Spirits and Blessings
Cats of the Tiger - CommonCats of the Tiger will find themselves attuned to fire. These cats may find their first blessing will give them the ability to toss a fireball from their tail but they can only do it three times a day, tail throwers are marked by a black tail tip. Others may find that they can light their back on fire to defend themselves, it's said after the first time the fur along their spine becomes singed. Lighting their back only lasts for a few seconds otherwise they may hurt themselves. Others will find they can light their claws on fire for a few seconds.
The second blessing is known as Fire Spirit, in these cases it appears like a flaming tiger appears around the cat, roaring loudly. This powerful spirit has been known to cause forest fires so tends to only appear in dire situations. They are powerful, thought here is a little bit of space between the spirit and the cat that is vulnerable if a cat can dodge the flaming claws of the spirit to get close.
First Blessing: Fireball, Fire Shield, Flame Strike (Claws)
Second Blessing: Fire Spirit
Cats of the Cheetah. (Earth) - CommonCats of the Cheetah are known to be more intune with the Earth itself. The first blessing comes in one of three forms, Stone Shot, Speed, or Spike Shield.
Speed is a burst of, well, speed. It allows them to have a impressive sprint as if the earth itself is launching them forward.
Spike Shield calls up small pebbles from the ground that reform into stone spikes along the cat’s back, it is temporary but provides protection while up, only able to maintain it for a few minutes and most cats find it is hard to move when stone spikes are up. It does take a while for the spikes to form.
Stone shot allows the cats to throw small rocks about the size of their paw with impressive accuracy.
The second blessing is called Stone Body by most cats, healers and leaders refer to it as Gargoyle.
Unlike most powers, Gargoyle is always active for these cats in some way. Their fur becomes thick and hard to strike through though not impossible. They find themselves no longer needing to sleep, instead as they sit still they become stone, still aware of the world around them and able to break free at any moment if they’re not healing. Once stone it is said they are impossible to move unless they want to, though cats with tremendous strength have been known to do it. When gravely injured a gargoyle cat is forced to turn to stone, the worse the injury the faster the change. While in the stone form they will heal back to full strength but cannot move until the healing is complete. The largest drawback of the power is that gargoyle cats cannot swim, they sink in water and while sinking will turn to stone. They can survive while being stone but cannot move until someone else finds a way to get them out of the water.
First Blessing: Stone Shot, Spike Shield, Speed
Second Blessing: Stone Body (Gargoyle)
Cats of the Leopard (Wind or Ice) - Common/UncommonThe only types of cats who are split into two complete groups but come from what is considered as the same blessing. Unlike other blessings, there are two leopards, the clouded and snow leopard, who give blessings.
Cats of the Clouded Leopard do not have different initial blessings; they all get wings and with them the ability to fly. What can happen is that while the most common is bird wings occasionally a cat will find themselves with leather bat like wings. Most cats consider this a bad omen, though it is just superstition. Still, a cat with leather wings has never been promoted past warrior just in case, but they tend to be extremely talented fighters.
Cats who are visited by the Snow Leopard will have one of many powers form. They may find their fur can harden into ice spikes. Some can find they can shoot a ice spike from their tail (Ice Shot), others will find they can harden their claws with ice protection. They will typically find their tails are fluffier and their fur thicker.
The second blessing the Clouded Leopard is known as Storm Call, cats can call down a powerful storm to their area. This will include powerful winds that can make movement hard for any cats downwind of the cat who summoned the storm.
Cats who receive a second blessing from the Snow Leopard will find themselves radiating cold, often denmates won’t want to sleep too close to them. Even when they walk a trail of frost follows them, though it is quick and harmless to the plants it touches. During a fight the cats with Frost Step may summon walls of ice under their paws.
First Blessing (Snow): Ice Claw, Ice Shot, Ice Spikes
First Blessing (Clouded): Wings
Second Blessing (Snow): Frost Step
Second Blessing (Clouded): Storm Call
Cats of the Lion - UncommonCats of the Lion will find themselves attuned to lightning. The first blessing for these cats manifests much like that of fire, with them gaining one of three abilities. They will either be able to call a lightning strike to their tail, called Lightning rod, this attack can only happen really once a day and doesn’t work well around trees but creates a small area of effect around the cat to defend them. The second is static shield, while running a cat will build up a electric charge that will dance along their fur and grant them protection from a attack by shocking their opponent. The third ability that can appear is lightning claw, where their claws become charged with electricity and can stun opponents.
