HollowClan [Warrior Cats With Powers] O&A

Postby Dracowolf » Fri Aug 28, 2020 11:51 am

The cats of the Fog Lands have always been known to be in touch with unique and ancient spirits. These spirits greet kits becoming apprentices at the Standing Stones, strange statues of each spirit that sit in a circle in the center of the lands the clans share. When a kit becomes an apprentice, they will approach the stones at night and be visited by one spirit in their dreams, gaining a blessing from the spirit, a new power or a strange change.

This ritual is repeated when an apprentice becomes a warrior, receiving either another blessing from a different spirit, which is the most common, or being visited by the first spirit again to become more powerful.

Within The Fog Lands are two clans, once there were three but the third has been lost for a long time. HollowClan lives within the Hollow Ruins, abandoned by twolegs centuries ago.

The other clan is MossClan who lives in moor among the tall grass and weeds.

Between the two clans is a large forest, and in the center is where the Standing Stones wait.

Everything has been normal for the clans for generations, but suddenly they have found unnatural tracks in the Highlands where the berserking clan of the past once lived. The spirits have remained unusually silent, and it feels like there is a storm on the horizon coming for them. Hollowclan has braced themselves in their ruins but their stone walls have not stopped the unease from sinking in. To add to their unease, the once friendly MossClan has started to cut contact and become more protective of the borderline.

Rules

Postby Dracowolf » Fri Aug 28, 2020 11:51 am

About and Rules

This RP will have a plot focus rather than slice of life. That being said there will of course be normal lives going on between the plots and if you want your own side plot that’s fine. The main focus is on HollowClan and their ruins.

Powers are controlled in this RP, your warrior gets 2 blessings.

The first blessing will often have options for you to choose from. For example, Cats of the Tiger choose between Fireball, Fire Shield, Flame Strike (Claws) for their blessing.

The second blessing is either from the same spirit (Rare) and gets a larger ability or is from another spirit complete (You’d get to choose from the first blessing)

So, if a cat is blessed by the Tiger Spirit twice, they may have Fire Shield and Flame Spirit is their second blessing.

A cat that is blessed by the Clouded Leopard for their first blessing gets wings but may be blessed by the Panther for their second blessing giving them the choice of Shade Thorns or Shade Walk.

Rules
1. Please remember site rules, review them if you need to.
2. Do not god mode or power play.
3. Use logic, seasoned warriors do not lose to apprentices or even struggle.
4. I except grammar to be at least decent. Spelling should be good but everyone makes mistakes. Many use a phone/tablet so autocorrect is expected to occasionally happen.
5. I expect you to give people something to work with. I will not enforce a minimum or maximum length, everyone has different muse levels on different days.
6. I do allow a relaxed pace for replies. Real life comes before RP life.
7. Take OOC and characters to the discussion thread. Link Here
8. If you’re going to kill someone or seriously injure them please go talk to the owner of the character about it
9. You can have all the drama and side plots you want but do not let them take away from the main plot. Your romance is not more important than an evil creature running trying to kill everyone.
10. Coding wise, I do not seek out the prettiest post. I often reply on my phone and thus constant coding is hard for me. If you want to code it up go for it. But please do not use bright colours or light greys for font with tiny sizes. Coding should not make it difficult to read no matter the screen size.
11. I know it can be an unpopular opinion but this RP should be written in third person not first. It is very disorienting to go from reading a post in first person to reading one in third. It just makes things clearer if everyone is writing in third, so we know about the characters.

Characters wise you can have as many as you want, use your own form, and so on. Rogues and Loners would not have any blessings though, so please keep this in mind.
I will never accept “Will RP out” or “It’s a secret” type descriptions for anything in a character form.

Territory and Landmarks

Postby Dracowolf » Fri Aug 28, 2020 12:00 pm

Landmarks and Territory

The Fog Lands
The general name for the area, known for thick fog that appears in the early hours and as night approaches. It is thickest near the Standing Stones. Cats going for the ritual of the spirits or to see the Star Pillar are told to arrive before the fog sets in, and wait until it disappears before leaving as the thicker the fog the harder to tell what dark creatures lurk in it.

Highlands
Rolling hills of tall grass with very few trees that overlooks rivers and lakes. This territory is divided between the two remaining clans. It’s believed that it once belonged to the berserking clan. The tall grass is a fantastic hunting ground for both clans and has the most close calls at the edge of their territory. This has never been a problem before though as both clans were friendly with each other.

Hollow Ruins
Ruined stone walls and rooms of a long destroyed temple litter the area, this is the main camp and home of HallowClan.

