Two rival wolf packs had always been in a state of perpetual turmoil since their formation. They utterly despised the opposition for various reasons, and even the most trivial and diminutive things could initiate a fight. The Pack of Rising Dawn hated the Pack of Fallen Dusk for its somewhat cruel practices to toughen their pups, and the Pack of Fallen Dusk denounced the Pack of Rising Dawn as useless, pathetic weaklings. The battles were not usually fatal, however, which was quite fortunate.

But soon, that all changed. The time of plentiful prey was drawing to a close, and resources were dreadfully scarce for both packs. War immediately broke out, and at first, the Pack of Fallen Dusk was winning. Eventually, the Pack of Rising Dawn began to develop gifts, drawing powers from the elements; fire, air, water, and earth. They enjoyed a short and fleeting glimpse of victory before the Pack of Fallen Dusk also obtained gifts, but they were different, more like enhancements of normal wolf skills. The war lasted for four generations - both packs were almost completely obliterated, with the exception of about twelve wolves in the Pack of Rising Dawn and six in the Pack of Fallen Dusk.

The Pack of Fallen Dusk held a strong belief that it was unfair for the Pack of Rising Dawn to have twice as many wolves, and they retaliated in an attempt to seek justice. The last battle was a bloodbath, and the Pack of Rising Dawn was triumphant; they retained all their members, while the Pack of Fallen Dusk was left with merely four.

A peace treaty was announced, and both packs were given time to recover, although the gifts were all lost over time. The Pack of Fallen Dusk refined its ruthless and often violent training techniques, and they became increasingly stronger, until they had miraculously expanded to double the size of the Pack of Rising Dawn. Terrified that the heartless members of the Pack of Fallen Dusk would attack, the Pack of Rising Dawn decided to strike, in an attempt to reduce their adversaries' population.

The second great war was longer than the first, with no gifts to help either side. There were no survivors, apart from a few newborn pups still in the den. Five in the Pack of Rising Dawn, and three in the Pack of Fallen Dusk. Whilst the pups from the Pack of Rising Dawn received elemental gifts the instant they opened their eyes for the first time, daily survival was a struggle for the young pups of the Pack of Fallen Dusk.

Fortunately, were partially adopted by a mysterious wolf who called himself Mentor; he taught the youngsters their heritage and history, and made sure they neither lived a soft life nor perished. Mentor never took sides, and told the pups only facts, not opinionated half-truths. Still, the young wolves began to feel anger and resentment towards the Pack of Rising Dawn, and planned to murder every single one of them for what their ancestors did. As their desire for vengeance developed, Mentor told them to follow their heart's desires. Obviously, the three decided to kill the Pack of Rising Dawn, and they took Mentor along.

The Pack of Rising Dawn was completely bewildered when the first attack was launched; they were being blamed for their ancestors' actions. They fled, after one of them accidentally struck Mentor with lightning, killing him instantly. The three were devastated by their surrogate father's death and vowed to avenge him and the rest of their slain packmates by hunting down the five members of the Pack of Rising Dawn, and murdering all of them.

The five elemental survivors knew it was purely accidental, but there was no reasoning with the Pack of Fallen Dusk now. The chase, which takes place in Canada, has continued for a year now and shows no sign of stopping. Will peace ever come?

To join, send me a private message with these contents: the character you'd like, the character's desired name, and a sample of what will be your average roleplaying. For example, if you usually write around 4-10 lines, send me a sample that has 7 lines - your average. If you are not up for the math, then just post multiple samples and I will evaluate. Remember, we are not aiming for posts below two lines, nor posts that always exceed ten lines. An average of four to eight lines would be appreciated. Alternatively, you could post on the thread, but if you do not include a group of samples or average, I will go through your recent posts and evaluate your average myself.

There will be no perfect characters in this roleplay, as they are my major pet peeve. To circumvent this dilemma, I have created the outlines of the characters already; but still, I will be quite irritated if you start turning your character into a Mary-Sue. Every wolf has a balance of strengths and weaknesses, let's keep it that way. I've already stated strengths and weaknesses on the characters' pages; the ones I didn't explicitly mention are average.

If you decide to join, you must be fairly active. Don't join and never come back, I would like to keep this roleplay active and alive.

This roleplay could be considered very low semi-literate; the minimum is two lines. More is appreciated, but certainly not required, but I would suggest that you don't type much more than ten lines on your average post. The occasional long post is all right, but if they are continuously huge, it may intimidate the writers who are less capable of writing extravagantly.

Do not god-mod or power-play someone else's character. This extends from the super-obvious [One shoved Three and Three clawed her back] to controlling their fates [One shoved Three, pushing him to the ground] to mind-reading.

