Long ago, Sunclan was divided into four clans, separated by their beliefs
    and personalities.
Cats died everyday in the vicious battles over borders
and prey. Each clan thought they had claim to the land and prey which
lead to blood being spilled. The Gods looked down upon the clans with
great disappointment. The clans were supposed to live in peace and thrive
on the land but instead were tearing each other apart. The Gods did nothing
about the battles until an innocent kit was mercilessly killed in one them. Ra,
god of the sun, rose and told the clans that this must stop. They were to
become one clan underneath Ra and the other gods to create peace for all.

Everything went well for a while, the battles lessened but hunger grew
among the clan. Cats were starving and the clan was disorganized until a
she-cat of great beauty, who went by the name of Isis, came to the lands,
sent by the gods above. She saw how the clan was suffering and chose to help
them under the condition that they upheld ancient, holy traditions on behalf
of the gods. She established the ranks and found each cat a place in the
clan. Without her, the clan would have been destroyed.
    And as order was developed,
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Isis chose a leader in her stead whose name was long forgotten in the old ages and
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxlater revealed herself to be a Goddess. And so that order would always be maintained
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxand that no one will gain power who does not deserve it, in name of their savior, they
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxcreated the Trial of Longknives to compete for Isis's Chosen Priestess' hand and become
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxthe new Pharaoh. And with the opportunity to rise to power, come the many conflicts to
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxcome. There have been whispers and stirrings around the clan that there is a traitor
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxamong them who worships Seth ("Set"), god of evil and chaos, and has something in particular
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxplanned for the Trial of Longknives...and for those who wish to compete within it...

Warning! This Roleplay is lengthy in terms of reading!

โ˜ฅ Follow all Site Rules please.
โ˜ฅ Please post all Characters & OOC discussions on the Discussion Thread.
โ˜ฅ Read the majority of what I write please! Everything I write is so that you will understand how everything in the clan works. If you don't read everything, then it will be very obvious that your characters are out of place.
โ˜ฅ There is no character limit, but please be aware of how many you can write a decent amount for. The minimum requirement for a Semi-literate role-play is a decent sized paragraphs with no grammatical errors.
โ˜ฅ You many only have up to 1 Royal, 1 High Rank, 2 Semi-High Ranks, and as many commoners as you'd like.
โ˜ฅ Each post you reply to must be at least a decent paragraph. When I say this, I mean for each cat that you have, you must write a good amount for. A decent paragraph contains at least 5+ sentences.
โ˜ฅ LGBTQ+ couples are accepted~ but IC in the roleplay, the society is mutually against it due to assigned mates of the opposite sex. You are more than free to choose any sexuality for your cats! All I'm saying is that you might want to keep in mind how difficult it might be for your characters in the roleplay ^.^
โ˜ฅ Please be considerate name wise. Don't have the same Prefixes as another person/character because it tends to be very confusing when trying to communicate with two people who have similar names Ex) First there's "Poppyfrost" and then someone new joins the RP and has a character named "Poppyflower" - Very confusing.
โ˜ฅ For those who have High Ranks such as Royalty, High Ranks, & Semi-High Ranks, you are all expected to be highly active in the roleplay. If you won't be active for awhile, let me know. If you haven't replied/posted within five days I'll PM you. If you don't reply to that in two-three days I will remove your characters and the RP will move on without you.
โ˜ฅ To those who have Commoners or Outsider ranks, while there is less pressure for you to be as attentive, you too are expected to reply within at least a week. The same process will come for you if you have not replied within that time; If you haven't replied/posted within five days I'll PM you. If you don't reply to that in two-three days I will remove your characters and the RP will move on without you.
โ˜ฅ If you have any questions, be sure to contact me on the Discussion Thread or Pm me.

โš” Defend your clan with your life; Give thanks to the gods for any prey you catch; Do not hunt outside of your clan's territory as it may contain hidden dangers.
โžณYou may have friendships with outsiders, but your loyalty must remain to your clan, as you may meet them in battle someday. If friendships become distracting from your duties, you are to sever the contact or face the consequences of possibly being demoted or worse.
โš” The word of the Pharaoh is the Warrior Code.
โš” The High Priest, Priestesses and Squires are forbidden to have mates & kits as they may distract them from their duties. The Priestesses answer only to the High Priest and Pharaoh.
โžณIf a Priestess has a message from the gods, they are to alert the High Priest and he will deliver the information to the Pharaoh's ears as it is improper for a Priestess to speak to directly to the Pharaoh.
โš” Common Traditional Society Rules Include:
โžณRoyalty, Elders, Queens & kits must be fed before the rest of the clan. The sick or injured may eat while the Royals eat. Apprentices must have special permission to eat before they have hunted for the Elders.
โžณNone have the right to deny the orders of their Pharaoh. The Pharaoh's word is law, and therefore any who break his word will be punished accordingly.
โžณ Commoners are not allowed to directly speak to the Royals unless given permission. A guard must always be present with a Royal if they are outside the clan camp.
โžณThe Heir and his mate are allowed to come in contact with Commoners and Outsiders, but only if accompanied by at least one guard.
โžณ None are allowed to meet a Royal's gaze that is below their station; it is considered disrespectful.

