Batfang nodded. "Yes, that's what I thought. You're lucky to have him as an apprentice— he's always so eager and full of energy." Upon hearing Moonstar's voice, Batfang added, "We'd better go see what that's all about," and trotted out of the warriors' den and into the clearing.

Cinderpaw skipped back to camp happily with the baby rabbit clamped firmly between her teeth. She hadn't done much hunting as of late, so she felt proud to finally be bringing some of her own prey back to the camp, even if it didn't really count as hunting. She dropped her "catch" on the fresh-kill pile and thanked Maplefur for inviting her and Sootpaw on their little hunting expedition before running off to find something else to do, but quickly halted when she heard Moonstar's loud meow and sat down just a bit away from the fresh-kill pile to hear what he had to say.

"Baby rabbits!" Milkflower exclaimed softly, though with a bit of a surprised tone of voice. "Where did you find those?" she asked Maplefur after the three cats had each dropped their tiny bits of prey on the fresh-kill pile. She nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard Moonstar's voice from behind her all of a sudden, but instantly relaxed once she realized that it was only her Clan leader speaking and sat down to listen.

Moonstar cleared his throat. "It is Firepaw's wish to resign from Medicine cats duty. He will join us as a Warrior Apprentice."
"Firepaw, you're path has lead you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Firepaw. Your mentor will be Bearheart. I hope Bearheart will pass down all he knows on to you."
Moonstar beckoned up Bearheart with a flick of his tail.
"Bearheart, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from your own mentor, and you have shown yourself to be wise and leader like. You will be the mentor of Firepaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to him."

"Firepaw!" "Firepaw!" "Firepaw!" "Firepaw!"

Violeteyes purred. "Congratulations."

"Firepaw!" Splashpaw cheered.

"Your welcome" purred Maplefur to Cinderpaw as he and Stormfur walked towards the gathered cats. When Maplefur heard Milkflower's soft mew, he stopped and said "Oh, uh, hi! I, uh, found them by the fresh-kill pile. Stormfur shouldered him, "And you make fun of me having a crush, ha!". Maplefur "blushed", he was pretty sure Milkflower heard that. Once the leader had said his ceremonial words, Maplefur scampered off to congratulate Firepaw and Bearheart.