Standing Stones
Statues of the spirits sit in a circle at the standing stones, all kept in relatively good condition except the one of the saber who has cracked and broken over time, it’s believed that this is why the Saber Spirit rarely blesses anyone. Legends say that the Saber Spirit blessed an entire generation twice creating a berserking clan that the other clans had to stand against. The berserking clan was mostly wiped out, the kits were divided between the victors to take care of. As punishment to the Saber Spirit, the other spirits damaged the statue so that it would be far harder for the Saber Spirit to bless anyone.

In the center of the Standing Stones is the Star Pillar, leaders will sleep near the pillar when they need to speak to StarClan.

Silent Lake
A large lake that is shared by Mossclan and Hollowclan, the largest source of freshwater in all of the territories. Most territories have small rivers where they get most of their fresh water from but for Hollowclan the only place to fish is their side of Silent Lake.

Spirits and Blessings

Postby Dracowolf » Fri Aug 28, 2020 12:00 pm

Spirits and Blessings

Cats of the Tiger - Common
Cats of the Tiger will find themselves attuned to fire. These cats may find their first blessing will give them the ability to toss a fireball from their tail but they can only do it three times a day, tail throwers are marked by a black tail tip. Others may find that they can light their back on fire to defend themselves, it's said after the first time the fur along their spine becomes singed. Lighting their back only lasts for a few seconds otherwise they may hurt themselves. Others will find they can light their claws on fire for a few seconds.

The second blessing is known as Fire Spirit, in these cases it appears like a flaming tiger appears around the cat, roaring loudly. This powerful spirit has been known to cause forest fires so tends to only appear in dire situations. They are powerful, thought here is a little bit of space between the spirit and the cat that is vulnerable if a cat can dodge the flaming claws of the spirit to get close.

First Blessing: Fireball, Fire Shield, Flame Strike (Claws)
Second Blessing: Fire Spirit

Cats of the Cheetah. (Earth) - Common
Cats of the Cheetah are known to be more intune with the Earth itself. The first blessing comes in one of three forms, Stone Shot, Speed, or Spike Shield.

Speed is a burst of, well, speed. It allows them to have a impressive sprint as if the earth itself is launching them forward.

Spike Shield calls up small pebbles from the ground that reform into stone spikes along the cat’s back, it is temporary but provides protection while up, only able to maintain it for a few minutes and most cats find it is hard to move when stone spikes are up. It does take a while for the spikes to form.

Stone shot allows the cats to throw small rocks about the size of their paw with impressive accuracy.

The second blessing is called Stone Body by most cats, healers and leaders refer to it as Gargoyle.

Unlike most powers, Gargoyle is always active for these cats in some way. Their fur becomes thick and hard to strike through though not impossible. They find themselves no longer needing to sleep, instead as they sit still they become stone, still aware of the world around them and able to break free at any moment if they’re not healing. Once stone it is said they are impossible to move unless they want to, though cats with tremendous strength have been known to do it. When gravely injured a gargoyle cat is forced to turn to stone, the worse the injury the faster the change. While in the stone form they will heal back to full strength but cannot move until the healing is complete. The largest drawback of the power is that gargoyle cats cannot swim, they sink in water and while sinking will turn to stone. They can survive while being stone but cannot move until someone else finds a way to get them out of the water.

First Blessing: Stone Shot, Spike Shield, Speed
Second Blessing: Stone Body (Gargoyle)

Cats of the Leopard (Wind or Ice) - Common/Uncommon
The only types of cats who are split into two complete groups but come from what is considered as the same blessing. Unlike other blessings, there are two leopards, the clouded and snow leopard, who give blessings.

Cats of the Clouded Leopard do not have different initial blessings; they all get wings and with them the ability to fly. What can happen is that while the most common is bird wings occasionally a cat will find themselves with leather bat like wings. Most cats consider this a bad omen, though it is just superstition. Still, a cat with leather wings has never been promoted past warrior just in case, but they tend to be extremely talented fighters.

Cats who are visited by the Snow Leopard will have one of many powers form. They may find their fur can harden into ice spikes. Some can find they can shoot a ice spike from their tail (Ice Shot), others will find they can harden their claws with ice protection. They will typically find their tails are fluffier and their fur thicker.

The second blessing the Clouded Leopard is known as Storm Call, cats can call down a powerful storm to their area. This will include powerful winds that can make movement hard for any cats downwind of the cat who summoned the storm.

Cats who receive a second blessing from the Snow Leopard will find themselves radiating cold, often denmates won’t want to sleep too close to them. Even when they walk a trail of frost follows them, though it is quick and harmless to the plants it touches. During a fight the cats with Frost Step may summon walls of ice under their paws.

