Special permission was given to me from Hiccup to create a new JBD roleplay, this isn't a replacement for the original created by Sapphy~, it's side roleplay if you will.

Special thanks to everyone who helped me brain storm with ideas for a new roleplay, extra credit goes to Sahre, the plot is based off of her suggestion. :3 Thank you!

This roleplay is only open to those who own a jellybean dragon. If you are unfamilar with jellybean dragons, (also known as JBD) Check them out! Be sure to read through the rules HIccup has provided.

Plot

Zoologists all over the world have been fascinated by jellybean dragons since the very first was found. This species has succeeded in many tests and challenges thrown at them by scientists, and many fascinating results. They were proven safe to introduce them to the public as pets. With their soft fluffy fur, heart warming personalities, hilarious little tricks and traits, and their intelligent minds, they immediately became the highest ranked of all species. Everyone wanted at least one. Because of their popularity, people got away with selling them at ridiculous prices. Some people were lucky enough to avoid the expenses, discovering a stray, or receiving a gift. Of course, with particular citizens, they abused their jellybean dragons. It was one day that zoologists made a fascinating discovery, (that is not yet to be told) a secret organization by the name of Project Code has been observing jellybean dragons, and also eavesdropping with these Zoologists. The find in the species was truly intriguing, for reasons not yet to be told, both Project Code and a band of Zoologists want the jellybean dragons. However, it seems impossible to gather them. Humans everywhere already have fallen in love with their pets, the dragons have been released for more then ten years, why wouldn't the affection grow all over the world? It was time to take action for both Project Code, and the zoologists. A new discovery was made, or simply "made up" by these scientists that the creatures were hazardous, in some matter or the other, and were to be taken out of homes for the better of your heath. A few broken hearted citizens believed this theory, leaving their loving pets to be taken away, however for the most part, everyone rebelled. Refusing to give in to this obvious lie. The law became so strict that it was either prison, or give in. Both had the same result, your jellybean dragon was theres. It was unfair, however, impossible to do anything about. Meanwhile, Project Code is the competitor against the zoologists, and at points, stealing from the band themselves. In the midst of the chaos, there are owners who tell their beloved pets to run, to run away far from everything, from Project Code and the Zoologists.

Will those jellybean dragons be able to avoid the grasp of both Project Code and the band of Zoologists? Can they find or free their loving owners? Will it ever be the same?

Rules

1. Tess rules apply. Please read them if you haven't already or if you need a refresh with the rules, I will not be repeating any of them below.
2. If you haven't already, read through Hiccups rules found on the main Jellybean dragon adopts thread. (Link provided above)
3. I imagine everyone knows this, but jellybean dragons can't do magic, read minds, fly, etc.
4. Please follow the information on jellybean dragons found on the main adoptable thread.
5. If you're planning on two characters be already acquainted before they encounter each other in the roleplay, please make sure you have permission from the user in charge of the other character. (This includes both jellybean dragons, and humans) -Unless of course the two characters are both yours-
6. Please include small recaps of your main reply, preferably at the end of your post.
7. Please no telporting your jellybean dragon. Having your dragon in the forest, then suddenly popping up in town, can get a bit confusing. If you're having trouble interacting with others, private message me.
8. I will be in control of the Authorities, the scientist, and Project code. Please do not roleplay them without special permission.
9. Follow the formation below when roleplaying for organization and to avoid confusion on this thread. Best suited on top of your reply.

Don gleefully chased the delicate creature that fluttered just in front of him. The tall grass seemed to eat him whole, as he lifted his head high just to see where he was headed. The insect was still swaying in front of the small jellybean dragon, almost in a taunting way. Don didn't seem to notice, as he giggled in delight, quickening his pace to keep up with it.

What's been going on so far?
Update: Roleplay has started on page three. Current time; Eleven thirty in the morning.

Peppermint ♀
Peppermint has just woken up from her slumber in forest, and proceeded with lifting small rocks, and finding insects to eat for breakfast. Page 3 Pep has noticed a cry from another jellybean dragon, (Kaiden) and sets off to investigate. Page 8 Peppermint has discovered Kaiden, and is considering ways to approach him. Page 11 Peppermint came out of hiding, introducing herself to Kaiden. Page 11 Pep brings up if Kaiden has a place he's staying at. Page 12 Peppermint continues the conversation, admitting the difficulty of the current times, then asking curiously if Kaiden knows of the search parties the authorities have sent out. Page 15 Peppermint enthusiastically greets Ice pop, introducing the two jellybean dragons to each other. Page 17

