Decades have past since the era of the four great clans: Thunder, River, Shadow and Wind, have all ceased to exist. However, their codes and stories are immune to the many attempts to destroy them. Always, a cat has managed to escape the endless attacks on the sacred traditions passed down by the generations. New clans rise from these survivors, growing into the very essence of their ancestors clans. They carry on the never ending battle to prevail against all who oppose the warrior code. This is the tale of four newly born clans. MistClan, a clan who lurks in the misty depths of their forest, using its unusual environment to their advantage against enemies. StreamClan, a clever clan who uses the streams that crisscross their territory as a navigation system. RainClan, a clan who's sleek fur and steady paws keep them on their paws and dry in their damp meadows and forests. And DewClan, a clan that uses brute strength to protect their glistening domain from all intruders. These are the four new clans that have come into being, what will their fate be? Will they succeed where others have failed, or fall like the rest to corruption and jealousy?
MistClan's history is an interesting, and lengthy, story. It all started with a young, pretty she-cat by the name of Missy and her dream of not being alone any more. Missy was your normal loner, she did as she pleased and she didn't give it a second thought when she had stumbled across MistClans unusually territory and made her home there. She was happy there, surrounded by thick fog on damp mornings and though most days in Leaf-fall, she had enough prey and not many kittypets or rouges wandered into the territory. Missy thought life couldn't get any better, until a young tomcat came into the picture. He was in a small group that totaled about four cats, with one she-cat that was expecting kits. He interdicted himself to Missy by the name of Bramble, claiming that he and his friends needed a place to rest for the night and that they had been walking all day. Missy, being a kind cat, showed them back to where she had been making her home for the past few moons, allowing them to stay for as long as they needed. Bramble, snatching up the chance to take advantage of poor Missy, kept himself no his friends there for many, many moons, and ended up taking in lots of other kittypets, loners, and rouges claiming that he knew them.
But soon after the cats arrived, they took to Missy's kindness, taking her side when she argued with Brmable about anything. After almost three seasons, there were almost fourteen cats, plus five kits and another she-cat that was expecting. Missy then got an idea. She remembered stories that her mother had told her when she was a kit about the four great Clans, Shadow, River, Wind, and Thunder, so she decided to make all of these cats into a Clan. She thought about lots of different names for her new Clan, but none of them seemed to fit.. Until she took a look around the territory. A brand new name sprung up in her mind, and joy filled the she-cat until she could burst. Missy quickly gathered all the cats, telling them her idea. Most the cats loved the idea of a Clan, but there were just a few who didn't. The few who didn't were three toms, Brmable and two of his close followers, Spot and Fang, and they spoke out loud and clear for all the cats to hear. "You mean to tell us we have to look after each other instead of being able to live freely?" was the best argument they could come up with and Missy, who was just starting to show signs that she was expecting kits (Brmables, to be exact.), was hurt by their words. "No, you three may live freely, but you are never allowed back in MistClan territory. I'm announcing this now, for all of you to hear, any cat that wants what Brmable, Spot, and Fang will soon have, banishment from MistClan and 'freedom,' leave now while you still have a chance." Missy's words rang out loud and clear, but no cat moved an inch. Brmable, Spot and Fang soon left MistClan, and Missy got a new name - Miststar. She gave every cat new names as well, doing her best to remember the name from the stories she had heard when she was a kit.
Now, many, many, many more seasons have passed since Miststar died, and there have been many new generations in MistClan since the great she-cat was the Leader.
