Heatherstar laid on a tree branch of an old, large oak tree. She rested her head on her paws and watched the clouds. Heatherstar sighed quietly...

Pantherfur was out in the woods, hunting. He scented a mouse nearby, so he stalked over to it. Making sure his tail woundn't brush the ground, he prepared to leap. Pantherfur hungrily licked his lips, wanting to eat the plumb mouse. It's for the clan, not me he told himself. He leaped and killed it with a swift bite on its neck.

Thistle foot observed his clan through his gleaming amber eyes. He tail flicked back and forth through the dust on the ground, stirring it delicately into the breezy air.

Amberwing softly licked and paw in the shade of a bush. Her fur glittered in the sunlight that streamed through the light green leafs. She purred to herself and smiled.

Heatherstar let her tail droop off of the branch that she is on. She continued to watch the clouds. Steadily, tears dripped down her face. Drip... Drip... Drip... they went, falling from leaf to leaf and onto the ground.

Pantherfur padded back into camp, dragging a fat squirrel and a plump mouse. He set them in the fresh-kill pile, which was a fair size. He purred contently, then laid down. Pantherfur began grooming himself.

Thistle foot felt a little drop in his fur and looked up to see Heatherstar crying. He jumpe up to where she was, "What's wrong?"

Amberwing sensed a cat enter camp and saw her crush, Pantherfur. She blushed softy and got up. She crawled out from under the bush and towards him. "Hi," she meowed shyly.

Heatherstar looked at her worried clanmate and sighed. She wipped away her tear with her tail and looked away. "Nothing." she lied, the words getting cought in her throut. Heatherstar looked down at her paws, and slightly shuffled them.

Pantherfur looked up from his grooming. "Hello," he said, not unkindly. "How are you?" he said, thinking, I may as well get a conversation going... Pantherfur continued on with his grooming.

Thistlefoot cocked his head. "Apparently it not 'nothing' since your crying. You can tell me Heatherstar," he meowed kindly to her.

Amberwing dipped her head. "I'm pretty good," she meowed and looked around for something else to say. "How's the prey running?" She asked him.

Heatherstar looked up at him and then back down at her paws. "It's just that-that-that" she said, chocking on the words. "I'm lonely." Heatherstar admitted, feeling like she was whinning like a kit. "Everyone seems so happy, and then I don't because-because-because I'm lonely..." she said almost inaudably.

Pantherfur stopped grooming. "Very good." He said happily. "I think everyone will be well-fed today." he told her. Pantherfur looked at the fresh-kill pile and purred, because it was full.

Thistlefoot felt sympathy for her. "Thers no need to be lonely.. you'll find someone someday."

Amberwing smiled happily. "That's good," she meowed and purred with delight.

"I hope so..." Heatherstar said, looking at her paws.

Pantherfur purred as he finished grooming himself.

"It'll be okay," Thistlefoot meowed softly then jumped back down the rock to leave her in peace.

Amberwing smile shyly and licked a paw. She drew it over her ears and flicked her tail through the dusty ground.