โš” The Heir, winner of the Trial of Longknives, will become the new Pharaoh when the current Pharaoh dies, retires from old age, or is exiled.
โžณIn the event there isn't an heir, the Royal Adviser will take over until the Trial of Longknives is complete and the heir is chosen. When the heir ascends on their new throne as the new Pharaoh, they will appoint a new or keep the old Royal Adviser. The Royal Adviser must be announced before moon-high.
โš” Boundaries must be checked daily. Challenge any trespassing cats. None can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is an Outsider. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
โš” The High Priest will assign most cats their mates once they're at least twenty three moons.
It is forbidden to cheat on your mate.
โžณIf there is a dispute between assigned mates, the only way to change mates honorably is through a trial by combat- Victor inherits the other's mate by choice or defends their own. Dishonor is showered upon the looser and is treated as an apprentice rank for a moon before returning to their duties and being reassigned once more, if needed. Note that both genders can challenge each other.
โžณIf your mate is killed, you will be assigned a new one within your age group; unless you are an Elder. Mates outside the clan are forbidden.
โš” Commoners or Outsiders are not allowed direct contact with the Pharaoh and his mate unless they're given special permission to grace them with their presence. The Pharaoh and his mate are not allowed to be around commoners initially unless it is an important or proper matter.
โžณIt is the duty of the Pharaoh to look after his people. The people trust in their ruler for guidance and protection. This is to be honored with the utmost respect.
โš” A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
โš” Newly appointed Guards and Fighters will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their honorary name.

โš” Isis's Concordant must be fulfilled every generation. (The Trial of Longknives)

The leader of the clan, always male, gains nine lives from the gods once he rises to power. He makes all of the major decisions regarding the clan, and is the one who promotes cats [i.e - kits into apprentices, apprentices into their full rank, etc.] It is his prime duty to look after the needs of his people, of which he is very busy with information from the Royal Advisor, who collects the information of how much food they have, amount of water in the small spring, if there are any dangers outside/inside the clan territory, etc. He also occasionally communicates with the gods, but itโ€™s usually only when the gods have an urgent message.

          โ–ท ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐๐ก๐š๐ซ๐š๐จ๐กโœ๐ฌ ๐Œ๐š๐ญ๐ž [โ™€]
The assigned mate of the Pharaoh from the Trial of Longknives. She helps out the Pharaoh in making decisions, and occasionally handles diplomatic situations. When the Pharaoh is busy, she is the one who deals with meeting with commoners when they have complaints or if there is an urgent problem.
            โ–บ ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘  ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐ผ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘
The priestess of Isis is essentially "Isis's Chosen." The only cat who has rank to officially call herself this position is the Pharaoh's mate. More info. w/ the other Priestess Ranks.

The cat who communicates with the gods every full moon, and will receive prophecies or omens whenever applicable. They are also in charge of assigning mates and is the left ear of the Pharaoh. He delivers messages from the gods when necessary and is the second most trusted cat in the clan by the Pharaoh. The High Priest is the spiritual leader of the clan and is followed by the priestesses- who provide information about the gods they represent.

            โ–บ High Priest's Apprentice [โ™‚]
The apprentice of the High Priest. They also communicate with the gods every full moon, but generally do not receive prophecies or omens, nor do they help assign mates. Someday, when the current High Priest either dies, retires, or is exiled, they will become the official teller and take their place. They are considered to be a higher rank than Priestesses, yet are not authorized to order them around.

          โ–ท ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฌ [โ™€]
These female cats are the spiritual representatives of an ancient calling of the six main gods that aided in the birth of Sunclan. Each Priestess is chosen at random by the god they represent and are announced by the High Priest once they come of age to be chosen- which is usually around the time of when they are ready to be assigned a mate. It doesn't matter what initial rank they were born from; if the god chooses them, then they must comply with their wishes. If they do not, they are usually disgraced and banished from the clan for disrespecting the gods' will. The reason why this is such a high offense to reject the gods is because the gods are what control the goodwill of the clan's wellbeing. To reject the gods is to say that you wish for the clan to descend into peril. Priestesses can be chosen within the time of assigned mates or of apprenticeship. Around that time, The High Priest will teach the Priestesses their duties and what they must know in order to serve the gods properly. Once the Priestesses are trained, they will occasionally receive an apprentice themselves. The duties of the Priestess include preaching to the public or delivering spiritual advice to those who need it, or announcing messages from the High Priest when he is busy. Sorting herbs and healing the wounded are their main job, and if they receive dreams from the gods, they they are to report to the High Priest, who will then decide if it's important enough to share with the Pharaoh.

