne
w leader started implementing rules, set in stone to keep the clan
safe.' over time,' and after multiple different leaders visited and r
evised the rules,'' thornclan was safe again.' the creatures became
the least of their worries while the rogues at the east started mak
ing their rise. slowly, the creatures of nightmares became nothing

sun was out. of course,' the sun didn't always stop these creatures
but it did, admittedly,i make the clan a lot more safe in their hom

the dobhar-chú (or "water hound") is a long,i dark, and furry creature that liv
es in the depths of baile an chú.' this creature resembles an otter, but is muc
h, much larger, and far more aggressive; with long teeth that are designed fo
r tearing and shredding.i' dobhar-chú often uses it's tail to try and mimic that
of a cat to lure the unsuspecting closer to the lake,' and in that same vain ha
s gotten good at copying the sounds of cries.' this creature is fast both on lan
d and in the water, but does prefer the water as it is easier to not leave a sin
gle trace of it's victim.i the dobhar-chú doesn't like to leave the area of the l
ake, as it's a bit of a sanctuary, but can be seen on shore- until it notices you

⋆ 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽 || the camp of thornclan is nestled in the deeply wooded area, tucked in a small clearing. the camp itself consists of 5 dens. the leader and medicine cat share a den, just behind the calling rock. the warriors den, closer towards the camp entrance. the apprentices den, located near the elders den. the nursery, nestled in a small cave which burrows into the ground, and the elder's den, one composed of tree roots that also burrows down into the dirt. bushes are lined around the front of the dens / small caves to provide some semblence of safety, especially for the nursery.

⋆ 𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 || the old clearing, a clearing that was once a distant part of the camp, is located a little ways outside of camp. this area is guarded by thick trees, and shadowed over vaguely by the trees. this area of their territory was often used as a training ground for apprentices and warriors working on their own skills.

⋆ 𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 || this area is considered to be the clan's graveyard. it is a ways out of the clan, close to the rolling hills. this area is where all deceased cats are brought, and buried respectfully. each grave is marked with flowers or plants of some form, especially relating to the cats which are deceased. rogues, loners, and kittpets are also buried here, regardless of whether they were a part of the clan. a very quiet area.

⋆ 𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱 || the rippling pond was once a very popular sunbathing spot. this area had little trees close to the pond. there was also a large, boulder-like rock that rested over top of a small waterfall - which is where most cats would sit and sunbathe or chat, some swimming in the shallow-ish water of the pond.

⋆ 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 || the rolling hills are just what they sound like, a series of hills - there are few trees here, but what is there provides ample shade to the area. there's a small river / creek that runs through from baile an chú, feeding into a very small body of water. a popular hunting spot, as there were plenty of rabbit dens present. would often be occupied by deer, which made it an equally as dangerous place to be when there at the wrong time.

⋆ 𝗯𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝘂́ || baile an chú, or "home of the hound" is the large lake far off from camp. this lake is inhabited by the dobhar-chú [translating to "water dog" or "water hound"], which is how the lake had gotten it's name. this area is a good spot to catch shallow water fish, as well as frogs and lizards. past the sunset, this area becomes active for any cryptids which choose to inhabit the area, but especially the dobhar-chú. this area is strictly forbidden during the night time due to the danger of the dobhar-chú. a long river runs down from this lake as well, but there haven't been any reported sightings of dobhar-chú in these waters.

⋆ 𝗺𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝘃𝗲 || the moon cave is a east of baile an chú, and is engulfed in a thick fog. here is where the leaders go to get their lives from their ancestors, and medicine cats go to gather their own blessings. this area is also used as a general communication spot for the great cats above- frequently visited by the medicine cat. they only way to enter this cave is to hop across a rock pathway through the water. this area has since been nearly forbidden due to the darkness.

⋆ 𝗿𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽 || on the other side of the river is an area that rogues have since taken as their own; this area isn't frequently visited, however it is notable that the clan has previously attempted to chase these cats out. while they have failed, the rogues have started to keep their distance and respecting the clan's vast territory, only crossing over every so often. this area is no longer check up on due to the darkness, and not wishing to cross the river without any source of light.
