For some reason the medicine cat randomly felt like smacking tawnypelt on the head. She then took out brightpaw on a hunt for herbs.

Darkbramble went to see roseleaf in the nursery, he felt bad for not checking in on her for a while. When he went in the two queens were talking quietly. They both looked up at darkbramble, in unison. Smallflower looked as if she had something bitter in her mouth. Roseleaf looked very excited and surprised he was there.

"Roseleaf is having her kits!" Darkbramble exclaimed.

Smallflower sat beside Roseleaf, telling her to take big breaths. She tried to comfort her friend as much as possible. Smallflower then told Darkbramble to step outside. He was about to refuse but turned around and went out. Most of the clan had gathered outside the nursery. This was a special birth, the first in the clan. Smallflower would remember this forever.

Sandstar wondered what everyone was wondering why cats were gathered around the dens. He walked up and said,"Is Smallflower having her kits?" It was hard for him to be heard over all the chatter, but he heard, " No, Roseleaf's kits came sooner. Sandstar was excited. More strong warriors and healthy queens. And even more soon with Smallflower's. Thank starclan for these kits! thought Sandstar.