            โ–บ ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘  ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐ผ๐‘ ๐‘–๐‘
The priestess of Isis is essentially "Isis's Chosen." Th only cat who has rank to officially call herself this position is the Pharaoh's mate. Essentially, the queen herself is linked spiritually with the will of Isis and in dark ages, Isis can choose to directly commune with the she-cat to aid the clan. Ancient traditions dictate that the queen must leave an offering for Isis in the temple every new moon to keep the darkness of the night from swallowing up the light of Sunclan.
            โ–บ ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ÿ๐‘–๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘ก๐‘’๐‘ ๐‘  ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐‘…๐‘Ž
Occasionally communicates with Ra himself every full moon. Most of the time is given visions of future events or possible outcomes of certain things going on within the clan. This position is mainly symbolism of receiving possible fragments of the future of Sunclan. Due to Ra being the king of the gods, the priestess is charged with praying at a constant rate to interpret his will and to uphold the clan's faith within him. She is known as the Priestess of "devotion".
Occasionally communicates with Anubis himself every full moon; tends to run into his minions more than anything to recieve news. Sometimes is given visions of certain people that have the potential to cause disruption in the clan. Essentially, this position is concerning about dark threats that linger in places Sunclan has yet to cross paths with.
Occasionally communicates with Horus himself every full moon. Mainly is spoken to by one of his bird forms for vital information about spiritual ceremonies coming up and what the gods expect of them. Is rarely given visions, but receives intellect of what is going on within and out of the clan with Horus's blessing. This position is concerning itself with the people of Sunclan- the troubles they are personally going through effect everyone. The Priestess of Horus is most famous for being the "Priestess of kindness" because her main duty is to translate the will of the people.
Occasionally communicates with Osiris himself, yet communicates with the dead more than anything. Is given the knowledge and wisdom of the passed on cats from previous ancestors. Is given dreams rather than visions; all of which are past happenings in the clan's history. This is considered to be the most difficult position of the priestesses; for the duties of this position demand knowledge of the afterlife and judgement upon those who are guilty of terrible crimes. The priestess of Osiris ultimately commune with horrifying visions of the dead to delve into the past of Sunclan for valuable information. Due to their knowledge, they are instantly involved in judicial matters.
Occasionally communicates with Sekhmet herself, but often in her stead, the spirit of a lion often greets the priestess and delivers whatever news or requests she might have to inquire to the goddess. Sekhmet dominates over many of the gods; in particular the priestesses. Thus the priestess of this rank is usually opt to be the more dominant figure among them aside from the High Priest himself. Fire plagues, drought, healing, and war is Sekhmet's call. Thus, she is rarely seen by the priestess, regardless of the intimate connection she has with her. The priestess's duty is to spiritually guide the clan in times of war; often draw knowledge/strategy/strength from Sekhmet and aid the Captain of the Guard in making difficult decisions. She is the priestess most saught out for during dark times; these usually consist of droughts, famine, and scarce prey.

The children of the Pharaoh are highly respected due to their father and mother's rank, yet that doesn't change their rank as anything more than mere high bloods. These children take up naturally high ranks, and have the right to be around their parents almost any time they wish as their birthright. However, being the child of the Pharaoh will not increase their chances of becoming the next pharaoh as they must compete for the crown later in life if the Pharaoh will be too old to rule within their lifetime. If they are semi-elders by that time, their children will compete instead. This is a Stackable rank- meaning they are indeed the Pharaoh's child, but also have a primary role in the court.
(i.g. Rank of your cat = Pharaoh's child, Captain of the Guard)

            โ–บ The Pharaoh's Squire [โ™‚]
Is the loyal servant of the Pharaoh, is usually around the Pharaoh's age and provides extra protection over the Pharaoh's safety as a personal friend. Must be the same gender as the Pharaoh (which is always male), and provides personal councilship, making sure that the Pharaoh is well fed, and has and tools or materials he may require. He also accompanies him into battle as well.

          โ–ท ๐‘๐จ๐ฒ๐š๐ฅ ๐€๐๐ฏ๐ข๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ [โ™‚ / โ™€]
The equivalent of a deputy, they organize the patrols, meet with concerned commoners, as well as relay messages, concerns, and news to the Pharaoh himself. Not only that, but the royal adviser gives the monarch advice. If the Pharaoh dies and there is no heir, the Royal Adviser will rise to the rank of Pharaoh until the Trial of Longknives, regardless of their gender. It is their duty to gather all the information necessary for the Pharaoh to hear to keep the clan in order. The Royal Adviser is meant to be the most trusted cat in the clan, and has made a sacred vow to always be loyal to the clan and Pharaoh- a holy vow that is said to be so powerful, that only the High Priest can bestow it. For the vow, is also a curse to those who break it, although no known records portray what happens to these cats. The Adviser also is not allowed to give out classified information such as the Pharaoh's whereabouts and plans for many things due to keeping the safety of the Pharaoh a high priority.

            โ–บ Royal Advisor's Squire [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Is basically an apprentice rank of the Royal Advisor, but does not take over the position if the Royal Advisor is killed, exiled, demoted, or retires. Their duty is to make sure that their den is clean, ,that they are well fed, and that they have any tools or materials they require. They are their trusted servant and even join them if they go to battle. They often take care of minor matters to attend to such as delivering minor messages, sometimes to even the Pharaoh's Mate or the High Priest, etc.

          โ–ท ๐‚๐š๐ฉ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐†๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐[โ™‚ / โ™€]
The Captain of the Guard is meant to be the highest ranking military official aside from the Pharaoh himself and is one of the few high ranks that is gender fluid. The Captain is to watch over the order of the military conditions of the Guards and Fighters. Guards and Fighters are to always report to the Captain of the Guard when they have important information and news. The Captain reports primly to the Royal Adviser, and on occasion, the Pharaoh. The Captain is the example for their troops, and therefore must always be on their guard. They oversee training and such as well.
The Captain of the guard usually takes over the day-to-day patrols, although the Royal Adviser is authorized to take over if they wish. They also can override anything the Captain orders/arranges.

