((Lol, you are having an extreme burt of muse, and that is a good thing! I remember one time when that happened to me, and I spent an hour on a post. xD It was HUGE, I think 5 paragraphs!))

Halo

Halo smiled to himself as Heartz ran out to greet the new equid, nickering in response to Canad's voice. An outstanding mare she was, those bright green eyes... He gave a small buck, letting his mane stand up as he paraded on out there. Feeling the edge of a frisk, he shifted to a gallop, circling around behind her and the youngster as he tossed recognition of his painful foot to the wind. He could handle it, and somebody needed to keep an eye on Hearts, since her mother was still back at the herd. "Hello stranger!" he shouted to the mare, a grin on his face as he came up close behind. He couldn't go nearly as fast as he wanted, but was still capable of keeping up. "Name's Halo, 2nd in Command, and that fine sir up on the hill is Canad, Lead of the Snow Cap Herd."

Canad laughed slightly at halo's reaction in front of the attractive mare. he trotted down to greet her. "yes, that is me!" he said, i his normal voice, looking right into her green eyes. "may I ask what your name is?" he said, smiling, and swishing his tail.

"Thanks..." Livius said softly as he watched Dolce move back into the herd. He stood there, very quietly, on the edge of the grazing Equids and pondered as he watched them all interact with one another. This whole concept of being in a herd is so...different. I just can't seem to act right. What are these rules? I mean, I remember my mother's herd and how they lived. This is not the same though. Or maybe it's just Dolce...? Sighing gustily, he dropped his head to graze. His mind-track was derailed by the taste of the sweet, dew-fed green grass that filled his mouth and he barely stifled a laugh of pleasure. He was very used to the drier, more hardy mountain grasses up by his little alcove. His violet eyes filled with longing for a moment as he turned up to observe the rocky foothills and their cliffs beyond. Maybe he could go back one day... The sound of voices reached him from over the low buzzing of chattering Equids and he realized that the loner Equid must have shown themselves. His ears perked up as he observed the going-ons from afar, casually swishing his tail against biting flies.

((I love writer's muse, it shall forever by me friend and yes it is extreamly fun! I feel like I could write a whole story, I guess it's because I've had such a bad writers block on my personal stories.))

I watched Halo talk to the new mare and Canad as he joined in but I couldn't get my reaction to Livius out of my head, I've never thought I was interusted in stallions but maybe I was wrong. I shook my head roughly, there is no way that I could be in lo- I cringed at the thought. I stressed about the thought for a while before I couldn't take it and walked around to clear my head a little, I swerved to avoid going near Livius. I walked around the herd once before standing back in the same spot I was and grazed even though I wasn't really hungry. Maybe I should ge back and talk with Livius, I pondered, but I can't do that after I nearly diched him, what if I freak out again? Sighing I looked at Livius, maybe i'm just over thinking this, he doesn't looked confused or in any way freaked out. I snorted and stamped my hoof, why is this so comlpicated? I wouldn't allow myself to think about it any more and turned once in a circle then layed down and wrapped my tail around myself and tried to sleep.

As Heartz passed Halo she looked behind her and released the mare behind her. She lengthened her stride to be able to keep up with her as the mare passed her. Heartz started to fall back to where Halo was and wanted to beat him and the mare but knew it wasn't going to happen. She slowed and stopped near the river out of breath she took a long drink.

The grullo stallion grew quickly bored with observing the far-off interactions of the lead stallion and second-in-command. His attention shifted to the ever-striking mare who looked more and more nonplussed as time went on. Pausing in mid-chew, with a blade of grass sticking out from his lips, Livius watched her with contemplative violet eyes. It's so interesting how confused she looks... I wonder if she knows how even though she's not talking, her body postures are saying so much. His mind whirred, trying to connect the movements with some distant memory, but nothing was clicking into place. He began chewing again after a nasally sigh escaped him. Already, it looks like mares will be the end of my sanity, he thought and chuckled breathily. When she laid down, curling into a ball and wrapping her tail about her, the little jump of his heart of affection for her didn't escape him. Thank goodness a large blue dragonfly whirred up in his line of sight, hovering there....almost taunting him.
"Excuse me, bug, but you're in my way." The insect ignored him, merely continuing to hum and slowly rotate as it searched for mosquitoes. "I take this personally, little bug!" If there was one thing that Livius had, it was an eternal foal within his heart. The bug immediately darted off when he swung his nose at it, but returned, continuing to hover there. Snorting and grinning, he laid back his ears and chomped loudly at it. The dragonfly flitted off to the left and Livius took chase. It wasn't a very far chase as the dragonfly quickly out-maneuvered him, but it did lead him into a particularly succulent patch of clover. Snuffling at the little white blooms, he grabbed a huge mouthful and sighed. This was actually not half bad, being in a herd. He glanced back over towards Dolce and smiled, his mouth full of clover leaves, flowers, and roots.

(( Yeah, I've been working on making little horse displays with some realistic folage and other stuff for a possible fundraiser to help feed some rescue horses that my old trainer took in so i've been very busy lately. ))


Sleep seemed like it would never come so I just listened to the surroundings, Livius was grazing close by. Halo and Canad were still talking to the mare and Heartz was drinking from the stream, I got drousy and finally drifted into an uneasy sleep. My dreams were filled with lush pastures filled with clovers and beautiful yellow, white and tiny purple flowers. I walked around, taking a deep breath of fresh air and as I moved around, dandalion seeds got knocked off their steams and drifted around. The wind tugged at my mane and I gave in for a chase, kicking and bucking playfully. I looked around and Livius appeared out of nowhere but I swerved to canter over to him but I couldn't seem to get close to him not matter how hard I ran. I jumped and then I was moving forward again, all I could see was him, his snowy white blaze and his gourgeous violet eyes. Then I ran to the edge of a cliff, fear filled my entire body, how had I not noticed that? I threw my hindquarters down and slid right over the edge. As I plummeted down I could see rocks down below and I was getting closer every second, I struggled and twisted in the air and just before I hit the ground I violently jerked awake. I snorted, still laying down, and trembled while my heart pounded in my chest. it was just a dream, I sighed, "It was just a dream." I said quietly and set my head back down and closed my eyes, not daring to go back to sleep.

Heartz jerked her head up when she saw Dolce jerk out of the corner of her eye. SHe looked around thinking something else was wrong but seeing nothing she trotted to a patch of grass and began grazing.

((Muse fail........ by the way I haven't been doing much with Famous and Shadow so should i just remove them from the rp or would someone like to RP them for me or should I just change the whole back story behind all three?))

Yes, indeed, there was a small corner of his heart that wilted when he realized that Dolce wasn't going to laugh at his mouthful of greenery, but when Livius realized it was because she was asleep, he felt better. Swallowing his mouthful, he took a moment to observe her unguarded. She really was striking, there was no doubt about it. It was cute how the pink coloration normally found on their noses went all the way up to her ears. He was trying to remember what colors her eyes were when he noticed her frowning and twitching.
"Aw, poor thing... A nightmare," he murmured as he slowly and quietly walked over to her. He reached her just as she started awake and he heard her murmur to herself. "My mother always told me that nightmares never come true," he said softly, hoping not to startle her any more than she was currently.


(( elliej1995, you could continue to have Shadow and Famous remain within the herd just doing nonchalant things while you continued roleplaying Heartz. That way, we all know that they're hanging out. But do what you want to do! They're your Equids after all.))