It would be greatly appreciated if we could all be friendly with each other. Virtual cookies [and waffles] are a necessity.

Feel free to share your ideas, questions, and suggestions. I'll always try to make this roleplay as fun as possible for you guys.

Everyone will only have one character. The only exception is, if we're one or two spots short of starting and I feel that there doesn't seem to be any further interest, then we will fill in the spots.

Please do not change your character. If he is extremely cheerful and optimistic, you're not going to make him into a depressed wolf. Stick to the guidelines on the characters' pages, but you are welcome to fill in any blanks. For example, if I don't say anything about him being flirty, you can either make him a big flirt or not a flirt at all, whatever you'd like. Don't do anything that breaks character, though. A cold and heartless wolf wouldn't suddenly start being a super-optimist.

Have fun, and I look forward to roleplaying with you all.

Our ancestors were horrible in our eyes - they actually participated in a war, and brought destruction to both packs. But now, we are being punished for nothing but our forefathers' actions and a mistake we made. We don't want another war, we just want to stay alive, but we need to escape. Our pursuers will stop at nothing to kill us. Can we make it?

    - | Nala | “the reckless one” | female | fire | alpha | played by Eagle's Cry
She is brave, dauntless, daring, willing to take risks. While she has a warm heart, she also hides a fiery temper. She falls in love easily, and is truly a good wolf, although her emotions are subject to constant change.
Her fur is a warm shade of brown, and it is quite long. Unlike the stereotype of crimson fire, her eyes are actually a soft aquamarine shade. She is skinny and tall, and quite attractive.
She has been bestowed with the gift of invisibility, although she can only manage it for about four to six minutes at one time - additionally, she cannot be burned or hurt by heat and fire in any way.
She is quite strong, but her intelligence is lower than average.

    - | Rowan | “the patient one” | male | earth | beta | played by Mogadorian
He is diplomatic and humorous, always making sure that all is well within the small pack. He seems to always be in a perpetual state of calm happiness, since he nearly never gets excited, angry, or depressed. He is quite patient and appreciates company.
His pelt is mainly stone grey, with flecks of dusty brown. He has warm yellowish-amber eyes, like the colour of dandelions in the spring. This hefty, wolf stands tall and is very strongly-built.
His gifts allow him to control plants, and create earthquakes at will. He favors his first gift, as he hates to destroy the landscape that he loves so much, and he would much rather create beauty than wreck it.
His intelligence and endurance are great, but his speed and agility are not so much.

    - | Akira | “the optimistic one” | female | water | middle rank | played by Everest
She is amiable and extremely optimistic, always seeing the best in everyone and everything, even her potential murderers. She is constantly happy, and has never experienced sadness or anger, even when it seems logical. Also, she is helpful and friendly.
She has pure white fur, which is somewhat scruffy and sticks out in all directions. It makes her look a bit chubbier than she actually is. She is very small and normal weight, and appears delicate and dainty, and her eyes are blue.
Her main gift is healing - if she places a paw on the injured or sick wolf, they will begin to heal. She can't bring anyone back to life nor heal anything fatal, and it drains her energy, rendering her immobile for a length of time. She can also breathe underwater.
Her agility is much above average, but her strength is low.

    - | Cacher | “the lively one” | male | air | middle rank | played by Moo.
He's a free spirit, the life of a party, wanting the moment to last. He holds a 'live life like there's no tomorrow' attitude, which could prove true any day, given the persistence and bloodlust of their pursuers. But when needed, he can be selfless and courageous.
His fur is normally white, with a few hints of subtle silver showing through. His eyes are bright amber, or what would be more accurately described as golden. He has a skinny and tall build, with long legs.
He has two highly coveted gifts; control over the nearby weather, and flight for a very short time. When he is not actively controlling weather nearby, it changes rapidly according to his mood, which could be a deadly giveaway if he's careless with it.
His speed and endurance are pretty good, but his strength and intelligence are below average.

    - | Star | “the sensitive one” | female | all-elements | omega | played by Jetti
She has the mindset of someone younger than her years, and often feels like a pup trapped inside an adult wolf's body. She is very sensitive, and is subject to periods of depression. Usually, she just wants someone to cheer her up, however. She's very caring.
Her fur is an elegant shade of silver, and her eyes are vivid emerald green. She is quite small, and skinny as well.
Her gift is complicated. If she looks into the eyes of another elemental, asks them to give her their gifts, and they agree, she can 'borrow' them for either three hours, or until they make eye contact again - whichever comes first. But with over a season of hard practice, she can actually 'learn' the gift - the original wolf can keep it, and so can she. She could eventually have all gifts like this.
Her intelligence and agility fare very well, yet her strength, endurance, and speed are mediocre.