            โ–บ Captain of the Guard's Squire[โ™‚ / โ™€]
Is considered to be the second in command of the Guards and helps with advisory and well being of the Captain. They make sure that their den is clean and that they are well fed, and that they have all the tools or materials that they require for their duties.
They are usually a close friend of the Captain and accompany them into battle. If the Captain is killed, the Squire takes over the Captain's position and promotes a new Squire to take their place.

          โ–ท Guards [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Some of the strongest fighters in the clan, charged with the duty of guarding the royalty, even if their own lives are at stake. They also escort the royalty whenever the Pharaoh or his Mate needs to make announcements or when the priestesses decide to interact with commoners. It is improper for Priestesses to go unescorted by a guard at all times when outside the temple. Guards can be any gender.

            โ–บ Guard's Apprentice [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Is the pupil of six moons+ of age and learns the duties of the security of the clan. They learn how to fight more intensely than Fighters, but also have the similar duties of Fighters to care for the Elders and clean out their dens, along with their mentor's den.

          โ–ท Fighters [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Skilled fighters who defend the clan's camp and territory. These cats are sent out on border patrols and regular hunting patrols.
They are the loyal soldiers in retrospect of the Pharaoh for him to command, and go to battle with guards as well, yet are not the main concerned cats about the security of the clan camp since that is the guard's duty.

            โ–บ Fighter's Apprentice [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Is the pupil of six moons+ of age and learns the duties of the safety of the clan. They learn how to fight, devise in military formations, and are trained in the basic knowledge of a solider. They have the duty to care for the Elders and clean out their dens, along with their mentor's den.

          โ–ท Elders [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Cats retired from their duties, usually due to old age, but occasionally cats retire to become elders due to injuries that prevent them from carrying on their duties. Are very respected by the clan and are treated highly- regardless of the station they originated from.

          โ˜ญ ๏ผด๏ฝˆ๏ฝ… ๏ผฃ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝŽ๏ฝ…๏ฝ’๏ฝ“ โ˜ญ

          โ–ท Builders and Scribes [โ™‚ / โ™€]
The architects and writers of the clan that plan the layout of the clan camp for when there is a battle or help plan where everything goes for feasts, traditions, the god's ceremonies, and also record the history of events of the Pharaoh's decisions and such. They also account for how much treasure the clan has in it's storage, and account for how much food they have. This information is delivered to the Royal Advisor so that he can inform the Pharaoh.

            โ–บ Builder & Scribe's Apprentice [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Is the pupil of six moons+ of age and learns the duties of first a scribe, so to learn how to write and account, then how to calculate buildings and statues and such. They learn how to do anything the Builders/Scribes do and also the basic knowledge of defending one's self. They have the duty to care for the Elders and clean out the Priestesses dens, along with their mentor's den as well to teach discipline.

          โ–ท Queens [โ™€]
The bearers of children and occasionally raiser of orphaned kits. They look after their kits until they are fit to return to their former position/until the kits are apprenticed.

          โ–ท Scouts [โ™‚ / โ™€]
They scout out the territory on a regular basis and inform fighters if they find any dangers. Useful information such as herbal growth is reported to either the High Priest's Squire or the Captain of the Guard. Their duties are to maintain contact with outsiders as diplomats and are often friends with them, depending on the cat. They relay outside happenings and information to the Captain of the Guard, who then reports to the Royal Adviser.

            โ–บ Scout's Apprentice [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Is the pupil of six moons+ of age and learns the duties of a Scout. The training includes severe cardio exercise to be very fast in case of emergency, of which they are usually the ones to scout ahead the terrain before a battle or spy on the enemy's numbers and formations; of which they relay to the Captain of the Guard. They also accompany their mentors often to the outskirts of the clan's territory to communicate with outsiders.

          โ–ท Servant [โ™‚ / โ™€]
A servant is the lowest rank, and essentially cleans up after the clan- and personally spends their entire life below Sunclan cats. To be clear, servants are usually abused socially and sometimes physically due to them being of origins of different places other than Sunclan. They are usually either half-blood Sunclan, or completely originated from outside the clan. Outsiders of the clan are scorned due to their rash behavior and "savagery"- mainly because it reminds Sunclan of their shameful ways that once plagued the four original clans. The primary duties include cleaning out the dens that the apprentices aren't obligated to, grooming the pelts of the Elders, ridding them of flees, running errands for High ranks if they do not have a squire, cleaning out the Priestess's quarters, cleaning the armor of every fighter and guard, and lastly, keeping the temple in pristine cleanliness.

            โ–บ Courtier [โ™€]
A Courtier is a she-cat who is meekly trusted to clean up after the High Bloods and Royals. They are often blamed for thievery, often punished for things they don't commit, but nonetheless, they are the only slaves trusted to be around the Royals as they are too frail to inflict any harm. It is strictly forbidden for them to even raise their eyes above paw-level when they're around anyone but their own "kind"/fellow slaves. A feminine servant that is expected to bathe regularly, and answer any complaint or call those of higher rank than the fae, the she-cat in this service is often treated like the trash they clean up. The only perk of this rank is that they are usually more well-fed than the other servants.

