The sound of voices brought Ravencloud out of his dream. He opened his eyes and tried to listen to see what the other cats were talking about. Someone is missing? he thought. He sat up quickly and meowed, "Who isn't here?!" He dashed out of the den the best he could without stepping on anyone.

Swiftstrike walked around the camp, wondering where is the deputy. The fact that he didn't come back yet was... weird. Is he out patrolling or hunting? No... If he would, more cats would be gone. She flinched. Did he get murdered, too? She shook her head, not wanting to believe that Darkeye has died. She padded up to Cottontail who was still sleeping. She nudged her gently, trying to wake the small cat up. "Cottontail." She murmured. "Get up."

He turned over to face Wolfpaw and Ravencloud, which had just left their dens. "Darkeye left a couple hours age and is yet to come back..." he explained "We woke up a few hours ago when we heard some cat screaming out in the middle of the woods. He insisted on investigating by himself and leaving the rest of us to guard, and now he's just gone!" he continued, trying to fill in his clan mates on what had happened.

She yawned as she blinked her sleep away, stretching generously. She looked up at Swiftstrike, still waking up, before getting up and yawning. "Yes...?" She said sleepily, looking at Swiftstrike in dull intrest. She stuck a glance out of the den, noticing the concerned looks of their faces, and Swiftstrike's. She perked up, looking at Swift with concern.

Swiftstrike glanced at Cottontail, visibly worried. "It's... about Darkeye. She pinned her ears. "Haven't you heard that scream in the middle of the night?! Darkeye went out to check it and hasn't came back yet!" The she-cat was shaking, visibly worried it could have happened to him too.

Wolfpaw // Apprentice // In camp

Wolfpaw paused. “Why would he go out by himself? Especially if a cat was in danger.” He looked up to Gullstorm and Ravencloud. “We should go find him. Maybe he needs help!” He set his eyes in a determined look toward the camp exit. “Let’s go!” This was a chance for him to help his clanmates, and he was gonna take it.

Palestar had been awake ever since the earlier commotion. He had warned his clanmates not to investigate, but of course his deputy insisted and the leader knew that he couldn't stop him. Now, later in the morning, the paranoid thunderclan leader was self isolating and pacing around in his den, fur bristled with a face stricken with worry. Why hasn't he come back? Did something happen? Something bad? His thoughts were filled with what could have happened to his deputy, his ears pressed flat against his head and tail twitching nervously.

The medicine cat's eyes were narrowed in concern and darkened with fatigue as tensions in the camp rose. "I knew I should have gone with him," she muttered, half to herself. Ivycloud ducked back into her den and emerged shortly, clutching some common herbs in her jaw. "It's been too long. If Darkeye hasn't gotten back by now, he must be hurt." Or worse, she added silently, but didn't dare say it out loud. "If anyone's leaving camp, I'm coming with them," she stated with a pointed look toward Wolfpaw.

Pebblepaw rolled over, the voices of her clan mates bringing her to consciousness. Wolfpaw’s nest was empty.
“Did I sleep in again?” She muttered to herself, jumping to her paws and stretching before heading into the camp. She blinked as her eyes adjusted to the morning light.
“Woah! What’s going on?” She asked, glancing around at her nervous clan mates.

"I agree with you, but it's not like any of us would think that Darkeye of all cats would get in trouble like!" he replied hastily to the apprentice. Still, he shifted his body back to face the camp exit, ready to slip through the bramble tunnel to find his deputy "Alright then, me, you, Ivycloud, Ravencloud, you coming? As long as there's two of us in a worst case scenario the second will come run back for backup... but the more the better he said.