Don ♂
Don has just finished decorating for his owners' (Riley Tote) birthday party, which will be at twelve noon. Page 3 Don impatiently paces the kitchen floor of Totes house, before Mrs. Tote suggest to play with Rileys younger brother, Dean. The baby jellybean dragon finally agrees, and slowly heads up the stairs. Page 8 After playtime with Dean, Don went into the living room, a bit bored, and anxious for the party. Jumping up on the windowsill, he immediately fell off out of fright, to discover a pair of sharp bright eyes staring at him.
Page 11 Don whimpers to the tapping on the window, convinced he'll meet his end. Page 12

Ice Pop falls attempting to obtain an apple of an apple tree, her paw felt vast pain for a short period of time, before it began to feel better. Page 6 Ice pop took notice of the Kaidens cry, and headed immediately in the direction of it. Page 8 Ice Pop was looking for Kaiden, and found him talking to Pepermint, who Ice Pop fairly knows. Page 11

Fizz ♀
Fizz says goodbye to her owner, Emma, as the girl heads to school, the jellybean dragon is now laying out on the grass, watching as the clouds pass by. Page 4

Kaiden ♂
Kaiden has made it to the forest after days of running from the authorities and Project Code, now resting against one of the trees of the green forest, memories started blowing in of his past owner, and is now letting his sobs reach out in the quiet forest. Page 5 Kaidens bawling quieted down to soft whimpers and sniffles/ Page 8 Kaiden hears noise and knows someone(Pep) is there. He looks around, asking who it is. Page 11 Kaiden is trying to figure out if Pep is friend or foe as he introduces himself. Page 11 Kaiden chats with Pep. Page 12

Melon ♂
Melon coming out of the forest for the first time, and is currently watching a school of fish in a clear pond. Page 5 After some time, Melon stood up, taking a quick drink before going back into the trees, his course towards a small orchard. Page 8 Melo is at a small orchard by the forest, eating somewhat quietly. Page 11

Icicle ♂
Icicle is the city, thinking over his situation in an alley behind a garbage can. Page 5 Icicle has moved along, following his way home. Slipping through a dog door, his owner greets him with a bowl of food, as the jellybean dragon sat down on a bean bag, with a closet ready if hiding is necessary. Page 6 Icicle squirmed uncomfortably on his bean bag, thinking over the overwhelming situation. Before bursting into tears, as his owner attempts to calm his jellybean dragon down. Page 8

Cloud ♀
Cloud is in the forest jumping across the tree limbs. Page 5 Seeing Asparagus trudging along the forest grounds, Cloud generously dropped an apple from her pouch for him from above in the trees, before leaping once again from branch to branch. Page 6 Cloud climbed down from the trees, in response to her growling stomach. The jellybean dragon headed towards a wide river, slipping in the cool waters, she captured small fish and beetles for her breakfast, helping herself. Page 7 Cloud has noticed another dragon along the river bank, (Kiwaro) however, she continued to eat up on the bugs, and catch the small minnows that swam in the waters. Page 7 Cloud let her name out, timidly. She cautiously wondered if this dragon was a friend, or foe. Page 9

Mango ♂
Mango aggressively tipped over some cans in a back alley, while thinking of his sorrowful past, rage built up inside of him against the humans, as he licked on the remains of a beaten down icee. Page 6 The baby jellybean dragon shrieked in rage, and fear to the sudden group of authorities surrounding him. A really really stupid uniformed man reached out his hand timidly to pet the small dragon, before lifting him up. Mango bit down on this hand, before falling to the hard ground, hitting his head, he made a daring escape for the trees, before blacking out. Page 9


Cornilius ♂
Cornilius has just finished a morning stroll in the forest, and is heading back towards the city where his owner lives. Page 4 Cornilius has arrived at the apartment that he and his owner stays in. Page 4 The male jellybean dragon snuggled up against his owner on a lounge, having a short discussion before Cornlilus fell into slumber. Page 6 After the nap, Cornlilus is down the elevator again, popping out into the streets without a care in the world. He soon found himself at the border of the forest, as he continued, he picked up a bird feather along with way, placing it in his tail. A thick flowing river laid before him, as he picked his pace up again to investigate. Page 7

