Placidwhisker stepped out into the light from the warrior's den, awake with the clamouring of the other cats. The air today was sinister and somber, however, and Placidwhisker went to see what was going on. He greeted his mate, Tornadostorm, with a small lick as he listened to the situation. Even Tornadostorm, with her usual positive energy even during difficult times, seemed worried and disturbed.

And then there as Rimepaw, Placidwhisker's apprentice. There was an attempt at murder, but who would want to hurt such a young, thoughtful and quiet cat? Placidwhisker, even with his normally calm and nondescript ways, felt a turn from nervousness to an anger that burned and nipped at his ears, though he didn't let himself show it. Rimepaw already had so much going on, and Placidwhisker knew that seeing her mentor get frustrated would add to it. Whoever did this would have to pay, no matter if it was a Thunderclan cat.

The tom frowned as the apprentice explained what had happened, his fur standing slightly on end at the thought of a potential murderer being in Thunderclan. The discovery not helping his naturally paranoid self, "That does not sound like an accident." He meowed lowly, directing it somewhat towards Lilypaw who had suggested such a thing, a tinge of anger and fear in his voice as his tail twitched with unease and his ears flattened themselves against his head, "Whoever tried to do this... we need to get to the bottom of it. Rimepaw, is there anything you remember about the cat in question?" He asked with a worried look, noticing how tired the young cat was, but desperately needing more information before moving forward.

The young calico's fur bristled defensively at the leader's comment. Her heart ached for Rimepaw and what she had been forced to go through. She didn't deserve any of this stress and pain. "Will you stop making her talk about it?" Lilypaw snapped. Almost immediately, she felt a touch of apprehension at having shouted at Palestar, but she didn't regret speaking up. Asking the same questions over and over wouldn't help anything; it would only serve to heighten Rimepaw's distress. She didn't want to think about the killer roaming free, so instead she focused on keeping her sister safe.

Palestar's fur bristled at the sudden anger coming from the young apprentice, his tail lashing defensively as his gaze dragged over to meet hers. Sighing, he flatted his fur down, realizing it was a normal response to this situation, everyone was panicked and on edge right now, "Lilypaw, I know your sister needs rest and she'll get it, I assure you. But right now we need to try out best to find out who tried to do this to her. I hope you understand. But, if there's nothing else to go off of... well, Rimepaw, you may rest if you don't remember anything other than what you've told me." He said, sympathy in his voice before his gaze moved to his deputy, "Harrierheart, have two warriors keep an eye on the apprentice den until Rimepaw is well rested." He ordered. Although it was a bit much, being safe rather than sorry was his priority.

Rimepaw forced herself to pull away from Lilypaw.

“Y-yes, that’s it.”

She ducked her head and weaved through the gathered cats, practical bolting to the apprentice’s den. She curled into her nest as tightly as possible, paws over her face and laid there for a long moment, just breathing and calming down.

Someone wants to kill me.

Her head shot up, almost expecting to see a looming figure in the den entrance.

Palestar sat idly on the highrock. He had heard the news of how Rimepaw had been pushed onto the Thunderpath. He wasn't one to take lightly to the news and almost immediately believed the she-cat despite what others thought. The tom called a meeting with a somewhat timid voice.

As cats began to gather below him, he addressed the situation, "While no cat in our Clan has been harmed, a threat on one's life has been made. I want to make sure all of you are safe, and do to that we must find out who is willing to push an innocent apprentice into a Thunderpath," he looked at them all expectantly. When nobody spoke up, he sighed. He wished Rimepaw had caught a glimpse of the cat who had done it so this could be fair, but he would just do what he could to make it as fair as he could, "Well, then I suppose we will have to vote. Please, say the name of whomever you believe did it."

With much hesitation, the general consensus seemed to be Blizzardstrike. Hanging his head, Palestar nodded, "I am sorry, Blizzardstrike. You must leave this Clan. May StarClan be with you."
"Excuse me? I would never hurt my own daughter," Blizzardstrike hissed, holding Rimepaw close to him. Mutters arose of his protest, but Rimepaw did not try to shuffle away.
Palestar sighed, "I know, I am so sorry," he only had to look at Harrierheart to signal to the tom to escort his former Clanmate out of camp. The deputy nodded and touched his tail to Blizzardstrike's flank.
"Time to go," he said, nudging the white tom. Blizzardstrike growled, but didn't protest.
