The cats of the old days spoke of a great liquid flame that destroyed everything in its' path. They say that is how we were created. Ashstrike and Emberclaw were siblings during the great days on this island, everything was peaceful and then the original clan, Fireclan, was split into two when the great liquid flame came. It rolled down the rocks and destroyed everything it touched. Luckily for the cats though it was very slow so everyone escaped unharmed. Ashstrike became Ashstar and formed Ashclan, he became a noble leader, respected by all he had saved in the disaster. His sister, Emberclaw also became a leader, she was wise and led the cats to safety during their trials, forming the clan known as Emberclan. Ashclan and Emberclan went back to their original territory after many years and found that it was still recovering. Things could never be as they were. Emberstar suggested that they remain in two clans and meet at the old camp every full moon. The clan leaders and medicine cats discussed the idea and agreed to it. The two leaders led the cats back to their territories and began their new lives.
"Quit scaring them with your old stories." Bluekit grumbled.
"Hi there! I'm Bluekit! The old rambling cat over there is my father, Greystar." She pointed to a grey tom with blue eyes. "Don't let his crazy stories about liquid flame or Fireclan scare you, this island is perfectly safe. Well...except for the twolegs, snakes, big cats, and dogs. Sorry! Forget I said anything about those, the clan protects everyone, sometimes the clans even work together to protect everyone. But you don't have to worry about some magic flame destroying everything around you, its just some old story they tell the kits to try and scare them. Anyway! Let me show you around the island!"
"See? Its a nice place! The big mountain is where the 'original clan's' camp was, we meet there every full moon. To the left of the meeting place is Ashclan's territory, where me and my father live, and to the right is Emberclan's territory. Emberclan isn't that bad, the two clans get along alright as long as we keep to our own territories. I remember this one time, when an apprentice wandered into our territory. The other cats were so mad at the apprentice but that is a story for another time. Let me show you our territory!"
"This is where Ashclan lives, there are a lot of trees and other plants, the medicine cats don't have to go very far for most of what they need. A river runs through our territory to the lake near the meeting place, not to mention all the other streams and small rivers. Our camp has a pond in the middle with a series of little waterfalls. The leader's den is behind the waterfall, the apprentices' den is in a fallen log, the nursery is to the left of the leader's den, the medicine cat's den is to the right, and the warriors' den is across the pond beside the elders' den."
Enough about us, there is also Emberclan. Now I've never been there myself but my father has told me all about it, you see...there was once this prophecy and the two leaders had to work together and both leaders ended up visiting the other camp. Sorry again, I'm rambling like my father. I'm just so excited to meet new cats! Anyway, this is Emberclan's territory.
"This is where Emberclan lives. They have a lot more trees than us but other than that its pretty similar, except for the camps. Now if you thought Ashclan's camp looks cool you haven't seen anything! I want to see it so bad but all I've heard are stories. Maybe one day I will though, but anyway let me describe what my father said. There is a river that runs straight through Emberclan's territory, including their camp. There is one big waterfall that leads to many very small waterfalls in a rocky stream that cuts through the camp and then opens up into the river again. The leader's den is at the base of the waterfall with the medicine cat's den on the other side of the waterfall. The nursery and elders' den are along the stream where large rocks have gathered and been hollowed out by the current but water doesn't flow in there anymore cause rocks block the path the water took, cats can get in fine though. The warriors' den is beside the medicine cat's den but in a small cave. The apprentices' den is under a large tree stump that had almost been uprooted but now makes a nice little cave-like area."
"The coolest thing about our island though is Black Rock Cave. This is where cats go to speak to Starclan. The cave is just under our meeting spot so it is fairly close to each clan's territory. It has a circular pool surrounded by a bunch of jagged rocks."
"There is also a place where twolegs live, bit it is pretty far away from us. The only twolegs we see are carrying large things on their backs that look like they are stuffed with all sorts of strange twoleg stuff, but they leave us alone most of the time."
