RiverShard and MistLeaf padded around, looking for a new cat to talk to.

Musicpaw nodded and raced towards the stores. She grabbed juniper berries, raspberry leaves and some yarrow. She returned quickly.

RiverShard spotted MusicPaw and padded over to the kit. "Hi."

Koisplash coughed again. There was something in her throat, but she couldn't tell what. She began to cough up blood, took a deep breath and collapsed.

Otterkit mewed in confusion. The milk smell was gone. Patchkit lie beside her brother, trying to figure out what was going on.

"Here! Eat this!" Echoshine said, spitting out a pulp of leaves and pushing them toward Koisplash.

Koisplash looked up at Echoshine. "Tell my kits I love them," She whispered hoarsely before her body lie still. She was dead, and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

Echoshine stood in shock. Koisplash had died. And left two kits. All because she hadn't been able to help fast enough. Echoshine fel as though these kits were her responsibility now, just as she felt the death of their mother had been her responsibility. She gently picked up the two kits and moved them away from their mother's body. "Iceshadow?" she asked quietly. "Can you take on two more?"