Kiwaro ♂
Kiwaro was given chase by the authorities in the city, making a dare escape from these men, he now rests easy under an oak tree. After his nap, his intentions were to warn the jellybean dragons wandering the streets of the authorities, before passing a few trees to a rushing river. Intending to wash up, he then noticed another jellybean dragon not far in the water, (Cloud) debating whether or not he should introduce himself, Kiwaro decided that if the female dragon should come up to him, he'll give out his name, however for now Kiwaro washed up, and satisfied his thirst with the cool water. Page 7 Kiwaro introduced himself, in a friendly sociable matter. Then asking Cloud for news of what was happening in general. Page 9 Kiwaro hears Ananiem and Carrot Cake and leaves to go find them and introduce himself, while excusing himself from cloud. Page 11 Kiwaro is busy trying to calm the offended jbd's before him while explaining it's better for them to stick together and trust each other. Page 12 Kiwaro explains how he was captured by the authorities the first time and laughs at the ananiem for not knowing about smoke. Page 13 Kiwaro asks if ananiem knows how to use her fire (if she has ever before) and warmly greets Ixchel. Page 13

Butterfingers has swiftly caught a fish, laying it carefully next to two others he had caught recently before. His owner, Oliver, is sleeping peacefully, while Butter continues his fishing in the stream.

Carrot Cake ♂
Carrot Cake joyfully looked over his lovely hoard of jewelry, slightly depressed that he couldn't share his amazing collection, in fear that they would steal it. He gazed at the sky, with nothing to do. Page 9 The baby jellybean dragon jumped to a bush rustling slightly, demanding to know who it is, his words stop seeing that this jellybean dragon is female, Carrot cake blushed deeply. The small dragon tried to talk once more, however, his attempt only let out a squeak. Embarrassed, he covers his mouth. Page 10 Carrot Cake speaks to Ananiem,but he is unsure if she is friend or foe.He thinks she may steal his treasure. Page 11 Carrot Cake isn't taken being called a stray lightly by Kiwaro.Yet he knows better then to take on a JBD twice his size. Page 12 Begin the smallest Carrot Cake doesn't feel like talking so much in front of Kiwaro and Ananiem due to their size. Page 13 Poor carrot cake can't seem to talk much in front of Kiwaro and Ananiem and decides to plays with one of his treasures to keep himself busy.When hearing Kiwaro he couldn't help himself,but to shuttered at the thought of being taken by strangers. Ananiem ♀
Ananiem was eating food and heard Carrot Cake talking to himself, she went to investigate and is now staring at him and wondering what in the world he's doing. Page 10 Ananiem has to remember how to speak because she hasn't in so long and thinks that Carrot Cake has something stuck in his mouth because he stopped talking mid sentence. She is now standing in front of him. Page 10 Ananiem wonders what Carrot Cake's treasure is, and so asks him about the 'shiny stuff'. She realizes she's seen it before on the wrists of people from Project Code when they tried to steal her from the forest. Page 11 Ananiem doesn't greet Kiwaro nicely after he shows up and asks if she's a stray. She's curious about the clip on his tail, but since he called her a stray decides not to ask about it. She's pretty offended. Page 12 Ananiem is a skeptic about the fact that the JBDs should stick together. She decides to give Kiwaro a second chance though since he is trying to smooth things over. She asks why he got captured by Project Code in the first place. Page 12 Ananiem is worried that the forest is on fire when she notices Carrot Cake waving away smoke with his tail. She realizes that the forest is not on fire, but has had so little experience with anything unnatural she doesn't know what is going on. Page 13 Ananiem is ticked at Kiwaro for laughing at her, and asks once again what is going on. Page 13 Ananiem decides Kiwaro is to much trouble, she notices Ixchel and turns, but hasn't said anything yet. Page 14 Ananiem notices the authorities nearby from the sound of their walkie talkie, and is terrified.

Melonpie
Melonpie ran, looking for a way to get out of sight for the chance of being caught. Seeing a black suspicious van, Melonpie panicked, climbing quickly over the fence, in the backyard of the Totes house. Page 11 Melonpie is surprised to see a baby JBD through a houses window and goes to investigate. She peers through and attempts to get the baby dragon's attention Page 12 Melonpie noticed the open window at Don's house and poked her head in to investigate. Page 14

Ixchel
After getting kicked out of her room, Ixchel is heading over towards Ananiem, Kiwaro, and Carrot Cake. Page 12 After finding others, Ixchel is waiting to see their next move. Page 13 Ixchel has revealed herself to Carrot Cake and introduced herself. Page 13

The Authorities
A search party is already undergo in the forest grounds. A noise has been heard by two individuals, a cry, (Kaiden) and the two of them set out to investigate. Page 8 The search party has received a urgent message to inform them that a baby jellybean dragon, (Mango) was sighted entering the forest. The two of them head out to investigate. Page 11

In the city, a report has come in of a baby jellybean dragon sniffing out in the alleys. A team of uniformed men armed with netting approach the narrow alley to discover Mango. Page 8

A basic description till I get the map created!

