xxxxemberclan has always been known for it's traditions and drive to stick to them. they hold themselves to high standards and honor the path that has been set out for them by their ancestors thousands of moons ago, and it is seen as a high privilege to continue on in the ways of the clan. traditions like bloodline preservation and assigned mates were instilled to keep the clan out of drama, and were reinforced after a disastrous attempt at overthrowing them.

xxxxaround a generation ago, one of the clan's leaders fell in love with the medicine cat. it ended in disaster, half the clan torn between wanting to keep their traditions and the other half wanting to get rid of the pairing altogether to be with whoever they wanted to. many fights broke out and resulted in heavy loss, betrayal, and grief. the clan was in shreds by the time the next leader came into power and continued on throughout his reign as well.

xxxxfinally, a new leader came into play. featherstar insisted on keeping the tradition and made it very clear that anyone who wanted to continue living under the chaos would be exiled from the clan. she was a tough, strict leader who kept things in order for the time of her reign, but after her recent death, a group of cats are secretly planning on revolting once more and trying to change the way things go for emberclan. they're sick of not having the freedom to love, to be themselves, and to make their own choice. welcome back to emberclan.

4. medicine cats may not take mates or have kits to distract from their duty.

6. queens must return to their warrior duties immediately after their kits have become apprentices.
7. disobeying the code will result in punishment ranging from being temporarily banished from the camp to being permanently banished from the territory.

emberclan lives within a small pocket of valley in a large, rocky mountain range. their camp is the safest spot for miles, and anywhere beyond it is practically uninhabitable to anyone who isn't built for the terrain. surrounding the small gorge that emberclan calls home is a forest of tall conifers. within the gorge, dens are dug into the sides of the walls around them, accessible by ledges and rocks. emberclan cats are naturally good at climbing due to their camp's conditions. there is a highledge behind the leader's den and the medicine den is directly below. clan meetings are held within the floor of the gorge below the highledge. emberclan cats hunt in the forest that surrounds them, and there is a small river just outside of the camp that allows for swimming and fishing as well.