We have been unfairly treated in the past, and when we attacked with vengeance, our Mentor was slaughtered. We do not have elemental powers like the other group, and our pack consists of only a few members. But we can feel it; we are beginning to develop, receiving our gifts. We will hunt the other pack down and chase them forever if that's what it takes, but we will certainly strike back, seek justice, get our revenge at last. No matter what.

    - | Theron | “the heartless one” | male | strength and endurance | lead hunter | played by Keriae
On the outside, he is bloodthirsty and dark, with a short temper and no heart. On the inside, he is just a lonely young wolf who wants to get revenge for the death of his beloved Mentor. He really cares about his pack, deep down, because they're all that remain.
His fur is greyish brown, and doesn't really look like much. His eyes are cold ice blue, which match his outward facade. He is strongly built and very tall, which give him a very intimidating appearance.
He will have two very useful gifts; strength and endurance. Strength will help him win his battles, of course, but it also has countless other uses. Endurance allows him to not get tired as easily as normal wolves, and while he isn't very quick, he can cover long distances without even running out of breath. Unfortunately, this does not apply when he is critically injured; in that situation, his stamina is only that of a normal wolf.
    He's not a sprinter, speed isn't a strong point.

    - | Strike | “the ruthless one” | female | speed and intelligence | huntress | played by Two
She is cold and emotionless on the outside, having absolutely no empathy for most wolves and enjoying to torture them. She hardly ever forgives anyone, and never gives up on anything. Don't count her out, though - she's surprisingly loyal to those she cares about.
Her fur is raven-black, neat and immaculate. Her eyes are a dusky shade of brown, and they convey her cold, critical personality, as if they are analyzing every detail and waiting to strike. She has a scar down her throat from fighting; it's a miracle she survived it.
She will soon receive her gift of exceptional speed, and not long after, she will get her power of intelligence; she is already quite intellectual and swift at the moment, but her gifts will enable her to sprint at speeds beginning at sixty miles per hour and steadily increasing, and to learn so efficiently that she could begin to understand human languages and more. She will also be able to think at unbelievable speeds, due to the combination of gifts.
She has a major drawback in strength, however.

    - | Aster | “the submissive one” | male | agility and accuracy | hunter | played by sorrell.
He is very respectful of the others in his pack, and always wants to please them, and not make them angry. He has a very kind heart, but he will kill to impress the higher ranks in his pack, no matter how much he hates doing it.
He has a ginger, or golden pelt, which is often fluffed out to disguise his 'wimpy' appearance. His eyes are pale green, like dying grass, but he doesn't like to think of it that way. He is tall and skinny, and he considers himself to look like a weakling.
His gifts, when they start to appear, will be of great assistance. Agility will help him dodge attacks and survive potentially fatal fights, because he has low pain tolerance, much to his dismay. Accuracy will help him attack efficiently - every blow will land where he wants it to, and he won't miss his targets unless they have either his gift of agility or the huntress's gift of speed. And since they are the only ones with these gifts, this won't happen.
His intelligence is below average, unfortunately.

MOMENT

Image

Small recap: Nothing has happened so far. The Hunted should be seeking refuge, and the Hunters can either resolve to continue chasing the Hunted for the night or settle down and rest for a bit.

Setting: It's a very cold night in late January, and the sky is clouded over but not snowing. The ground is covered with a thick layer of snow. Both groups are currently situated in a dense pine forest.

Relationships: None yet, unfortunately... love is encouraged, it would really spice up the roleplay.

    Owner: Two
    Moderator: ---
    Members: Eagle's Cry | Mogadorian | sorrell. | Jetti | Keriae | Everest | Moo.

Additional notes: The Hunted all have their gifts already, but the Hunters shouldn't start developing theirs until at least page ten.

Character| The Submissive one

Name| Aster

RolePlay Example| Sighing as the rest of the patrol went off; the orange tom flicked his tail slightly and followed after the rest of the cats. Leaping up into the exit tunnel and squeezing out and into the outside forest. Grimacing at the cool winds that blew against his fur, he quickly smoothed down his fur and tailed after the patrol. He really didn't mind being left behind, gave him more time to himself away from cats he'd prefer to stay away from. The tom easily caught up to the patrol, weaving into the brown grass after his mentor; who appeared to be in a sour mood. Such a thing was amusing to him, assuming it was Thornface that had disturbed her mood. Once he had reached Dustfire, his ears twitched slightly in acknowledgement to the medic, "You should change that look you have, wouldn't want your face to get stuck like that," he deadpanned dryly, observing the scowl like appearance she held.

{Will this do?
