A lazy breeze blows its way across the savanna, downed in the golden light of the afternoon sun. Aside from the breeze, the land seems peaceful and at-ease. Entranced by the calm scene, you pad your way through the tall grasses, not quite sure where you're going- not particularly caring either. The heat from the radiating sun over your back penetrates your skin; you decide that a tree over in the distance provides perfect shade for a short rest.
As you had suspected, the canopy from the towering acacia provides an immense shadow that engulfs the surrounding floor of the tropical grassland. The slightly cooler temperature makes for the best spot for a nice afternoon nap. You stretch yourself underneath the tree's massive branches, your eyelids drooping slightly- the motive of sleep nagging you to shut them. Giving in, you place your head delicately over your paws, falling once more into the same trance-like state. You are almost fully won over until a massive set of paws stomp in front of your face, your illusion shattered.
"I haven't seen your face before," a strong, demanding voice comments,"May I ask of your intentions? If you are from surrounding territories, I assume you know the law. If however you are not....., or are a rogue, I suggest your best intentions are to leave this place now."
You clumsily lift your head up to stare at...a lioness glaring back down at you. Your memory is a tad groggy at the moment, part of you thinks you recognize her. However, another half fails to place a name to her face. You are indeed in a very sticky situation, how might you answer...?

-||Introduction||-
Once, quite long ago, a large and prosperous pride reigned over the vast land. Unlike most prides, the king allowed any rogue or stranger who had lost their way into their pride with open arms, and so they were called the 'Harambe Pride' from the word that means 'to come together'. No one can trace back all the way to the founding members, for the pride was that old. However, most can remember back to the ruler of the pride's golden age, Agani.
A fair, and just ruler, Agani was beloved by all of his pride-mates and members of other species that admired him for his way of ruling. He had three sons, the eldest who was to assume the crown after Agani's passing, and the two younger ones who watched from afar. The youngest, assumed his fate and never questioned that he may never be king. However, the middle-child, was jealous. Extremely jealous. He would do anything to get a chance before his older brother that he staged an elaborate plan to make his father see him more fit to rule.
Unfortunately, the plan backfired, and an aging Agani deemed something must be done. He had become ill, and at his age, was not expected to live for much longer. He gathered his three sons at his side and divided his vast territory into thirds. The oldest, Kali, received the majority of the grassland area, the youngest, Dhara, was given the river valley, and the middle, Baradi, the dry desert.
Since then, all three brothers split into their own prides and their sons now live in their place. It has been forbidden for any pride to cross over to the others territory. However, Baradi was not as successful as his brothers. He kept a single lioness at hand who eventually bore him two cubs who now seek revenge for their father.
It is time to pick your pride, but choose wisely...your position may just determine your survival if war breaches the calm of the savanna....
-||Rules||-
1. All of Tess' rules apply, so if you're unsure, check there first. ^^
2. This is a semi-literate role play, which means I expect at a bare minimum of one to two well-written paragraphs. That's not too hard guys, right?
3. Please use correct grammar, spelling, punctuation etc. A few mistakes here and there is fine, I mean we're all human.
4. None of the god-modding, power playing motions. You are in control of your character and your character only.
5. Don't spam, whine, complain, start fights. It will only get this thread locked. D8
6. If you need to speak OOC, use ((...)), but don't get too carried away or it starts to count as spam.
7. I don't really like RPing with Mary-sue like characters, with that in mind I would suggest creating a well-thought out more original character. ^^
8. I don't care if your lion is unrealistic in coloring, but lions in real life don't have wings and can't breathe fire, so I wouldn't use those types of characters. ^^ Limit on three to four characters. ^^
9. I personally find it extremely insulting to artist's whose artwork of their own characters are used for RPing. Use your own characters, or a photo. I don't believe that's a reportable offense, but you wouldn't like someone using your characters, now would you?

The small group of rogues that reside in this harsh desert are known to be followers of the exiled brother. Their harshness towards strangers and members of other prides has kept others of their territory. The word on the wind suggests that they are planning a secret overthrow of the two other prides to rule their own large pride over all of the territory. Anyone who ventures here has a reason for doing so....

-||My Characters||-
FORM:

Name: Anjea
Gender: Female
Age: Four years
Pride Affiliation: Nile Pride
Desired Position: Healer
Kin: A direct descent of Dhara, and a lioness whom was not his true mate, both of which are currently deceased. She has two brothers who had become rogues with no desire to rule. Since that day, Anjea has not heard from either of the two, but assumes they are somewhere withing the immediate territory of the Nile.
Personality: Anjea, in a way, likes to live in her own mind. She cares not for the politics and harshness of the real world, finding it to be rather boring. Rather, Anjea likes to be by herself, making her quite solitary. Slightly contradictory to her personality, Anjea loves her position as a Healer. Her real talent is mixing herbs and leaves to create remedies for the sick or frail. The land of the Nile Pride, known for it's tolerance of rogues, often finds stray males injured from a battle for their own pride. Unlike any other pride would, Anjea helps the fallen and demoralized males. Truly, it's the only thing that gives her real happiness, and she wouldn't give it up for the world.
Background:
Anjea's parents were partly royalty of the pride. Her father, Dhara, the youngest brother ruled over his land with a lax grip on his subjects. Never setting a true example, Anjea distasted the idea of ruling and rejected her chance at the crown. Similarly, her brothers did so as well, deciding they would rather become rouges instead. Heartbroken, her mother died of grief. In the aftermath, Anjea became an apprentice to the current healer of the pride, destined on taking over the position. Following the death of her father, Anjea assumed the title of 'Healer' and respected the new ruler, not minding her possible birth right one bit.
[center]FORM:

Name: Mkali
Gender: Male
Age: Three (Roughly twenty-one or so in human years)
Pride Affiliation: Kalahari Pride
Desired Position: Pride Leader
Kin: None that are worth mentioning...
Personality:
Extremely proud, and brash, Mkali rules the Kalahari Pride with a dominant presence. He is quite boastful of his lineage, being the son of the Kali and the grandson of Agani. However as fate would have it, Mkali isn't very brawny or muscular. Having inherited his mother's physique, Mkali is often mistaken for a lesser lion, or that is not of high status as such. This may or may not be blamed on his young age for a ruler. Still sprouting his mane, Mkali still has the appearance of a teenager. He is quick to silence anyone who dares to insult him for his appearance, indirectly notifying everyone of his weakness. Egotistical Mkali, won't ever admit something so weak as that, leaving most to just say what they will behind his back letting their leader live in his own ideal, self-favoring fantasy.
Background:
Born to Kali and his Queen, Mkali was destined for royalty alongside his younger sister, Kasi. If it wasn't obvious enough, Mkali's name bears resemblance to his great father, though his son has yet to fill his paw-prints entirely. Upon assuming his throne at quite a young age, Mkali's sister, Kasi, left the pride. Though it did not cause Mkali much sadness, he was angry at his sister for abandoning the pride because she was royalty. Determined to find her, Mkali often asks his huntresses to keep an eye out while on their daily hunts. Currently, Mkali has been getting word from various rogues that the Jangwa Pride is plotting...something. Having been already wary of them before, Mkali has now put a ban on accepting unfamiliar rouges to his pride, fearing his crown.
