Scarletflower mirrored his fighting position. Like mentor, like apprentice. The ginger she-cat playfully growled,"never." and swiped at him, daggerlike claws sheathed. Her green eyes glowed and sparkled as she made her move.

An unprepared cat would not be able to overcome his strength in his size difference, lucky Scarletpaw Ashfire trained her using his own body build. Bubbling up with excitement, she lead the female into the nursery. Swiftbreeze rotated herself around her nest, a small orange bundle curled up in the midst of the moss. Pride radiated off her pelt as she gazed down from kitten to feline. Swoftbreeze bent down and ebtly nudged Firekit, his little amber eyes opening at his mother's touch. "This is Firkeit." She purred.

Scarletflower was.grini.g all the while. She knew it would still be hard to beat her former mentor, however, she had done it before and could do it again. Scarletflower used her speed against his strength, which could be expected. She moved from one side to another in an attempted to confuse him, lashing her paw out at random occasions.

"Don't." He meowed, referring to Heartstar's guilt. "I snapped and I shouldn't have. That's it." Crowstar's still had his traditional temper. It had never gone away, as it did in most cats who had one, which could be good or bad.

As Swiftbreeze lead Hazelpaw into the nursery, the apprentice let out a surprised gasp. "Well, hello little one." Hazelpaw bent down kindly to look at the kit. "Why did you tell me sooner?" She laughed, eyes glowing with happiness for her friend.

She chuckled, "To be honest the thought didn't cross my mind at all while we were talking." She gazed down at Firekit, watching him sit up and curiously sniffing at Hazelpaw. "There were two more, but I chose to take the oldest with me, so here he is. I never thought that I would end up being remotely capable of taking care of a kit." She shrugged, snorting with amusement, "It makes me feel old when I think about it!"

Crowstar licked Heartstar's head. "I know. And I love you too." The tom didn't really say those words. He had been brought up never using them.

"Well he looks healthy and strong, and I'm sure your other kita were too." Hazelpaw eyes glowed. Will Lionflare and I ever have kits? She began to think. That would be a struggle... being in different clans.... Her thoughts were i.terupted. "You're not old, Swiftbreeze!"