A cat blessed by the Lion will often find that the fur along their back will not stay down no matter how much they groom it, the fur is alive with static, very few will find themselves instead with a slight mane.
The second blessing is much like that of fire, The Lightning Spirit. In this case rather than a tiger a large lion made of lightning will appear around the cat and will increase their strength and fight for them. It is hard to control the attacks in dense forests as the lightning will bounce to the trees. It is also not recommended for them to be near lakes or rivers as the lightning will dance across the water shocking everything touching the surface including the cat themselves.
First Blessing: Lightning Rod, Static Shield, Lightning Claw
Second Blessing: Lightning Spirit
Cats of the Jaguar (Water) - RareCats of the Jaguar find themselves with slight webbing on their paws, though it’s barely noticeable. The first blessing comes in one of two forms: Water Slow, Water Shot, or Water Sense.
Water Slow creates a ball of water either on the ground or directly floating in front of the cat, anything that steps in or is caught in the ball is slowed. It only lasts for a few seconds and can only happen twice per day.
Water Sense allows any cat who steps into the water to sense anything living touching the same body of water.
The second blessing of the Jaguar is Flood, the cat is able to summon a wave of water to flood the area around them, of course it will hit everyone in the area be they friend or foe.
First Blessing: Water Slow, Water Sense
Second Blessing: Flood
Cats of the Panther (Shadow) - RareCats of the Panther are known to stick together but not with each other, some believe that they’re more loyal to their own kind not their clan. The first blessing of the panther comes in one of two forms: Shade Walk or Shade Thorns.
Shade Walk allows the cats to disappear completely in the shadows and move around undetected. When confronted with a bright light it will stun those who are shade walking.
Shade Thorns create protective dark vines around the cat that are covered in thorns. It is temporary and overuse can make it near impossible for the cat to move.
The second blessing is Shadow Fight. The cat is able to summon their own shadow or their opponent’s shadow to fight for them. Only one shadow can be summoned at a time. Cats with Shadow Fight have been known to use their shadow to hunt to help. Bright lights will dispell the shadow completely for an hour.
First Blessing: Shade Thorns, Shade Walk
Second Blessing: Shadow Fight
Cats of the Lynx (Spirit/Light) - RareIt’s said that Cats of the Lynx are destined to be healers for being close to Star Clan. This isn’t always true, in fact some famous leaders of the past like Brightstar and Thornstar were known to be of the Lynx. No matter the cat, anyone blessed of the Lynx will share dreams with StarClan. They are known to have a spirit guide, a former Cat of the Lynx who will appear as a random animal to them that no one else can see, guiding them to food, water, or herbs. Over time the spirit will take shape to a former cat of the lynx and speak more freely with them.
The second blessing for cats of the lynx is Spirit Call, in extremely hard times they can call down two warriors from StarClan to aid them. The cats will gain temporary physical form to help the clan. These warriors are always from years ago, never a recent death. Meaning that no one will ever see a cat they knew appear.
First Blessing: Spirit Guide
Second Blessing: Spirit Call
Cats of the Saber - Extremely RareThe most rare of blessings it can sometimes be considered a curse to get the blessing of the saber twice.
The first blessing of cats blessed by the Sabers come in several forms, they may find themselves suddenly growing much larger than their clanmates, often doubling in size within a few moons, or they may find themselves with powerful, long fangs or claws. Due to the changes being physical, apprentices may find it is difficult to get used to, often becoming clumsy or having trouble speaking for the first week.
The second blessing is extremely rare, and is considered to be a curse. Cats with two blessings from the Sabre find their size increased more, but also find themselves capable of entering a berserker rage, sometimes also called their dire form as their fur will become stiff and hard for others to bite through and they will temporarily increase in size. A berserking Sabre blessed cat cannot tell friend from foe in the heat of battle.
First Blessing: Fangs, Claws or Size
Second Blessing: Dire Form/Berserker