The town is basically in the middle, which include the neighborhoods and stores. This woods circles the town, reaching up to the mountains, then growing smaller. You could find a few ponds, and creeks in the woods, along with forest animals and berries. At some points you can find a few construction zones, though not many. West of the town is the mountains, with a large lake. A few houses are scattered in this location. Location of Project Code and the zoologists authorities laboratory is unknown.

Thanks to my sister (Glomp) we have a map! My apologies for not finishing the original map.


There's an apple orchard stuck in their somewhere. :) You don't have to be entirely accurate with the map, there will be a few details added to it once I find some time to modify it.

Personality: "Fun" Pep is the fun one. A bouncy, outgoing character that will always pop the silence.

"Responsible" Even with her bouncy behavior, it doesn't necessarily mean she is immature. Peppermint can, and will take things seriously.

"Motherly" Passionate, and caring. Peppermint is also known to have a bossy trait along with this motherly character.

"Generous" Pep would giveaway anything to others just to see their smile.

"Sympathetic" Peppermint will always be there for even the smallest pain, emotional, or physical.

"Annoying" All jelly bean dragons have to be a little annoying a points, she just has more of a share of it. Pep teases harmlessly, and plays harmless tricks. Just about anything to get you on slight edge, however not fall over.

History: Peppermint was taken in by an elder woman by the name of Madeline Rolf at the young age of child hood. Pep was found in the streets, wandering with a happy little skip. The lady and Pep got attached with in a day. The women lived in a more secluded area, in a wood cabin on top of a hill, with the forest stretching behind. In front of the house, you can see a small city. It was within walking distance, though not at all exactly a next door neighbor. Peppermint enjoyed the little cabin, and she loved Madeline. It was then the horrible day came upon the two. Horrible? what was it? The law. Maddie refused to hand over Pep, she was a treasure in her heart, and there was no way that these creatures could be hazardous. At the last second, she pushed Peppermint out of the house in the direction of the forest, the reaction was running. Peppermint even now is living in the woods, it's been roughly around two days, as she tries to avoid the search parties sent out for her. She doesn't want to go further from her home, but deep down she knows that Maddie could already be gone.

Appearance: Don

Personality: Don could easily be describe both as a baby, and a fraidy cat. A completely innocent little jelly bean dragon, and tries to do his best, however can easily get confused which in most cases leads to trouble. A bit shy when approaching others, though just say your name and he'll eagerly be wanting to become friends. The little jelly bean dragon treats everything, and everyone with gentle care. Easily deceived.

History: Don was found in a cardboard box on the side of the street by a family of four, practically just hatched. Riley one of the two sons adopted the small jellybean dragon at the age of six, surprisingly for the mother use to sugar high active kids, Riley was gentle and loving to this dragon. Don was accepted as part of the family. Rileys younger brother Dean was just being the annoying little bro and asking to hold Don every two seconds, eventually though, Rileys younger brother lost interest. As Don grew, he was soon having the run of the house. The affection between Riley and Don was strong, as they did just about everything together. Then, one evening, as Don was sitting outside watching the sunset, a strange man approached him. Riley was currently getting some lemonade, as Don first reaction was to look for him. He wasn't sure what to do, his heard Riley being intrusted not to talk to strangers by his mother, so the jellybean dragon thought it best to zip his lip. The man had some sort of netting, as the young dragon watched curiously.
Is he trying to catch a butterfly?
He wondered, cocking his head and out of shy character backing up slightly by a bush. It was then Riley came out, standing in the door way he faced the man obviously to him trying to catch Don. After a few silent seconds, Riley screamed for his mom as he went after Don. The baby jellybean dragon was confused, but apparently this man was no good. Don bounced into his arms as Riley turned to dash inside and shut the door before his mother even arrived. The man was gone before the door closed. This was Dons first encounter with Project Code. Apparently the authorities didn't have the information of a baby jellybean dragon living within the house, because even now Don is still living with Riley.