First Blessing (Snow): Ice Claw, Ice Shot, Ice Spikes
First Blessing (Clouded): Wings
Second Blessing (Snow): Frost Step
Second Blessing (Clouded): Storm Call

Cats of the Lion - Uncommon
Cats of the Lion will find themselves attuned to lightning. The first blessing for these cats manifests much like that of fire, with them gaining one of three abilities. They will either be able to call a lightning strike to their tail, called Lightning rod, this attack can only happen really once a day and doesn’t work well around trees but creates a small area of effect around the cat to defend them. The second is static shield, while running a cat will build up a electric charge that will dance along their fur and grant them protection from a attack by shocking their opponent. The third ability that can appear is lightning claw, where their claws become charged with electricity and can stun opponents.

A cat blessed by the Lion will often find that the fur along their back will not stay down no matter how much they groom it, the fur is alive with static, very few will find themselves instead with a slight mane.

The second blessing is much like that of fire, The Lightning Spirit. In this case rather than a tiger a large lion made of lightning will appear around the cat and will increase their strength and fight for them. It is hard to control the attacks in dense forests as the lightning will bounce to the trees. It is also not recommended for them to be near lakes or rivers as the lightning will dance across the water shocking everything touching the surface including the cat themselves.

First Blessing: Lightning Rod, Static Shield, Lightning Claw
Second Blessing: Lightning Spirit

Cats of the Jaguar (Water) - Rare
Cats of the Jaguar find themselves with slight webbing on their paws, though it’s barely noticeable. The first blessing comes in one of two forms: Water Slow, Water Shot, or Water Sense.

Water Slow creates a ball of water either on the ground or directly floating in front of the cat, anything that steps in or is caught in the ball is slowed. It only lasts for a few seconds and can only happen twice per day.

Water Sense allows any cat who steps into the water to sense anything living touching the same body of water.

The second blessing of the Jaguar is Flood, the cat is able to summon a wave of water to flood the area around them, of course it will hit everyone in the area be they friend or foe.

First Blessing: Water Slow, Water Sense
Second Blessing: Flood

Cats of the Panther (Shadow) - Rare
Cats of the Panther are known to stick together but not with each other, some believe that they’re more loyal to their own kind not their clan. The first blessing of the panther comes in one of two forms: Shade Walk or Shade Thorns.

Shade Walk allows the cats to disappear completely in the shadows and move around undetected. When confronted with a bright light it will stun those who are shade walking.

Shade Thorns create protective dark vines around the cat that are covered in thorns. It is temporary and overuse can make it near impossible for the cat to move.

The second blessing is Shadow Fight. The cat is able to summon their own shadow or their opponent’s shadow to fight for them. Only one shadow can be summoned at a time. Cats with Shadow Fight have been known to use their shadow to hunt to help. Bright lights will dispell the shadow completely for an hour.

First Blessing: Shade Thorns, Shade Walk
Second Blessing: Shadow Fight

Cats of the Lynx (Spirit/Light) - Rare
It’s said that Cats of the Lynx are destined to be healers for being close to Star Clan. This isn’t always true, in fact some famous leaders of the past like Brightstar and Thornstar were known to be of the Lynx. No matter the cat, anyone blessed of the Lynx will share dreams with StarClan. They are known to have a spirit guide, a former Cat of the Lynx who will appear as a random animal to them that no one else can see, guiding them to food, water, or herbs. Over time the spirit will take shape to a former cat of the lynx and speak more freely with them.

The second blessing for cats of the lynx is Spirit Call, in extremely hard times they can call down two warriors from StarClan to aid them. The cats will gain temporary physical form to help the clan. These warriors are always from years ago, never a recent death. Meaning that no one will ever see a cat they knew appear.

First Blessing: Spirit Guide
Second Blessing: Spirit Call

Cats of the Saber - Extremely Rare
The most rare of blessings it can sometimes be considered a curse to get the blessing of the saber twice.

The first blessing of cats blessed by the Sabers come in several forms, they may find themselves suddenly growing much larger than their clanmates, often doubling in size within a few moons, or they may find themselves with powerful, long fangs or claws. Due to the changes being physical, apprentices may find it is difficult to get used to, often becoming clumsy or having trouble speaking for the first week.

The second blessing is extremely rare, and is considered to be a curse. Cats with two blessings from the Sabre find their size increased more, but also find themselves capable of entering a berserker rage, sometimes also called their dire form as their fur will become stiff and hard for others to bite through and they will temporarily increase in size. A berserking Sabre blessed cat cannot tell friend from foe in the heat of battle.

First Blessing: Fangs, Claws or Size
Second Blessing: Dire Form/Berserker

Silverstar - Static Shield/Lightning Spirit
Clan Leader - Tags: Open

Silverstar woke with the sunrise that trickled through the ancient stone walls of the camp. He stretched as he got up, looking around the den he'd come to call home. He really hadn't been leader for long, it was still so odd to not be in the warrior den and instead be alone. He padded out to a ledge that overlooked the rest of the clan, sitting down to watch as others awoke below him.

