In a forest far away from the grasps of humankind, there is a clan of cats known as BrookClan. Although small, they are the rulers of the forest; prey know to steer away from their camp or live in fear of being hunted and wandering cats stray away from the borders in order to to avoid harm. Even predators remain wary of these ferocious warriors.

These cats live in close proximity to a variety of brooks, hence their name, forcing them to be adept both on and off land. The clan is made up of an assortment of skilled cats: hunters, fishers, swimmers, climbers, and many more. Due to the forest environment, the clan is also diverse in appearance ranging from brown tabbies to calicoes. The only thing all these cats have in common is their loyalty to the clan. Once a cat joins, there is no leaving.

B r o o k C l a n . C a m p

The camp is a clearing hidden away in the forest by a circle of five oak trees with broad trunks. Sunlight streams in from the canopy above making it easy to see the leaves and twigs that litter the ground below. The cats reside in dens beneath the oaks. They can enter and exit as they please by slipping underneath the roots of the trees. In the center of the clearing, there is a large tree stump where the clan leader call meeting from. The leader and deputy of the clan reside in the den beneath the stump along with their mates, if they have them. Just outside of the clearing, there is a brook that can be heard from within; it is the main source of water for the clan members.

T e r r i t o r y

The Moon Rock - This is located north of the camp at the top of the territory. The medicine cat comes here once every moon to make contact with StarClan.

Pebble Stream - Prey is bountiful here, so it is a popular spot for hunting patrols. It is also lush in medical herbs for the medicine cats of the clan.

Fox Thicket - Cats are wary of this area. It is often the home of foxes, so patrols often come by cautiously to keep an eye on it.

The Moss Pit - Mentors often bring their apprentices here to teach them how to fight. It is named for the thin layer of moss that lines the ground. This makes it less painful when cats are pinned down during training.

The ginger she-cat rose to her paws and into a long stretch. Grumbling slightly, she guessed it was still early in the morning. Oh well, she'd always been an early riser. She yawned, pearly white teeth glimmering in the dim light of the warriors' den. She weaved between the other cats' sleeping figures and out of the den. The cool morning air immediately surrounded her like a pleasant mist as she padded towards the center of camp. Her orange eyes searched around the clearing, seeing if anyone else was awake.

The small apprentice stirred in his sleep. His yellow eyes slowly opened, then closed again. He was not getting up this early, not even for training. If a cat wanted him up, they'd have to come get him and drag him out by his tail. He stretched out on his side lazily and waited to fall back asleep.

The slim grey she-cat wiggled out of her sleep and stretched getting out and yawning. She looked around to see anyone else awake and shrugged licking her paws starring to make a morning grooming then she sat up and smiled to herself

The furry apprentice woken up and yawneD his eyes bearly open. He groaned and went out of the den stretching only to fall and sigh to sleepy to stand up but he slobber walking to the fresh kill pile.

The white she-cat awakened from her slumber and escaped from the Cat door from her two leg place. She went down the hard wood stairs and looked at the forest knowing she went there yesterday but she likes the smell and how it looks. She dashed to the forest happily her tail high up running and paws creating dust below on the dirt. She smiled her tail swayed one time with a curve of her tail.

Stifling a yawn, the new leader of BrookClan arched his back into a stretch as he stepped out of the stump of what was assumed to be a formerly grand oak. His fur stuck up in the strangest positions and he struggled to mat all of the flyaways down with his tongue. Blinking his amber eyes, he glanced around. The sun was just now peeking out from over the horizon and its warm rays lit up the sleepy forest below. Fogstar noticed Ivypelt by the warriors' den and the ginger figure of Russetmist moving towards the center of the clearing BrookClan called camp. With one more shake of his fur, tomcat exited his empty den. That reminds me. I'll have to pick a new deputy soon. His heart fell at the thought of Juniperstar, the kind leader before him. She had been kind to everyone and his heart seemed to beat just the slightest bit faster at the sight of her.

Fogstar shook his head to clear the sullen thoughts before approaching both Ivypelt and Russetmist. "Good morning you two. How'd you sleep?" he asked warmly.

The small apprentice awoke with a start as she blinked her amber eyes open. She rose groggily to her paws and began to pick moss scraps from her cream pelt. After her fur retained its usual cleanliness, Daisypaw began to make her way out of the apprentices' den, but not before tripping over the resting form Shadepaw in the darkness of den. Landing with a soft groan, she scowled when she realized her fellow apprentice was indeed awake. "Hey quit laying there and get up you big furball," she mewed, tapping the black tom with her paw.
