timberclan. the clan of the forest. courageous, noble, and loyal. proud, fierce, and stubborn. fair. all of these traits describe the clan who thrives behind the trees. timberclan cats are none for their skilled hunting techniques and fierceness when charging headfirst into battle. loyalty is mightily important to them. each clanmate is trusted fairly, though when that trust is betrayed there are strict punishments. timberclan warriors have strong builds and dark pelts that help blend in with the undergrowth where they hunt. common colors are tabby, black, and brown. uncommon are white and ginger. timberclan tends to stay away from water, for they hate getting their paws wet and prefer the taste of a plump freshly killed mouse then a slimy and cold fish. their pride is strong and each cat, from kit to elder holds their held up high. they are noble cats and practically give their lives to the warrior code, following it with every pawstep they take. they train their apprentices so that each cat is willing to give their life for their clan or the warrior code. they are respectful for those who rank higher then them, including starclan. all timberclan apprentices are trained to climb trees to catch birds, and more skillfully leap out of the tree to catch a bird in midflight all the while landing lightly on their paws. obviously, timberclan is the best clan.

• "i remember when two clans lived peacefully- no daily border scrumishes. gatherings held to arguments and prey was plentiful." the three kits scooted closer to the elder, their eyes unblinking moon pools. the elderly she-cat went on, glad to have finally caught the kit's attention."rushclan and timberclan lived in peace with themselves. rushclan stuck to fish and water voles, timberclan stuck with their usual forest prey. borders were left alone." the elder's eyes were unfocused, as if she were in another, happier place, tumbling in cherished memories. then they darkened and her brow furrowed, the fur along her spine prickling as if she had sensed an intruder. the kits looked at eachother uncomfortably, kneading their tiny paws into the soft mossy floor."then came an omen. it was a normal day, regular patrols were taking place and mentors were out training with their apprentices. our medicine cat at the time, dawnbreeze had found it. bored into the earth was a trickle of water, much like the stream rushclan fished out of. the stream was colored scarlet and the stench of blood was overwhelming." pain clouded the elders eyes. "it was a kit," she whispered hoarsely. the kit's eyes widened at the horrific thought, though curiosity kept them in their places infront of the elder."the blood trickled from a clean cut in the kit's neck. it was a sign- clear as day. rushclan could no longer be trusted. the omen had been given to us to warn us all that there was going to be much more bloodshed, much more innocent lives lost if we didn't stop rushclan." her gaze swept over the three kits who were sitting stiffly infront of her- terrified expressions played on their faces when she realized that she had gone to far."ah, don't worry kittens. rushclan won't get you, for timberclan's warriors are strong and noble. they will never let them take you." the tension in the den melted and relief washed over the kits faces and before she knew it they were bouncing around, cuffing eachother around the ears and scuffing up the moss that the apprentices had worked hard early that morning to replace. she let out a soft hiss as she swept her tail around the three kits guiding them toward the den entrance. they chirped happily."mouse-brains! the apprentices worked hard to get the den straightened up and you've already mussed it up. now run along and go cause trouble elsewhere." hence her strict tone, she couldn't muster one ounce of anger upon the kits. they were so innocent, so carefree. a small smile played on her muzzle as she watched them scamper off, tripping and tumbling off of eachother's own paws."thanks for the story birdflight!" "yeah, thanks birdflight!" "hey! watch it weedkit or i'll shred your ears!" "yeah? well.. i'll shred yours first!" birdflight stifled a small sigh as the watched the kits run off. smiling, she lumbered over to curl up next to her loyal mate, her mind winding. what had come upon the two clans?

"lionfur, you need to see this," a beautiful silver she-cat said, her gazed clouded with worry and fear. the handsome golden tabby tipped his head to the side, obviously noticing his companion's unease. "what is it silverfish?" silverfish bit her lip. "it's timberclan... come with me," and with that the beautiful silver she-cat took off, her tail flying behind her. lionfur followed her with growing worry. not until they had reached their destination did his breath catch in his throat. "a-an omen?" he stuttered, his fur standing on end as he watched the warriors crowd around the dead kit. they didn't notice the two starry warriors standing among them. "we never sent this... did we?" silverfish interrogated with an edge in her voice. lionfur stepped back, not believing what he was seeing. "no.. starclan would never kill an innocent kit for an omen." his voice shook, though it rang with truth. silverfish's eyes darkened. "then only one other thing could have done this," she said in a low hiss. lionfur lowered his head as his claws slipped out, digging deep into the soft ground. his eyes turned into angry black pools and his tail whipped furiously. the two warriors slipped away, leaving the clan cats to their mourning.

a dark grey mottled tabby slipped through the dark trees. he held his head high and walked in a triumphant stride. a small dusky white she-cat with adder long front claws approached him, her eyes narrowed. she grasped his throat with her paw, threatening to unsheath her claws. "well?" she hissed. "did you do it?" "y-yes!" the large tom choked out, fear clouding his gaze. a sly smile spread onto the she-cat's muzzle and she threw the tom to the side. "well done, tornpelt." the tom had regained his footing and he dipped his head, glad of the praise. "foolish clancats," she declared triumphantly. "so easy to play. they'd give their worthless little lives to starclan if they asked them too!" she purred. "dark forest will rule again, tornpelt. you just wait."