Personality:
Azhel could be compared to a young child - maybe 3 to 4 years old, and very much a boy. Eager, energetic, mischievous, innocent, quiet, curious, fearless, impatient, and stubborn. He loves to play tricks with people, maybe jumping out and scaring them or putting their hand in warm water while they sleep - he's well known for his mischievousness. Though, there is a sort of innocence about him, which makes it hard to stay mad at him; whether it's a sly nature which enables him to slip unharmed out of trouble, no one knows. He also has a very serious side, easily changing his emotions to his surroundings.All these traits can lead him to be a good friend, but every leaf has the other side. He tends to get quiet when he feels guilty. Along with that, he has a rather thick head, meaning it's hard for him to change his perspective on things.

History:
Arzhel couldn't complain about his past, and is not afraid of sharing it with anyone either. He lived a humble life with his mother, Alba. They lived in a large oak tree - at the base of where all the large, ancient branches met, which made a cozy dome for them to live. She loved and cared for him as anyone mother would; feeding him, grooming him, housing him, and even attempting to keep up with his high energy and -not to mention- imagination. It was rather hard for her though, fending for both herself and a growing child; a boy at that. The local wildlife pitied her, and rather enjoyed the young dragon's antics and adventures, so they helped out. Perhaps sparing a bit of their own food, or accompanying Zhel on his latest journey. And one old owl had a special liking for Arzhel [He would never admit it, though]; his name was Balzin. He would tell fantastic stories to the developing dragon - of knights, of cruel kings, of beautiful princesses, or even fierce dragons like himself. Zhel very much enjoyed the owl's time with him, and thought of the owl as a grandfather to him. Another animal very much peaked Arzhel's interest - a young rabbit names Theodin. Being a volcano rabbit, he would often take Arzhel back to his den, which was very close to a volcano. Though Zhel wouldn't know it, this is where his love of rocks and stones came into play - seeing all the wondrous geology there, how could a young dragon resist?

Those were the highlights of his young life, but all live's have their ups and downs. As I mentioned before, alba had raised Arzhel all by herself. You may ask why? His father, Orar, had died defending his family. Orar loved Alba, and couldn't bear let anything hurt her, or the baby brewing inside of her pouch. One fateful day, men traipsed through the woods; men with spears, guns, and knives. Orar saw them as a threat, for they were - the villages present were very hostile, and couldn't stand the dragon family living near their homestead. The dragon attacked the posse, and albeit he was out-numbered, and out-armed, he fought valiantly. Alas, the fate seemed to be against him that day, and the men killed him. Thinking he was the only one, they left without a touch to Alba and her child. Saying her last good-byes, she was forced to leave their forest, and move on to a new one - without humans, or at least without violent ones. So Arzhel grew up without knowing his father, knowing him only by the stories his mother told him - of a brave dragon with a heart of gold, courageously fighting off millions of huge men. Though Arzhel knows how his mother had stretched the truth, he still enjoys hearing those kinds of stories about Orar.

A little skittish at times.

Why skittish?: When she was little, her mother was captured by authorities and taken to a lab.
Most of the time laid-back.

Ahh... It's nice to just relax and have a good, cold, drink...

Why laid-back?: She feels peaceful when she can just curl up with any kind of snack.
Love for shiny things.

Ooh, ooh, ooh! New bracelet! Lucky find!

Why does she love shiny things?: When she was a baby, her mother gave her one of her old tail-rings. It was large on Ice Pop, but she eventually grew into it. Now she collects all kinds of shiny things, mostly jewelry.

History:Ice Pop was born in a house, with her mother's owner. When her mother was taken, the owner set out to find her, taking Ice Pop's father with him, leaving Ice Pop and her litter-mates. They all stayed there 'till they were old enough to set out on their own. Ice Pop found a cave, with chunks of ice everywhere. One day, she spilled some juice on the ice, so when she bent down to lick it up,it had froze to the spot it was in.She licked it like a pop. An ice pop. She knew then that her mother, wherever she was, had given her a name.

Personality:
Fizz is very bubbly and fun. She loves to hang out with her friends and family. Her favorite thing to do is swim in the afternoon. She loves chocolate and anything bubbly, like soda. She's very cute, and she knows it. She gets very sad if she isn't friends with someone and will go out of her way to make their day.
History:
Fizz was born in the Dragon Park. She was raised in a small den nearby. Everyday she would go swimming and play with other Jellybeans. When she was two months old, she met a woman in the woods. She seemed nice enough, so Fizz went to investigate. The woman, Liz, picked her up. Fizz loved the warm touch of her arms and lovingly curled up. Liz took her home and kept her as a pet with her two kids, Wyatt and Emma. When the new law was made, she was taken. She escaped and is now living in the woods.