            โ–บ Music Courtier [โ™‚ / โ™€]
This is a slightly less frowned upon slave, but is just as accountable for being more of an object than considered a cat. Some actually attain respect for usually quite talented musicians, but other than their skill, they are often laughed at because these cats commonly turned to instruments because they cannot hunt for themselves or fight for others. These musicians entertain the High Bloods and Royals whenever they are beckoned to, especially at special gatherings or ceremonies/events call them forth. Their usual appearance is just after sunrise (which is when the Royals usually awaken to eat breakfast) and they reemerge later when dusk begins to set in the sky. They play for as long as dinner for the High Bloods and Royals are finished, and continue playing until dinner for all is concluded. It is an exhausting job at times, but it is reasonably easy compared to other ranks. Aside from instruments, they often aid the courtiers in cleaning up around High Bloods (Never the Royals though).

            โ–บ Nurse-maid [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Usually tends the kits of the clan, regardless of their birth-rank. Although never trusted to be alone with them, they clean up after any mess made by them and monitors them on a regular basis- including cleaning up the Queens as well. The number of nursemaids often vary on how many queens/kits there are. If there are none, then the Nurse-maids work the duties of a standard servant. (aka "Common Riph-Raph rank)

            โ–บ Chattel Cat [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Chattel Cats are horribly abused; especially socially and tend to be punished outrageously by High Bloods whenever given the chance to be bashed down upon because of their enemy-based origins. They are often captives of war, or rouges that fought specifically against Sunclan- thus they are treated accordingly. They are forced into any labor required of them; usually the brute-muscle work and horrible torture of working in the blazing sun all day. As they are not trusted, a fighter is posted around each of them at all times, usually varying on size. They are required to wear chains at all times because of their potential threat to the cats of Sunclan.

            โ–บ Common Riph-raph (Standard Slaves) [โ™‚ / โ™€]
The Standard description of a slave we currently have above. They basically do whatever is required of them, except they are not allowed to be around Royals.

Territorial cats, who remain in one place that they claim as their territory. Some were born as rogues, some are exiled from the clan cats. Their willingness to communicate with the clan depends on the cat.

          โ–ท Loners [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Generally friendly, approachable cats who have no specific territory. Some remain in one place but donโ€™t defend it, and some simply wander as they please. These are the cats that Scouts mainly approach.

          โ–ท Kittypets [โ™‚ / โ™€]
Cats who remain in the few twoleg dens around the clan's territory. These cats are shunned by the clan for their pampered, struggle-free lifestyle, despite the fact that their founders were kittypets. Rarely, disgruntled clan cats will run off to become kittypets. Kittypets are highly unlikely to be out in the middle of the desert, so this role is essentially here to let you know that if you're thinking of making one- don't. Legitimately think this through; there's no way a kittypet could survive.

The territory is a vast expanse of rugged earth, with occasional shrubbery and tall, dry grass appear to be wilted yet still clinging to life outside the clan camp. From atop the hill/slight mountain side, it appears to be a never ending ocean of sand dunes and rugged mini-mountains, but as you crest the hill, the Nile expanse can be seen before you and the slight hint of the ocean can be scented on the breeze. It is immensely hot; clouds are rare to be seen in the sky. Near the water's edge, it is important to only approach the shallow ends since Nile crocodiles like to wait under the water for an unsuspecting animal to come drink from the cool waters. Small patches of grass surround the edges of the Nile, along with palm trees and bushes that provide shade. In a slightly dipped area, there is a small ledge where a sandy bank is. on that bank is where Elders and other cats who wish to relax bask on the sunning rocks and drink from the water's edge as they please since the crocs don't normally come up that far. The bank itself, it is a dug out man-made ditch that hasn't been used in a long while, so it is deemed safe. On the outer edge of the bank shrubbery and small trees grow sideways from the hill of earth the dugout bank is; providing privacy around it. A ways away from the Nile and the bank, the surrounding territory appears to look like this. Prey is scarce and the jagged landscape is only open to adept hunters and huntresses who can bare the rough terrain and heights on the cliff sides of the sheer cliff-sides flanked by rushing water carved deep into the earth.

