The tom curled into a ball near his tree, not feeling up to climbing. He drifted off to sleep, having a blissful, dreamless rest.

She thanked Brokenwillow and searched for him near his favorite spot and found him curled up so she laid next to him. "I'm sorry for saying those things...please forgive me she whispered to him.

A voice and a familiar warmth woke him up. Rowanscar was at his side, making him think he was still dreaming. "No," he said. "I'm sorry. I said you had no loyalties, when that couldn't be farther from the truth. I was just upset." He lifted his head a bit. "Brokenwillow told me that you would be a distraction for me. And I thought she was right, I thought you didn't care for me how I cared for you." He shifted his body so he could look her in the eye. "But she was wrong. You aren't some distraction or some fling. You're exactly what I've needed all these moons."

Koipaw sat by her new mentor, glancing over to littlepaw. She looked so grown up! Koipaw let out a small cough.
