Squirrelkit smiled. "Dunno how I'm going to top that, but..." She thought for a moment. Then she started running in circles, snapping at her tail.

"Uh..." Beetlepaw stared speechlessly at her. "Is it an elder trying to bite a tick on their tail?"

Kestrelstar smiled reassuringly at her to show that he meant no harm. "Winter, you have reached the age of six moons an' it's time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Winterpaw. Your mentor will be Deadeagle and I hope that he'll pass down all he knows on to you. Deadeagle, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from X an' you 'ave shown yourself to be thoughtful an' clever. You'll be the mentor of Winterpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know on to her."

Deadeagle lifted his head proudly and approached his new apprentice. Dipping his head towards her, he mewed a soft greeting and gently touched noses with her.

"Nope!" The kits lopped onto her back and acted as if kits were crawling all over him.

Winterpaw gulped. She didn't know if she'd like it here.

"Sunkit? Is it a warrior?" Flamekit asked.

Noticing her nervousness, Deadeagle whispered in her ear, "Relax, you'll be okay." The tom took a step back and looked her over. "Ready to start training?"

"Mommy!" Sparkkit said as he tumbled by the three playing cats.

"It's a Warrior." Squirrelkit mewed, returning to chasing her tail. "This one will be hard!"

"T-Training?" Winterpaw squeaked, eyes wide. "W-What?"