          The camp is based on top of a rounded hill and overlooks the Nile River. The camp is in an old temple of Ra;
most of it underground. Most of it crumpled from the old ages, yet it is very well preserved. The camp entrance looks like this:
xx. As you step into the temple, you'll discover that the main door way is blocked by mounds of sand and debris, but if you near the doorway, you'll notice a slope under the debris. The slope leads to a tunnel entrance only small enough for a small animal such as yourself to fit in. At the end of the tunnel, it opens up to this. Continuing on your way, you'll enter a very large cave area where on your left, the cave walls, are four empty stone shelves where the prey is deposited. Along that wall, A tunnel portrays light coming far from the other side of it's maw. Directly on the other corner of the room is the Elder's den, which is a constructed den woven of reeds, roots, and bamboo. Then on the right side of the large cave, there are two other tunnels. The closest one to you leads to another chamber with stone shelves and slabs on the ground; where the Servants take their residence and the other leads to a very deep and damp chamber. This chamber has very smooth stone under-paw and is obsidian black. There is an alter in the center of the room that stands before an expanse of beautiful water. On the opposite end of the water are four statues with the gods Anubis, Osiris, Ra, and Horus. In the center of the four is Isis; the biggest and most portrayed statue of them all. This is the temple; and it's entrance; a holy place where cats are welcome to swim, pray, and drink from the clean water. On the opposite side of the room, parallel to the cave entrance is a pair of two tunnels and between them is a small dip in the ground that is an open mini cave that could fit about two cats inside. That is the High Priest's Apprentice's quarters. The first of the two tunnels that is farthest from the water leads to the High Priest's private quarters and the second leads to the herb store. The store is a very cramped space, so only one cat at a time can access it.
The tunnel next to the temple is one that leads to a circular room that is used to house the fighters. Just outside the circular room is a deeper tunnel that leads to a more secluded area, which houses the guards' barracks. The arch-way separates the guard's apprentices' den. Diagonally across from the temple lay a brief-sky exposed area with flowing water that connects to the main temple; equip with an old, rickety dock- this is the priestess's den. In the center of the dock is a thoroughly willow-woven den with four nests. Back in the main, big chamber, the tunnel that light is faintly shining from leads to a courtyard surrounded by the ruins. Only four chambers are unblocked from the outside and inside of the camp. Around the outer-rim of the courtyard, there is a hall that leads deeper into the temple. The hall leads to a large, marble-floored throne room equip with an alter for ancient ceremonies. This is where the clan gathers when the Pharaoh calls for a meeting.
The courtyard has a pond in the middle of it, and grass grows healthily all around the courtyard. A few palm trees are in it and flowers bloom around an altar near the pond. Diagonally from the tunnel leading out, the first unblocked chamber leads to the Pharaoh and his Mate's quarters. The chamber is brightly lit and has urns and gold around the room; and in the bottom right corner of the room is an empty, gold coffin, which is used as their nest. The other unblocked chamber next to it, directly to the left of the courtyard, is the Royal Adviser and the Captain of the Guard's shared den.
Across from those rooms are two parallel twin rooms that house on the right, the Nursery, and the left, is the shared Squire's quarters. Along the corner of the courtyard, there is a finely woven den that houses the Scouts. The builders take shelter in a den next to it; along the walls that surround the temple.

Blood heritage is a big deal in Sunclan, as it dictates not only birthrights and inheritances, but it also reflects each family's legacy and social reputation within the clan. To be frank, Sunclan has many families competing for high heritage because of the Trial of Longknives. As the rules dictate, high-heritage-families (usually with royal ties) have the automatic right to compete for the throne. The free spots are open to (cats I will announce to prevent confusion) young cats within the age group of those that are competing; this includes Semi-high ranks and even Commoners. In rare cases, even the occasional Servant could compete if they dared.

            โ–ท ๏ผข๏ฝŒ๏ฝ๏ฝ๏ฝ„ ๏ผข๏ฝ๏ฝŽ๏ฝ„๏ฝ“
So, speaking of "pure blood", it's actually very common for the high-born parents to speak to the High Priest to arrange for certain mate-ships. This is what is known as a "blood bond" or "blood contract" before two high-born families to arrange to preserve their bloodlines and future generations of pure-bred royalty. It also gives both families the advantage to regain the throne for their specific bloodline. The blood-bond contract usually results in two high-born/semi-high ranks arranging a marriage/assigned mate plans. So, thus it is fairly common to be "betrothed" long before the High Priest announces assigned mates.

If a high-born is not already assigned a mate and has not been pre-marked by a "blood bond", then they are essentially free before they are officially taken. If a high-born falls for a low-classed cat, there are no laws that technically prevent them from proposing to them. There are many repercussions that include the tainted-blood reputation in your bloodline if you chose to do this. However, for example, if you were a low-classed tom and were offered a betrothal to a high-classed she-cat, you are essentially expected to have no choice or say in the matter- unless your family representatives (your parents) intervene (no matter your age, they will always represent you until you are no longer single). If you decline, your family can override your decision and you will be engaged to that cat no matter how you feel.

xxxxxThe cats of Sunclan gathered and glanced around uneasily. The Royals perched upon their thrones; their eyes betrayed their solemn sorrow that was reflected around the room. The High Bloods; whomst were the closest to the throne, bristled in disgust as the bloodied rouges were dragged before the dais in thick chains.
xxxxxThe shredded corpse of what was left of the Priestess of Sekhmet still bled out before them; her orange veil soaking up the crimson blood that still gushed from her throat; a dazed gaze of shock still clung to her features. Despite the young she-cat's pompous behavior and sense of dominance over many, no one could've wished the fate that had become of the fae.
xxxxxAll of Sunclan had been gathered to witness the fate of the rouge that curled his lip in defiance, despite the beating he'd taken from in particular, their honored Captain of the Guard, Stormhaze. The young brute had his head bowed in disdain- no doubt blaming himself for the incident. Even the servants had been dragged forth to bear witness- of whom lingered in solemn terror near the back of the throne room. The Pharaoh allowed his gaze to scan the room; and as he met the eyes of his people; their eyes and heads bowing ceremoniously, he sat straighter on his golden perch and cleared his throat.
xxxxxxxx"Kinsmen of Sunclan, we gather in our grief today to bear judgement upon the criminals you seen before you."
xxxxxHe waited for the hisses of disgust quieted before continuing, willing his voice to remain steady as he forced his eyes to make contact with the murderers before him.
xxxxxThier eyes met his own with startling nerve, and the hatred that shown within them brimmed in the younger tom's eyes. A slight chill breathed upon the Pharaoh's neck as he realized just how intricately delicate the situation was. His people were in shock; his Captain blamed himself; and the gods have been thoroughly disgraced. And it was this tom before him that had set it in motion.