Tigerstorm - Size/Dire Form Shadowstep - Shade Step/Ice Claw
Medicine cat Apprentice - Warrior - Tags: Open

Tigerstorm was laying outside of the healer's den, mostly because when he was inside of it he took up most of the space, he could work inside of it for the most part but he felt like he was too large to stay in there long term. He had found a spot not far from it that was mostly covered for the times when in rained and his thick fur protected him from the cold well enough that it didn't seem to bother him too much. He wasn't alone though, Shadowstep had always come to sleep beside him, using his size as protection against the wind, the smaller cat was able to sleep comfortably beside the larger one and felt better about not leaving him alone.

Shadowstep awoke shortly after Tigerstorm moved, blinking away the sleep as she looked around before rising to her paws. She sat down to groom herself, as Tigerstorm just looked around camp, he wouldn't move until he had to, which would hopefully be after the others were awake and off on their duties for the day. Easier to not step on anyone's tail if there were fewer cats around after all.

Jaggedfang - Spirit Guide/Flame Strike
Warrior - Tags: Open

Jaggedfang left the warrior's den just before sunrise, before most cats would be up, except for the night patrols who would be making their way inside soon. He made his way to the main entrance of the camp, peering out from the pushes that had grown around stone ruins to provide protection. He glanced back at the camp thinking that it would be good to go hunting. The sun was steadily arising and he cold see other cats were waking up. He also saw the brief flash of light that was his own spirit guide, rushing out to the forest. Likely to hunt ahead of him, which meant he may have luck finding prey before everyone fully awoke. He went out of camp to follow the light, making his way towards some dense trees which was the best hunting area near the camp.

Talonstrike - Rock Shot/Gargoyle
Warrior - Tags: Open

Talonstrike was outside of camp, his entire body appearing like stone becoming part of the crumbling walls around him as he sat an watched for danger. He had been out the entire night like that, it was part of the powers he had been given, the ability to watch the clan through the night and his body treated it like sleep.

Hawkpaw - Feathered Wings
Apprentice - Tags: Open

Hawkpaw tried his hardest to ignore the rising the sun that was starting to filter into the apprentice den. He would much rather sleep for longer than get up and do things. Doing things is the worst after all.

Scarletbark awoke to the melodic birdsong of her spirit guide. The little yellow warbler hopped around the healer’s den, calling for her to rise from her mossy nest. Scarletbark shook off the last remnants of a dreamless sleep. Another night with no message from StarClan. Why had they chosen not to contact her for so long? Worry clouded her pale green eyes, like the fog that obscured her vision of the ancestors. Perhaps they were displeased with her. She had never been particularly close to the stars, but after she had failed to save Nightstar she could not look up at the sky without shame. At least the spirits were not completely silent. Her guide still sang to her as it flitted about. Padding after her feathered friend, the medicine cat arrived at the stores of herbs. That reminded her-- she would need to gather more comfrey root and cobwebs. Especially with the recent tensions with MossClan, they would need these for the injuries that would no doubt occur. This time, she would be prepared. Once the warriors had gone and the camp had cleared, Scarletbark would find her apprentice and discuss the day’s plans.

As soon as a strip of morning sunlight touched her eyelids, Salmonpaw sprung to her feet. A bright new day dawned. What new tricks would her mentor show her today? Her gray fur fluffing up in excitement, as well as a little static, the apprentice headed for the exit. She rolled her eyes as she spotted Hawkpaw’s still-sleeping form. Lazy lump of fur. Though the den had plenty of space with only two apprentices in it, Salmonpaw made it a point to “accidentally” trod on Hawkpaw’s tail on her way out. Maybe that would get him out of his nest. Searching the camp for her mentor, she found Silverstar looking out from a high ledge. Her amber eyes shone with pride to see her mentor up there, as the leader of the clan. Staying by the apprentice den, she waited for Silverstar to finish whatever important leader duties he had. Salmonpaw gave her unruly ginger ruff a grooming, though she knew it would stand up again moments later.

Foxtail | Wings/Claws | 21 moons | Crush: Shadowstep | Currently: Sleepy | Tags: Shadowstep - Tigerstorm

Foxtail awoke from the warrior's den and stepped outside, stretching his paws out as his wings extended out to the sides for a few moments before standing upright and making a low purr of contentment to himself. Shortly after his morning stretch to wake up, he spots that Shadowstep is awake and decides to walk over to the two. "Good morning you two, how'd you sleep last night? " He makes another light purr before extending a wing and grooms it.
