With a concerned nod, Thornstep brushed his cheek against Starlingfeather's, wiping her tears away. "Please... Don't cry. We can get through this together." He offered the she-cat a soft smile, before gently grooming the top of her head. "Starlingfeather... Will you be my mate? I know it won't be official to the clan and we won't be able to announce it to anyone, but.." He paused, his ears twitching nervously as he leaned closer to her. "I.. I love you, Starlingfeather. And I am more than willing to give you everything that you want and deserve."

"Yes, I will. I'll be your mate. I'll give you everything you need." she murmured quietly,
pressing her muzzle deeper into his fur. "I don't care how hard this will be, just being
with you is all I need." Starlingflight's choked mew was muffled by his pelt. Just be
careful. It takes one day to have kits...

Unable to contain his pure joy, Thornstep purred loudly and rubbed his head beneath Starlingfeather's chin, his chest swelling with pride. "Ah.. Thank you. Thank you so much! You won't regret this decision, Starlingfeather, I promise. I'll do whatever I can to make you the happiest she-cat in the world." He nuzzled her shoulder gently, closing his eyes to take in her scent for a little while longer. "I should probably go back out there. Others might have noticed that I'm gone."

"Meet me by the river after the sunset patrol," the white tom murmured, slowly standing up and moving away from Starlingfeather's warm side. He shook out his fur, trying to expel at least a small amount of the medicine den scent he was drenched in, before padding slowly and carefully out into the clearing, hoping no one had noticed how long he was gone. He never spoke much to others in his free time, anyways, so it's not like his interactions with the clan would be missed unless he had been scheduled for a patrol.