xxxxxBut the thought soon tossed within him as he stared longer into the eyes of the massacred tom before him; and the male that flanked him. And as his eyes widened in realization, the rouge seemed to say, "Yes," as if knowing he finally understood that it was not him who set it in motion, but the priestess herself. She who had deemed their band a threat, when they in reality, could've been a traveling band. And she paid for her mistake in full; they had only come to make sure of it. But, he reminded himself, despite their sought "justice". He himself now must decide their pitiful fate.

xxxxxFenrys stood beside his brother; his eyes dilated with what would not only reflect the impetuous hate that mingled in his eyes like auburn honey- but much more than mere words could convey. The eyes his mother possessed. The eyes he darkly coveted of his brother, Darius. He'd always been shadowed by him; his ridiculous achievements were always remarked upon in their small group, and his own only slightly acknowledged. But that didn't seem to matter anymore as he stared into the Pharaoh's amber gaze. And as they made contact, it took more energy than he could spare to keep his fur flat.
xxxxxIt had been Darius's rage that had driven them here. But in those moments, Fenrys hadn't cared. For the slaughter of his people- for the murder of the only family member that he felt that actually understood him; Fenrys for once agreed with his brother. And that was the only time, even if it was limited, that he actually felt close to him. Genuinely.
xxxxxHe flanked Darius loyally; sneered in disgust at the high and mighty people of Sunclan; their disgust mirrored his own.
xxxxxThe clan cats were legends among his people- tales to be told of their heroism and purity as a people due to them being favored by the gods. But what he'd witnessed...it was far from what he had expected. Disappointed. And even more so in himself to have been a fool enough to had allowed himself to actually believe that these were ever cats of reason. All his life, he'd been a fool.
xxxxxHe was slightly surprised to find Darius mirror the subtle brush of their pelts together. As if in a silent comfort they'd never discovered within each other. And for a brief moment, Fenrys felt as though he could forgive him. For all those years of neglect and silent punishment he'd never deserved.
xxxxxBut his thoughts and this moment was short lived as the Pharaoh drew a raspy breath and cleared his throat to once more address his people. It was clear that he'd finally decided what would become of their fate. And what was said next sent Fenrys's blood running cold.
xxxxx"In the name of the honored Goddess, Sekhmet, ancient tradition demands that for the blood that has been spilled, there be blood to pay for it." The Pharaoh now stood upon his throne; his tail high in the air in his dominance. "For the treachery that has been committed, I, Darkstar- Heir and Ruler of the Throne and holy dais of Sunclan, hereby proclaim that those responsible for this murder shall fight to the death to repay the blood-debt that now binds them to their fate."
xxxxxFenrys watched dumbfounded as all were lead out to the courtyard, and as the Pharaoh and all settled around the podium that lingered within the center of the well-tended area; the odd sensation of trimmed grass under-paw as guards hesitantly removed the chains that bound him. And as he found himself a tail-length from his brother; his eyes met Darius's with what he himself was surprised to find: despair. No doubt the same that protruded from his own eyes- the dull blue-grey ones that he'd inherited from his discarded father that had abandoned his mother all those moons ago.
xxxxxAfter all Fenrys had gone through, it was difficult to realize that Darius had been through just as much too. And seeing himself in the reflection of his brother's eyes that had once been so foreign yet familiar now reflected perhaps something more than either had bother seeing until now.
            xxxxxAnd they stood there- just staring at each other, even as they were mutally whipped until they were forced upon each other. As they locked together in combat, Fenrys could feel the restraint in Darius's blows; and even as they drew blood from each other;
it was as though the cats of Sunclan were still not pleased. Their yowls of placing bets and insults echoed through his skull to the point where he just stopped entirely and yowled in the most ferocious voice he'd ever heard coming from himself,
xxxxx"I will not kill my Gods-damned brother, you barbaric heretics!"xxxxxThe crowd quieted and murmured amongst themselves as Darkstar simply allowed himself to broach a horrendous smile. "Then you condemn him to be inevitably killed by me."
xxxxxFenrys snarled; his ears roaring as the Pharaoh stared at him. It was as though he were freshly killed dove to the tom- picking apart his feathers and taking slow, delivering bites while he were still squirming beneath him- perfectly alive.
xxxxx"So, what will it be? Pay the blood debt yourself, or have me pay it for you. I know which I would choose...Will you allow your brother to be killed by a stranger, or by your own paws?" Darius pinned his ears back in a horrible rage, yet as if in silent conclusion, he'd chosen before Fenrys even had the chance to respond.
Knocked to the ground and pinned under his brother's regretful eyes, he stared into them. Those wretchedly familiar eyes, and turned his head away in submission. Awaiting the blow that would inevitably be the end of him.

xxxxxA blur of white and a nerve-wrenching crack rang into the clearing- and the weight that was upon his body dissipated. The scent of death filled his maw in a sickening mass. Darius's blood pooled darkly in the moonlight, and mingled with his own.

