He siged. Then meowed, "I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve my choice. Silverstripe will be the new deputy!" He yowled.

She looked up in surprise. "Thanks Darkstar. I promise to do the besr for the clan." She said.

He nodded. "I know you will..." He purred and leaped down. "Clan dismissed!" The black tom padded to his den, thinking of something on his mind. Then turned to see his clan, buzzing with life. The wind drifted through the camp and made Darkstar's black, smooth fur ruffled. The sun was drawing inwards down the horizon and the sun made the sky a hint of orange and the sign of nighttime with its shade of purple and pink. A tiny star shone, then another, then a whole bunch. They filled the sky, one by one, lighting the dark sky with their small glow. The moon, which is half, shone the biggest and brightest in the sky. The leader looked up and thought about his mother, father, and sisters. Then Wolfstar, his friend. Mentor. Leader. He was all to him. He thought of the good times and bad times. Something snapped and got Darkstar into the reality. His ears perked, getting into focus. Then realized it was his former apprentice, Deerstep. When he was deputy, he realized that the medicine cat, Fawnspot, gave birth to Wispysoul's kits. Three died, making Deerstep the only kit they have. Darkstar made a promise to ever tell about it, even to Deerstep. "Hello Deerstep." He meowed. She dipped her head in greeting.

Silverstripe stood up and wandered over to the entrance of the camp. After a few seconds of thought, she walked out. She came across a stream and stared into the water, watching small fish, too small for hunting, flash by.

A black lithe tom growled. "TODD!" His friend yowled. "GIBSON! Shut the heck up!" The black tom hissed and whacked his on the head. Gibson stopped and rubbed his head, whimpering in pain. He decided to shut up if he wanted to live. "I'm starving..." His friend grumbled. Both of the cats' stomachs growled loudly. "Let's find something to eat." Gibson beamed and ran up ahead.
