Echostorm didn't stop. In fact, she did quite the opposite. She ran faster and faster until she found the fox, then puffed up her fur and hissed. Without missing a beat, she lunged and attacked the fox head on.

[Splashfire]

Shadow burst out of the woods, screeching, and leapt on to the fox. He clawed at its face, and it snapped at him, forcing him to leap back.

Nightsplash ran after Echostorm. He joined in the fight, despite his fear of the fox. He snarled and jumped onto the fox's back, digging his claws into the animals shoulder blades.

Hawksky lept onto the fox's chest and scrambled up to its neck. He did his best to bite it, but the neck fur was too thick.

Echostorm pulled back, trying to think of a plan. When they were fighting alone, they wern't really doing anything but annoying the fox. Her eyes lit up as an idea formed in her head. Now all she had to do was hope the others understood. "Stop!" She yelled at them, knowing the fox wouldn't understand their language. "Pretend to surrender! Go back into the forest!"

She padded out of the warrior's den, yawning and stretching. Today, the Clan seemed a bit empty. Where were all the other cats?

Sandstar came out of her den and stretched. The only warrior she saw was Sweetbriar. She nodded a greeting, but then looked around, puzzled. Where was everyone? "Sweetbriar?" she asked. "Where i the rest of the clan?"

"Ummm.... Well, I don't know. I haven't seen them all day," she meowed.

"Hmm, maybe they've all gone out on patrol," Sandstar mused. "Unusual, but possible."