xxxxxThe horrible, coppery tang of blood dripped from his maw as he knelt over the dark brute before him.
"This is wrong!" The brute shouted through the outraged meows; his pelt puffed out twice his size as he kept his temper in check and his breathing steady as he knelt before his Pharaoh. The eyes of his people bore into his pelt accusingly, until the shout of Darkstar instantly muted the entire clearing.
"Just what do you think you're doing, boy?" The Pharaoh regarded him with an edged tone, yet the steel in his eyes that bore into Stormhaze's bowed brow burned him where he stood as he replied in an equally cool voice, "My lord, I understand that the blood debt must be payed, and so it has. But this; this brutality and barbaric behavior-" he motioned to the clearing- to the dead tom before him, "this is not the way of Sunclan that I know. Has there not been enough blood spilled already?" The tom paused, awaiting the Pharaoh's response, but the tom's tail slightly motioned for him to continue. "Has the priestess of Sekhmet not already paid the price in full for our arrogance?" His cold voice seemed to echo through the crowed. None uttered a word- not even as the Pharaoh once more rose and lept from the podium.
xxxxx"You remain with my respect, young lord. However, your bravery is just as foolish as your arrogance. Your punishment for interrupting the blood debt will be ten lashes in the courtyard by sunhigh. Be grateful your rank shan't be stripped from this insolent act you've committed today."
The young tom bowed low and waited until the Pharaoh dismissed the meeting formally before turning to the guards that lingered around him. It was obvious the Pharaoh wanted nothing more to do with the trembling outsider who crouched over his kin forlornly. The tom seemed to be frozen in a trance as he was once more bound in chains and dragged to the dungeons- where he would linger for an unknown amount of time.
Stormhaze took no time in lingering around his people. He dispatched the fighters that would keep watch until dawn, then hurried to his den- eager to dissipate entirely from the scornful looks that followed him.

It was as though Dawn had come all too soon when he was roused from a stiff slumber.

        Layla| female | 11 moons | courtier |Location: Slave den|Tags: none| mentions: Stormhaze, Darius, Fenrys, Zira

Layla was twitching nervously in her sleep. Her mind was filled with the horrors she had seen yesterday. All she could dream of was the two brothers fighting brutally beside the shredded body of the preistess. Many times, she had been secretly a tad jealous of the high bloods, but despite how they abused her, she couldnโ€™t feel anything but sympathy for the poor molly.

If only she was as confident and talented as Zira. They likely werenโ€™t fueled with such horrid nightmares. With a shudder, she opened one golden eye at the little beam of sunlight filtering in. Itโ€™s sunrise...I should probably get up.... She let out a silent sigh. I wish I could forget everything I saw last night... her mind flashed back to the guard captain standing up for the two brothers. Well, mostly everything. That tom was so brave...itโ€™s a shame he was probably punished severely afterwards....

Layla sighed and began to rise, trying not to disturb the other sleeping slaves, praying to the gods no high blood would come and scream at them to hurry.

        Silver|male|24 moons|chattel cat| location: slave den|tags: none|mentions: Fenrys, Darius

Silver had had a wonderful sleep last night, filed with pleasant dreams of last nightโ€™s events. If only they had had Darkstar fight that tom...and loose. He grinned evilly in his slumber. Hell, Itโ€™d be better if all the cats of Sunclan killed each other. He licked his lips and silently imagined the violence unfold. That would be beautiful...

To be honest, Silver did feel quite bad for the two brothers last night. Their band of rogues had done a good deed to him offing one of the priestesses, so it was truly a shame they now faced a horrid fate. He yawned and turned to the side. He could feel the suns rays slowly touching his silver fur, but didnโ€™t rouse himself. He wouldnโ€™t do anything more than he was directly told to do, if he was going to be a slave he wouldnโ€™t be a good one. Itโ€™d kill him to give them the satisfaction of breaking him into a humble servant.

        Druidia|female|18 moons|loner|location: clan border|tags: none|mentions: none

The savannah cat padded through the desert sand, searching for prey. She had already caught two meerkats, but with the sun already rising, she wanted to make the most of the last cool hour or so she had before the blazing sun took full power. Sniffing, she inhaled a sharp scent, not the sweet smell of prey she had been hoping for.Ugh...Sunclan.... Her nose scrunched at the thought of the prideful, disgusting clan. I should avoid them... she thought.

Suddenly, her eyes followed a flash of movement. Just on the other side of the border, there was a large hare. Flattening her body, she stalked the prey across the border, hoping no Sunclan cats saw her. With a leap, she pounced and killed the rabbit. She quickly grabbed it by the scruff and carried it back towards her territory. As long as no stupid clan cat had seen her, today would be a great day with such a delicious catch of prey.

        Scarabstone|male|24 moons|scribe|location: commoner den, heading to treasury|tags: none|mentions:none

Scarabstone slowly blinked awake. Itโ€™s dawn already? he pondered for a moment with a yawn. Slowly, he rose and stretched, shaking his right paw to prepare for todayโ€™s writings. He adjusted his family heirloom around his neck, a green and silver scarab pendant, and then grabbed his small satchel of ink while humming a little tune.

The events of last night had already left his mind, he had more important things to do. As an inventory scribe, Scarabstibe had to go to the treasury and take daily inventory. With rogues present, it was extremely important that he counted everything properly, and made sure no coin was taken by that scum. He then had to go and check the food storages, accounting for the extra mouths to feed, if they were to be fed. He should double check with one of the other scribes on that matter. The abyssian Tom began padding out the exit towards the treasury.
