Minnowpaw dithered uncertainly, wanting to share her growing concern with Littlepaw but not wanting to overly worry Darkkit.
"She probably just got distracted whilst hunting," she began, unsure how to proceed, but was saved by Harrierstar's call for training.
"Sorry Darkkit, we have to go - I'm sure Dandeliontail can tell you stories until Blueleaf gets back, though!"
To Littlepaw, she mewed quietly: "Blueleaf would never leave the kits for this long... but what if we tell someone and it's nothing? I don't want them to make fun of me!"

honeypaw grunted, rousing from deep sleep, eyes squinting and mouth dry, he rolled on to his side. "leave me alone for just a few more moons so I can get a decent amount of sleep" he mewed, but managed to unsteadily climb to his paws and in a few lazy strokes start grooming his sticky pelt. "what are you so excited about? for starclans sake, what are you so energetic about, you look like a kit whos about to be made apprentice!" blinking his eyes, the apprentice managed to set an imposing gaze on his surroundings, expression indifferent as he noticed rubblepaws name was called, more or so for patrol. perhaps if sundusk feeling generous, I may be able to sleep some more!

silverfoot padded through the woods before eventually reaching the stream. she lapped at the water, noticing a few minnows swimming downstream on the other side. after she finished, she stood and sniffed the air. 'if i'm already out here, might as well go hunting,' she thought to herself. she noticed a few sparrows on the ground, pecking at the ground. she crept around into some tall grass to hide as she stalked forward.

Oh, there he was! Rubblepaw felt silly that Honeypaw had been nearly right in front of his paws the whole time, but he wasn't going to speak about it if Honeypaw wasn't, "Well, it is just as exciting!" he insisted, curling around himself in a little circle, adding in a small hop at the end. "We're going to go for a r--" Rubblepaw was cut off by the ringing voice of the leader, Harrierstar. Not without a small look of disappointment, Rubblepaw walked away from his brother, "Maybe another time," he called back, hopefulness coating his voice before he disappeared out of the den.

It took the clumsy apprentice a little while to find the group of cats that had been called, but now that he was paying attention he realized it was most apprentices! And his mentor! Rubblepaw wagged his tail at him, "Hi Speckledpelt!"

Darkkit nodded, clearly still worried. Walking out with Minnowpaw, his tail flicked. Watching as apprentices and their mentors gathered, he sighed. "I'm not sure what to do," he murmured, watChung hs older siblings.

"alright," harrierstar said once the called cats gathered near him, "i'm sending you all off to train in the clearing nearest to the old thunderpath. battle moves, preferrably. i'd like to see some good ones when you return to camp!" he gave the apprentices a look that meant the last sentence wasn't just a pleasantry. ever since the last gathering, he had had an odd feeling that tensions were rising between thunderclan and shadowclan—the latter of which had been taking in too many kittypets and loners along with multiple recent litters of kits, and it seemed they were beginning to outgrow their territory. if there was fighting, harrierstar wanted to be prepared. training the apprentices was a good first step.

Speckledpelt's ears perked up at the sound of his name being called as he stepped out of the warriors den. Seeing Rubblepaw with so much energy, he gave him a warm smile as he bounded up to him. "G'morning!" he greeted him. "We better get going soon, Harrierstar seems to have some high expectations today." With a flick of his tail, he continued on, "Training is going to be in the thunderpath clearing today. Harrierstar doesn't seem to be messing around, now."

Of course, orders from Harrierstar were important to the brown tabby tom, but the words that Speckledpelt spoke would always be infinitely more meaningful to him. Rubblepaw had always felt like even though Speckledpelt was his mentor, he was also his friend; while he may think of everyone that way, he liked to believe his friendship with Speckledpelt was more special because he was his mentor.

Rubblepaw's ears pricked up at the two cat's words, "Can we make sure that I learn the best, and the most moves?" he whispered into Speckledpelt's ear, kneading his paws excitedly into the dust-coated earth beneath him. "Oh! And can we race there? I was going to ask Honeypaw if he wanted to race with me, but it'd be just as fun with you!"

Littlepaw bent his ears a little back with a bit of worry as he thought about it. Wasn't she just a queen though? She wouldn't do that would she? As he was wondering, he couldn't help to feel anxiety from the possible outcomes. Gladly, Harrierstar had finally snapped him out of his thoughts as he raced over. With a flicker of acknolage to Minnowpaw's remark, he glanced around at the cats around him. Minnowpaw, Rubblepaw, Frostbelly and Speckledpelt. Both friends and his mentor...sounds fun actually. Perhaps maybe even helpful to look for Blueleaf! His ears perked up in slight relief that, indeed he didn't have to mention anything to Harrierstar. So battle training...eh. He wasn't that good with fighting, but he could throw something if he tried hard enough. "I wish you could watch," he whispered to Dark-kit, before retraining his thoughts away from him.

Instead, he saw Frostbelly in the clearing and decided to go see what his mentor suspected of him. "Morning Frostbelly, is there anything training wise I could be working on?"

Frostbelly grunted as his apprentice approached. "You heard Harrierstar. Battle training by the Thunderpath. If you're lucky, you might be able to push Minnowpaw over. Now come on, I'm not letting you out there unsupervised." He hauled himself to his paws, bushy tail swishing. His nose was stuck up in the air. "I'm not going to wait for you forever. I was ready to get you up myself. We don't have all day, you know."
