Wildflight's expression remained neutral as he simply gave a nod and started to lead Spottedpaw off to an area where he thought the might have some success with hunting. He could tell that he was still uncomfortable around him for some reason but he didn't know why. It never even crossed the tom's mind that his size, strange appearance, or rank could be intimidating especially for young cats. He did consider that Spottedpaw might just not like him though. Perhaps he had been wishing for a different mentor or something. Because of this, he didn't want to mess up by saying something wrong so he was simply keeping quiet for the time being.

Lightpaw gave an expression of confusion as his mentor left the house. He had quiet obviously looked right at him and must have realized that he was trying to get his attention so why did he leave? He simply decided that he must be busy with something important so he started to approach his mother.

Wisteria slowly groomed Laurel, who appeared to be asleep beside her. Her mind was racing with thoughts about various things but her expression gave none of that away.

Jaguarheart flicks his tail as he looks at the grass. His tail flicks his tail around. His ears flatten as he looks at the ground.

Ferretpaw ears flatten as he backs up. "just want my mentor... Nothing more..."

Birchkit rolled her eyes. "Then come with me. Our mentors are waiting." She meowed, padding off to the two as she beckoned Ferretpaw with her tail.

Dewdrop purred. "Do you want to do more training? It might do us good to head back and see what food we can get."

Spottedpaw had interpreted this silence as Wildflight not liking him, not the other way around as Wildflight thought. He had a similar thought process, assuming that he wanted a different apprentice. Wouldn't he have been able to choose his apprentice as the deputy, or was that not how it worked? That was the best explanation he could think of, so he went with that.

Ferretpaw followed as his ears dropped.

Sparrowpaw thought about it for a moment. "I'm getting kind of tired, so we should probably get some food." She said. They would probably have to eat the kittypet food because most of the prey was scared off, but maybe some of it came back.

Nightsong smiled as the apprentices returned. "Rustpelt and I are going to show you the best hunting grounds," She explained, nodding to each one in turn. "And get to know each other."

Birchpaw grinned. "Yay!" She exclaimed.

"Alright, come on." Dewdrop meowed, padding back inside as he beckoned her with his tail.

Nightsong smiled at her apprentice's enthusiasm. "This way," she said,, exiting the twoleg nest.

Sparrowpaw followed him back inside, and sniffed the air. "I don't smell any prey, just kittypet food." She muttered, disappointed.
