RAINCLAN;
home of the ephemeral and indomitable.
rainclan is an ancient clan, still running today with ever so fierce cats. they are based around a beautiful, brimming rainforest, separating the small, quiet tribes of the twolegs from the bustling, cacophonous cities, with structures that touch the sky. it was first discovered by a rogue group of natives to the island who claimed the land as their own, evolving over time to hunt the plentiful creatures that lived alongside them to survive. the main religion of rainclan is the belief of an afterlife clan called the cats of iridescent skies. they follow the warrior code and believe if you do evil in your life, instead of becoming a warrior of the iridescent skies, you are sent to suffer in the fields of cromulent eternity. it is often believed to be blank, bloody fields of colourless light, where the grass is dead and flowers never bloom.
PREY;
squirrels; mice; small monkeys; birds; bats; fish; non-poisonous amphibians. kits are taught from a young age how to identify the ones safe for consumption.
PREDATORS;
large monkeys; wild cats; capybaras; elephants. warriors are trained effective methods to chase these away if it is possible.
TERRITORY
CAMP;
a dense clearing with just enough space between the trees to allow the light in. near the back of the camp, there is the tallest tree, a large half-branch that overlooks the camp where the leader makes announcements. the leader's den is a hole in the tree, just the right size for a cat to squeeze in and crawl to the bottom, where an extended space and soft fern nest resides. the nursery is a wide, hollow space underneath the roots of a tree, lined with thick vines as an enforced wall. the floor underneath the roots is soft and covered in moss, perfect for kits to tussle and have fun. the apprentice den is a thick clump of overgrown ferns,
that curl over each other just enough to make a decent shelter. the warriors den is the space underneath an intertwining canopy of trees, the branches clinging to each other to make a dense roof. the floor here is littered with soft grass. the elder's den is a broken log near the bottom of the camp, a patch of ferns blocking one side for a one-way entry. finally, the medicine cat den is a shady hollow similar to the warriors den, one of the trees being hollowed out for storing herbs, and a branch sticking out for the medicine cat's nest. the medicine cat apprentice has their own nest, a small dip underneath one of the hollow's tree's roots that is steep enough for a cat to comfortably curl up.
HUNTING GROUNDS;
rainclan hunting grounds are spread out into three locations: the clearing of endless growth, the creek of ancient water, and the bridge of woven pawsteps. the clearing of endless growth is notably a dangerous location, as this is where many patrols tend to find predators. however, ironically, it also happens to be the most plentiful provider. the creek of ancient water seems to be the most popular hunting ground, as it is said the very first leader of rainclan, petrichor, was born in the shallow waters. finally, the bridge of woven pawsteps is where it is easier to access birds and higher ground prey, as the twoleg tribe-made bridge from natural resource is a good starter for tree-climbing.
HOLY GROUND;
the main site of worship in the forest is called the cave of echoing whispers. it is the sacred place of peace where the medicine cats of the clan go to interpret messages from their spiritual ancestors, and where the leader goes to receive their blessings.
