Silverpaw shrugged. "Maybe." His mother had been a queen for...well, his whole life. He couldn't imagine her being anything other than that. On one paw he thought it would be fun if they got to hunt and patrol together, and share a day one day after he became a warrior himself. But on the other paw, he didn't know if that's what she really wanted, and he wanted her to be happy.
It took a moment for Cacaopaw to register that her mentor was even speaking to her, until Kinkajoupaw cuffed her over the head. She flattened her ears. "Yeah," she mewed hesitantly. "I just...I'm going to use the dirtplace. You all can start going out--I'll catch up with you." With that, she turned and headed for the dirtplace.
Peacockpaw followed Lochpaw's gaze to the red tabby she-cat. "She is," he admitted. "I can't really compare the two of you, though. You're both beautiful in your own ways."
"I appreciate that," Anacondafang thanked Piranhatail with a purr. He noticed the she-cat's eyes drooping a bit and nudged her. "You look tired. You should get some sleep. We can go hunting later if you'd like."
Whitetail nodded at Jaguarstar before turning back on his mate. "Well, I appreciate it, but I actually want to tag along," he shot back. "Besides, I don't exactly want to alert the whole clan of any personal problems we may be having. I prefer to groom my dirty fur in the den." He shook his head before changing the subject. "What were you thinking, trying to walk out there by yourself? You know that's against camp rules. You could get picked off by an owl or killed by
anything in an instant. Just because we're having a disagreement doesn't mean you get to go and put your life in danger like that. You need to stop letting your emotions overrule your reason." He knew his mate would take offense to his words, and so he quickly added, "You're smarter than that. I know you are."
(I like coming up with my own warriors idioms, in this case I imagine 'groom your dirty fur in the den' is akin to 'don't air out your dirty laundry, e.g. take care of personal matters in private lol. Just my own bit of world-building.)
Fishbelly twitched his whiskers. He would have suggested to simply wake the older tom up, but he didn't know if Cobrastorm had the heart to do that. As much as she acted annoyed by her father's doting and hovering over her, he knew she loved him at the end of the day. Still, he couldn't empathize so easily. "Well, I suppose he'll wake up when he wakes up," he responded, unclear as to whether he was talking about Duskpaw or Slothnose. He glanced over to Jaguarstar, who was talking to a small group of cats. "Looks like Jaguarstar's sending out patrols," he observed.
Pythontail nodded and headed for the apprentices' den, sticking his head inside. "Lilypaw?" he called. "Are you in there?"
(Not sure what to do with Pythontail, seems like Lilypaw is MIA rn.)
