Wildflight greeted Stripestar with a dip of his head before speaking. "Rabbitfur and I just returned from checking the borders," He began, his voice steady, "We came to the conclusion that it was an adder that took Mousekit's life. It must have gotten in without notice." The deputy looked at Rabbitfur now to give him to opportunity to add anything more if he wanted. He knew the warrior was upset with his earlier change of decision and so it would not surprise him if he chose to just keep quiet.

Rabbitfur listened quietly to Wildflight as he explained their 'findings', nodding slightly in agreement. When Wildflight turned his attention towards him, he realized he should try to say something. But if he exaggerated details, the Clan leader could see straight through their lie. He had to be careful.
"It was smaller in size when compared to other adders." Despite what he was doing, his voice didn't waver or faulter at all. It remained as monotone as always. "This gives me further reason to believe it was that adder, as something so small could easily enter the nursery without alerting anyone."

Stripestar looked at them then flick his tail. He got up and mews. "But we would have at least seen it. Right wildflight." (Wait what happen before this?)

(the two of them just went on patrol, found no evidence of like an intruder or anything that might have killed mousekit, and then decided to tell stripestar this so that maybe he'll like calm down and not freak everyone out about finding the killer or something idk)

(oh I forgot about that. WHY! mousekit why you make you papa sad. </3 And I was just going to make Stripestar stay in his den after mosuekit's death. But I'll wait until icekit deads then he will only come out once every day. )

Wildflight shook his head, somewhat disappointed when Stripestar didn't immediately accept their lie but also not entirely surprised. "Not necessarily." He said, "Like Rabbitfur said, it was small and could easily be missed. Rabbitfur and I noticed it coming out of camp just as we returned from patrol." The deputy was trying not to be too vauge on the details but also not extremely descriptive in case that made him sound suspicious.

(i'm not 100% certain i'll even kill her. mostly 'cuz i don't wanna deal with giving cloudgaze more grief right now. i'm lazy...if she does die it'll be sometime after she becomes an apprentice tho)

''Well, even if Blaze decides not to come back, I'm sure she'll visit you guys. If something happens to her, I could tell you guys for her.'' Paw meowed to reassure Bumblepaw. ''I noticed that you giggled about my name, is it because if I became an apprentice I'd become Pawpaw?'' She asked to change the subject.

"What do you mean? What would happen to her? The twolegs take care of her don't they?" Bumblepaw questioned with a small frown. It certainly didn't look like she was being starved. In fact, it looked like she was even eating better than the queens of the clan! (i'm assuming. if froggie contradicts this sometime thats okay) The tom's frown faded when she went on. "You mean, you would want to join the clan?" He asked with a look of surprise and excitement. The idea of having another apprentice around to make friends with thrilled him. "But that would be silly! You would have to change your name. Stripestar could give you a new one."
