A quiet, almost nonexistent gasp came from Bluekit.

Falconkit scowled at his father still.

Fallowkit frowned. Sunfire wasn't lying. He'd been crying so it had to be true. Still though, she couldn't truly believe this. "You wouldn't fall in love with a murderer." She said, her voice a bit shaky.

Her ears twitched. "Good. Would you like to hunt with me?" She asked.

"Sure I guess.." she shrugged, facing camp exit.

"It's not like that." Sunfire mewed. "I might as well tell you all of it."
"I grew up with her. We were best friends. But...she always admired another Tom. Whiskerclaw. I warned her, warned her. He was always a jerk. But...she fell for him anyway. Finally I told her. By then it was to late. Whiskerclaw had already cheated on her with Coalfur. I her rage...Blue-Blue killed him and his pregnant mate. About two moons later...she showed up at the border, and...she gave me my kits."

"Alright." She nodded and padded to the exit.

Fallowkit felt anger rise up in her. Her father couldn't have fallen for a murderer! Even if it had been before she actually did the horrible deed. "It can't be true!" She protested, even though she knew it was. "My mother is not a murderer!"

Sunfire began to shake. "It is."

Fallowkit shook her head, her fur bristling. Why hadn't he told them before!? Her eyes flashing angrily, she glared at him. "Well as far as I'm concerned, I'd rather have no mother than a murmurder for one!" Whipping around, she darted towards the nursery. She was aware that she was overreacting a little but at the moment, she was too angry to care.
